Thread to discuss and compare 2023 Beauty Advent contents. Started because Liberty has already published their contents.

I’m hoping Liberty have pulled it for a re-think.

LOL! Maybe they 'accidentally' released it early to get free mumsnet feedback and now have hastily withdrawn it Grin

I hope that they're busy removing that roller ball...

CinnamonCoffee · 23/07/2023 12:57

They had a bibbi ghost of tom Edp which doesn't even exist according to a Google search.

PomRuns · 23/07/2023 13:01

@MidnightMeltdown and the rich cream !

MidnightMeltdown · 23/07/2023 13:03

Looking again at Liberty, it's not terrible but there are quite a few drawers of disappointment for me.

Particularly, the roller ball, eye patches, same boring hyaluronic acid and AB that they've given out in previous calendars, soap, BS cream that I already have, verden hand cream, rose Inc blush (not keen on the formula)

There are two hair oils, one of which I already have

Lipstick shade looks good in pic, but you don't know which once you're getting, which I don't like when paying £250

Also, there seem to be lots of tiny sizes - e.g. 25ml cleanser that they claim is 'full size'. Surely not?!

Ha ha. Does Bibbi as a brand exist ?

@MidnightMeltdown and the rich cream !

Yes! AB must be handing those out like sweeties to advent calendar curators. I wish that they'd at least give us a different AB product...

CorneliaStreet · 23/07/2023 13:27

I had my first ever beauty advent last year (M&S) and really enjoyed it.

I already have a big stash of stuff, plus I have a Cohorted beauty box subscription and I am getting the Red beauty box for my birthday, so I don’t need a calendar this year. But DP said the other day he’d get me one of the higher end ones as a present and I’m definitely not passing up that offer!

I thought John Lewis, Latest in Beauty and the Sephora UK/ Feel Unique ones looked good last year.

CinnamonCoffee · 23/07/2023 13:29

I think Bibbi must be a new brand.
And yes to bloody AB the cream! Insanely fed up with it.

Ap24 · 23/07/2023 13:36

@Stoic123 I love the term drawers of doom!

@moderndaywitch I was guessing that would be the reason and it would be too late to change it up. Maybe next year will be more worthwhile.

Offredismysister · 23/07/2023 13:46

Last year was the first year I didn’t bother. I’ve had liberty, spaceNK, Harrod’s & Look fantastic in the past. Liberty was best when it contained a Diptyque candle & more full size products. I think the market has become too saturated, too many sample sizes & too much of the same crap no one wants. However, I will browse this year to see if there are any different offerings.

Lotsofpots · 23/07/2023 14:15

Can someone post an up to date link? No matter where I look I can only find the page that tells us what was in it last year.

CocoMascara · 23/07/2023 14:19

Checking in! Thanks for the new thread @Stoic123

AdoraBell · 23/07/2023 14:20

Place marking, that Liberty’s one looks good.

Strik · 23/07/2023 14:21

I am confused. Where are the contents of the 2023 Liberty calendar? The link in the OP links to last year’s contents.

TheChosenTwo · 23/07/2023 14:26

@strik I was thinking the same and read the thread, they have swapped the link to just show last years contents.
I haven’t bothered the past few years, I prefer to spend my money on things I now know I love and want to repurchase, usually wait for a GWP so I can get a few new bits to try though!
augustinus bader’s rich cream is so thick and greasy, I ended up using my bottles on my legs and arms 😂

SoloCat · 23/07/2023 14:31

Checking in too….had Liberty last year, plus Harrods, Harrods fragrance. Then I bought Fenwicks and Flannels in the sales, and then bought Valmont. Well that’s a little embarrassing 😳 who needs that much 🤷‍♀️😁

I should not buy any, but I have FOMO!

Liberty contents look underwhelming, though I’m interested in the Poets of Berlin too..although ££’s for a lot of extra meh! Spent most of my BD credit on the kits..loved the recent scent one, and the body one.

Lotsofpots · 23/07/2023 14:44

Thanks so much @Puravida23

Thanks for sharing that, wow - absolutely nothing in there that’s remotely piqued my interest!

JulesJules · 23/07/2023 15:15

Love these AC threads. I tend to use ACs for stocking presents for my two DDs. Last year I left it too late and missed out on the M&S, the expected restock never arrived, so I'll probably go for that one this year. I got the Holland and Barrett instead, which was really good. The previous year I sent the H&B (and the Degustabox cal, she was in a houseshare) to D1 at university.

If I had the money (I don't 😁) I'd choose JL or the Fortnum and Mason for myself. The FM especially looks so beautiful.

I meant the Liberty one, I hadn’t seen the videos posted after that one.

I got LiB last year for just over £100. I don’t know what I’ll get this year but absolutely no way would I spend £200, is interesting how many discounts / deals started to roll in I do think that will affect when people buy this year!
