Thread to discuss and compare 2023 Beauty Advent contents. Started because Liberty has already published their contents.

Can’t believe it’s that time already! I remember last year saying I wasn’t getting one as I have so much stuff. Then I thought I would just get the M&S one. Then I ended up with the John Lewis one when they did an offer with a kit so I got the kit AND the advent calendar. And of course I have bought more stuff this year! So I really really really don’t need a calendar this year!

I've got the JL one last two years. Both really good value but last year's felt quite similar to 2021's.

In hindsight, I think the Harrods contents would have been used the most but JL enticed me with a discount.

I got Space NK for the past 2 years.

I wonder what will happen with them this year? They didn’t sell very well last year.

Oh thanks for starting this thread. I had the very first one of these years ago and have not been able to justify the cost but this year I can! Signed up 👍

Not in a position to buy one this year but I absolutely love looking at them and will still be joining all the lists just in case 😂

What do you think of it? I’ve got beauty drop credit building up so I can buy this and I’m feeling a bit underwhelmed. I might just need a little more time to think about it.

I agree.

I have 0 interest in the liberty AC. I have a lot of products from last year so might just go for one offering the best deal/discount.

95% of my AC enjoyment comes from
these threads 😂 but then 100% of my purchases also stem from these threads so I won’t make any promises.

Thank you for this. I was planning on buying it this year after not bothering for the last couple of years, but I’m a bit underwhelmed.

Liberty seem to put “unisex” perfume in a lot of their beauty boxes. I’ve had loads over the years and I’m not a huge fan. 2 hair oils (and 2 hair products suitable for curly textured hair). I definitely don’t need any more Dr Sebagh serum - I’ve had loads of that over the years in beauty boxes!

I’ll follow this thread and keep my eye out for a more appealing advent calendar!

I'm not liking the look of the Liberty calendar this year, but really enjoyed 2022's. I have had the JL one previously in 2021 and it was great.

The F&M one might be my choice this year.

I do already have last year's jewellery advent calendar that I got at a seriously good price in the Liberty sale which I have sitting in the wardrobe ready for December. It's only 12 days though.

I think I'll keep my Liberty beauty drop credit for the sale or maybe a good GWP.

I got the Space NK one after three years of liberty and I really liked it - be a shame if they don’t do it again
the liberty box looks very underwhelming IMO

I got the spacenk and cult beauty ones last year. I've probably got at least 50% of the products unused because I had such a stash before I got those. However I'll probably get them both again this year and then have a break.
I've been doing a saving challenge so by the time they come out I'll have enough for both.

Well I wondered about the 12-day calendars on another thread and was told you start them ON Christmas Day and open one a day until 12th Night.

@MavisMcMinty a good idea - I had been thinking of doing one every two days in December. I'll have to ponder that neater the time

It is a good idea, because after Christmas it all goes terribly flat for me, I miss opening my calendar every day, nothing to look forward to (I hate New Year) but more months of winter.

Love an advent calendar thread! I quite like the look of Liberty this year actually but I wonder if it would be wiser for me to just spend on the products I want when they have a decent GWP..

Liberty looks good to me, if not mind blowing. Looking forward to seeing what CB and Space NK dish up

I got the JL and M&S calendars last year. I will get the M&S one again this year unless there's a massive change and the contents go downhill.

I will wait and see about other calendars. I will stay away from those with excessive amounts of eyeshadow (drowning in the stuff).
