Thread to discuss and compare 2023 Beauty Advent contents. Started because Liberty has already published their contents.

The Sisley one is £600 and virtually everything is travel/sample size. I love Sisley but no, just not happening and I can’t see them shifting many.

MrsRPatz · 23/07/2023 16:02

I can’t see the 2023 contents in that link, am I missing something?

I bought the Liberty 2022 one using my beauty drop credits but also got the JL one with a discount, which I preferred.

Do you get the usual 15% off the AC and free postage as a LiB member, @KevinDeBrioche ?

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 23/07/2023 17:01

Place marking. Thanks for the thread

QueefofSheena · 23/07/2023 18:01

Checking in, thanks for the thread. I’m not sure about the Liberty AC, I might wait to see what the September(?) GWP is like and spend my credit there. Last year I ended up with loads - Flannels at a reduced price, which was great, and Debenhams reduced, which was good for the price. I also managed to get the Bare Minerals one at the mistake BF price. I have way too much stuff already 😬

AprilLady · 23/07/2023 18:21

Thanks for the thread @Stoic123

I actually think it looks okay overall, but not great. I like but don’t have Le Labo Rose 31, and have wanted to try Poets of Berlin. So perfume choices are good. I’ve also been wanting to try the Byredo lipsticks. I like the AB cream, so happy enough to have it included. I also rate the hair oil we’ve had previously in a BD box. But bracelet, hairclips, AA rollerball? No thanks.

FredaFox · 23/07/2023 18:49

Ok now I'm not as convinced with Liberty, I must have looked at last years list
Maybe I'll spend my bd money on something else, my mum loves moon carnival so might get her that if it's ever in stock!
I am hoping for a bargain or two, I also got the bare minerals pricing error and reduced flannels calendars
I've had Selfridges the past two years too but paid full price for those

TreesinthePark · 23/07/2023 19:21

I'd definitely be tempted to blow my BD credit in Moon Carnival. And I need another AA roller ball like a hole in the head, such a useles product but always turns up in different advents/kits

TheRealHousewife · 23/07/2023 19:37

Great thread! I have had Beauty Advent Calendars previously although I didn’t bother last Christmas. I am thinking of treating myself this year but I’ve not decided which one as yet. On watching the vids @Rlv kindly posted I wont be getting the Sisley one @£595! 😮 I would never spend that amount on a BC but I really can’t see the value in that particular one.

Popcorndoggy · 23/07/2023 20:43

I got the Space k for the last 2 years. Won’t get again this year as they were too similar. As others have said, seem to be the same products appear in all calendars and too many samples for them to be really appealing.
Maybe some of them will up their game this year.

WithinReasonOfCourse · 23/07/2023 22:01

At first glance I liked the Liberty AC - the AB cream is much, much better IMO than the AB Rich Cream that was given out in pretty much all the calendars last year, and I also like the hair clips and bracelet ( probably because my beauty product stash is still pretty healthy, despite a no-buy 2023 I still won't need a facial oil until about 2030😂) But on reflection I'm better off waiting to buy my favourite bits ( le Labo Rose 31, yes please ) on Ebay as there are a lot of things I don't want or need.

HollyGolightly4 · 23/07/2023 22:09

Oooh this thread has fascinated me! I'm in it 🤣

WithinReasonOfCourse · 23/07/2023 22:11

Be careful @HollyGolightly4 this will result in at least one purchase! 😂

Gracewithoutend · 23/07/2023 22:13

OMG. I can't believe at beauty calendar stage already. Where's this year gone? I can't wait to see what's coming up.

dickdarstardlymuttley · 23/07/2023 22:26

I think the Liberty calendar looks good overall but I’m disappointed at the inclusion of a bracelet, a mirror and hair clips. They just seem like filler items and the bracelet in particular looks really rubbish, to be honest. I like that they always include a Le Labo perfume but it’s a shame it’s a rollerball this year. I can never smell anything applied with a rollerball!

I’m most looking forward to the Liberty candle, Byredo lipstick (both shades look relatively similar although different finishes), Rose Inc blush, Votary serum and Vilhelm perfume.

PomRuns · 24/07/2023 06:48

I am sure Liberty will update in due course.

PomRuns · 24/07/2023 06:48

That was to Rlv.

spuddel · 24/07/2023 08:50

@Orangeslemon I'm not a fan of rollerball perfumes either. Can smell it as I apply but rarely get a waft of scent in the minutes after.

MavisMcMinty · 24/07/2023 14:20

I’m not sensitive-skinned but I have found lately that putting perfume directly on my skin via rollerball or perfume stick brings me out in a rash.

Strawberryfield12 · 25/07/2023 06:40

Thank you for the thread. Looking forward to the spreadsheet! 😆
