@FredaFox ADVENTDIARY gets £10 off

magneticmoon · 02/09/2023 21:17

I'm tempted to veto a calendar if I see certain products in it this year. Starting with any Augustinius Bader rich cream, Eyeko eye product, or Nars blush... also hate calendars with hair products as I have curly hair that doesn't usually like them. Except Larry King social life which is fab.

JohnNolan · 02/09/2023 22:34

Can anyone share a link to whats in the glossybox AC? I've got an email about it but it's not displaying what's in it yet. I thought last years was really good & want to see what thus years is like.

Thanks!!! 😊

I normally get Anthropologie, which I’m always very happy with (last year it was discounted the week before Black Friday), but I’ve decided to go for F&M this year. I had an awful Xmas last year (in hospital) so decided this year to treat myself! it’s spendy but when I add up how much I would spend on similar products I would use in it, I’m saving money, plus the box looks beautiful!

Escalateandcreate · 03/09/2023 09:39

Marks and Spencer doesn’t look too bad but I’m holding off to see what else comes out.

Itsanewme · 03/09/2023 10:01

I'm in Ireland and just used a code for 20 % off the LF calender
TREAT20 and it worked

AprilLady · 03/09/2023 10:42

@Itsanewme thank you, that code works rather well - appears to actually give 30% off, as it’s pricing it at £69 for me in the U.K. Worth a try if anyone fancies LF.

You're right 😄 €80 for me
Even better

redredwineub40 · 03/09/2023 11:17

Oooh thanks for the LF code - £29 off, get in! Had to have that xx

FragranceAddict · 03/09/2023 11:26

Thank you for that code @Itsanewme 🙂

Who fancies this one? https://beautyadventcalendar.net/maison-francis-kurkdjian-advent-calendar-2023/

It's got all of 7 items in it and is an absolute bargain at £950.

I suppose it stops you getting terribly bored between Christmas and new year 😁

MidnightMeltdown · 03/09/2023 12:26

I'll take 3 @OchonAgusOchonOh 😂

That's a fair deal for LF. Works out about £2.76 per draw. There's nothing that especially appeals to me in it though.

Which ones are we waiting for now? Is it just JL, Sephora and LIB? Oh and maybe Boots? They seem to have released earlier than usual this year.

Interesting that LIB contains a Tropic and a Body Shop product this year.

One of the doors is fabric softener! Hope it's an orderly queue!

AnnieSnap · 03/09/2023 12:36

Lookfantastic doesn’t appeal to me (sadly, given the discount). I don’t wear make-up and have a stock of serums. I wish This Works did one. I love their products.

MidnightMeltdown · 03/09/2023 13:07

And there's a mini candle. For £950 you don't even get a full size candle.

I wonder whether they've cleverly reversed the value here. You pay £950 and get £200 worth of stuff. That's something a bit different for those bored with the usual advent calendar format.

Ha ha!

viques · 03/09/2023 13:24

I wonder what the additional surprise is? I suspect it will be a finely crafted bone China mug embellished with the word Sucker.

Mini candle, fabric conditioner, two small room fragrances, who knew that rich people smell so grim!

AprilLady · 03/09/2023 13:33

That MFK calendar is pretty outrageous. I tried to calculate an RRP value, and even at the extortionate MFK prices can’t get close to £950, unless the surprise addition is extraordinary. The room sprays aren’t even sold separately - they’re a GWP with a minimum MFK spend. The 724 perfume was in last year’s Harrods Fragrance calendar and is nothing special in my view. And you can’t go anywhere in London without being accosted by the smell of BR540. The box isn’t even interesting, unlike the rip off Chanel calendar of a couple of years ago which as least had a very collectible No. 5 shaped box.

itsnothingoriginal · 03/09/2023 13:45

Crikey, yes @AprilLady that MFK is surely the 'Chanel' of 2023...I'm surprised there's no stickers in it!!

Interesting about the random Body Shop product in Lookfantastic...I wonder if the owners of LF are eyeing them up now they're looking to sell (again)

Dee1224 · 03/09/2023 15:36

Hi, all - just discovered this thread! I love beauty acs and have to restrain myself from buying too much.

Last year I had the LF one, which I got for under £46 on BF sale, when combined with a £5 credit I had with them. Fantastic! I think I also had the M&S one, but I am not impressed by either this year.

In previous years I have had Rituals, so I picked up the ‘cheapest’ in the Bicester outlet after Xmas and put it away for this year. I have also had H&B calendars, (loved my first one in 2020), but was less impressed by 2021’s so gave last year’s a miss.

I have had ASOS on a couple of occasions, with mixed feelings.

I don’t use brushes or eyebrow products, dry shampoo, false eyelashes or nail stickers or powder, so am trying to avoid calendars with those. I like rollers and the stone scraper things, but don’t need any more🤣. I don’t use Revolution products ever since I read an article about the number of chemicals in them, so they are out too!

The ones I like the look of most are Elemis and Harvey Nichols, but they are pricy.

AnnieSnap · 03/09/2023 15:37

Lookfantastic must have cottoned on to ‘unusual activity’ because no code works for the advent calendar now!

Dee1224 · 03/09/2023 15:46

Apparently last year I also had ASOS - just looked at my order history!
