Thread to discuss and compare 2023 Beauty Advent contents. Started because Liberty has already published their contents.

I’m with you on the La Mer, not exactly a bargain…but I do really love the stuff.

M and s looks good. Waiting on JL.
I’ve pretty much decided to get fortnums fir the cult 51 but may get 2 (or 3).

Jewellery and gloves definitely not appealing to me!

I think advent calendar curators have cottoned on to the fact that we all have too many beauty products. Still, I don't want random crap in my calendar. Jewellery is very personal. If I wanted jewellery I'd choose it myself!

Really liking that M&S are doing their AC in something that you can use again after.
Last years M&S drawer box I keep my jewellery in.

I really enjoyed M&S last year so will definitely buy that. I was considering treating myself to one of the real luxury calendars this year but to be honest they just don't never get me that excited for the price I'm paying. I also know I won't spend that sort of money to buy the individual products, I actually get enjoyment out of buying excellent skincare at affordable prices which is pretty easy to do these days.

Me too. That big tin from a couple of years ago has proved very useful for keeping my beauty product stash in.

I still have the tin, all our sunscreen lives in it :) I hated last year's box though, the bottom drawer on mine broke the first time I opened it (the ribbon came off).

The gloves in the NAP one are very random given that not everyone has the same sized hands. I'll probably get M&S this year, I didn't get one last time.

NAP has earrings in so that's out for me. Also I have small hands so the gloves likely won't fit, not sure what they were thinking with the random extras!

SpaceNK still my front runner but I'm not mega excited about it. Holding out for HN (though I did sign up to the SpaceNK waitlist just in case... and then I wondered, if enough people do that, will they make loads, not sell them and discount them??).

NAP is a complete disappointment for me and was top of my list for this year. 24 Day calendars piss me off so 15 days is just unimaginable! Also AB cream again?! Am now holding out for JL, maybe Selfridges or CB.

Yes, it's like they had a marketing meeting where everyone was urged to shake things up and think outside the box.

Grey gloves and a bum candle is a bit 'Look what I found on a random shelf at TK Maxx'

They actually look a bit like the super-stretchy kind you get at supermarkets, for children.

I assumed the gloves were those exfoliating ones you can buy in the Body Shop or Boots? To be used in the shower.

NAP looks very strange to me, I can't imagine who it might appeal to. If it was heavily reduced after Christmas I'd get it for the Sarah Chapman overnight facial but that's the only product that appeals to me.

My initial reaction to NAP was 'wtf' but actually it depends on the price. I expect it'll be too £££ for what you get. But then, random shelf on TK Maxx is a good analogy @LemonJuiceFromConcentrate and the reason I buy a beauty advent calendar every year is because I get fed up of random assortments of stuff as gifts.

I actually have some sympathy with NAP’s approach. Their 2021 and 2022 calendars were pretty decent, but they struggled to shift them and ended up discounting them heavily in January.

So this time it’s not really an advent calendar at all. I actually like CT palettes, and rate most Pat McG and WA make up, so those look good. I also like and use the AB cream, so even though rather ubiquitous I’m not unhappy when it is included. Jewellery looks ok, but unless the gloves are cashmere they’re a rather weird addition. Will be interesting to see how it’s priced.

Looking forward to the other reveals - especially CB and JL. Hopefully fairly soon now.

Just realised the premium one isn't on the waitlist. But it's not on the UK one either so we will need to wait and see. Fingers crossed.
