Gold hoop earrings - tacky or classy

I've got about £100 to spend and was thinking about gold hoop earrings because I thought that they are timeless but at the same time I think they could be tacky! Anyone got any nice ones?

We had a saying when we were teenagers, The Bigger The Hoop, The Bigger The Hoe.

For some reason it's always stayed with me and it's just a silly thing. I would go for a discreet diamond stud but if you really really want a hoop stick with smaller ones.

What a horrible saying.

I pretty much only wear hoops day to day, because they stay in and I can sleep in them. At the moment, I favour small gold ones with charms, but I have larger ones too.

gold hoops are a style classic but yes, they can be tasteless depending on how they are styled and what they're worn with. this pair is sif jakobs and are vermeil on 925. if i wear hoops, i tend to take my other ear piercings out though as i think the hoops are decorative enough.

Small hoops can look lovely and yes, they can indeed look classy imo. As with everything, it depends on what else you are wearing, hairstyle etc.

I love gold hoops! I don't care if they are tacky or classy. I got some mid sized ones and I wish I had gone bigger. They look like I wanted to go big but cold feet, which I kind of did.

I think it very much depends on your personal style (or lack of!) and your hairstyle - hoops with a 'Croydon facelift' are a huge no-no unless you're aiming to look chavtastic.

I love them. I have some small chunky ones and I adore them. I also have a huge pair that I only wear on holiday. I love them. They are over the top and I doubt anyone would call them classy but I adore them.

Delicate & simple real gold hoops with an understated causal outfit great. With formal clothes or sportswear a bit naff (as someone said off to court)
