Thread to discuss and compare 2023 Beauty Advent contents. Started because Liberty has already published their contents.

Some of these posts have tickled me because we all start by saying, nope not buying one this year, and you all know we will 😂

What's your thoughts on Libertys new kit? Hopefully I've attached the image correctly. Me thinks this in comparison makes the advent look more attractive haha

I didn’t say that last year. I was champing at the bit for the Liberty calendar. Unless JL appeals I definitely won’t be having one this year. I suspect they’ll all up their game next year because they’re a much harder sell now there’s less money sloshing around.

Just been checking out the Benefit calendar for my DD but what is a 'fun size' product? Seems to be quite a few of them for £145 🤔

I really love the bag in the new Liberty woo-kit, very Leo, which is what I’d be if I were a believer, but £70 for a wash bag (with my tenner off) seems a bit steep. Might be one of those kits they have to heavily reduce in a few weeks’ time.

“Fun-sized” means small. I got a 12-day AC in the sales last winter and it was all extremely useful and useable, and iirc all “fun-sized” (apart from the obligatory unwanted heavy black eyeliner). It’s a good brand, one of my favourites, but £145 seems steep to me.

I’d use everything in that Benefit AC! And not a black eyeliner in sight, unless I missed it in the list of contents. The Porefessional primer is like magic.

Not a kit for me unfortunately, I do love and use Charlotte Mensah products (which have the most divine smell) and would recommend for any curly heads out there. Otherwise nothing of interest to me. I'm starting to get excited about my homemade calendar now.

@MavisMcMinty if it's just the washbag you like, and the kit doesn't get reduced, look on Ebay. My discovery through Liberty AC disappointment this year has been people are buying these kits to specifically resell items individually. Same with GWP. Have seen lots of the washbags so I expect you'll be able to get it on there for £20-30 very shortly.

Tried to find this online and it's been pulled from the website - comes up in Google results but then the link goes to a Page not Found error! Wonder if it's sold out already?!

Hmmm I don't know why I don't get these emails - am opted-in on my Liberty account! Can't find it anywhere in my inbox or junk. Ah well, probably for the best on the old bank account front.

You should be able to get the wash bag for closer to £15 including postage on eBay.

I see that Sephora AC contents is out and a few others. Glossybox has a waitlist for details, I got last year's for about £40 as it didn't shift at full price

@QueefofSheena where did you find the Sephora content I can only find last years - I had it last year and it was great so curious to see if this years is as good

Yes, the liberty GWP in September, used to be the absolute benchmark, but I am doubting I will go for it this year for the first time in forever partly because I have way too much stuff that needs using up, partly because Liberty no longer stocks brands that I used to buy religiously from them eg Eve Lom. I will keep an eye on this thread but pretty sure I will cope without an advent calendar this year. 😅

We’re very quiet this year! I wonder if it’s still too early for it.

H&B doesn’t appeal to me and that’s usually my safe option. Seems very repetitive.

The Jo Malone one looks nice but far too pricey.

Body shop I wouldn’t get again. I’m still working my way through the minis.

Is anyone tempted by any of the cult beauty edits?

I couldn't pass up a 50% off flash deal on the Latest in Beauty 'Get the Gloss' edit. It should arrive soon.

The Cult Beauty hydration edit looks really good to me, but I'm holding off and waiting for more advent calendar reveals.

I have liked everything I've had from Lumene, so I might go for that one even though the sizes are usually tiny, or M&S if theirs looks nice this year. Or a DIY one with some products I already have in my stash (like my new LiB ones). Can't afford a super expensive one this year unfortunately.

I like the look of Jo Malone and Jo Loves…but what were they thinking with the baubles?? Plus, they’re very expensive.

I really don’t need an excess amount of facial products as I have loads from last year and I’ve just purchased one of the Sisley anti-age serums that was stupidly expensive..I’m just struggling with the gravity situation right now, not sure black eyeliner and CT make up will help in that direction. I’d rather one fab product than 24 so so. Not the spirit, I know 😁

First year I’ve been this underwhelmed, usually chomping at the bit right now!

I'm tempted by several of the Cult Beauty edits but I REALLY don't need anything right now. I might take a closer look at some of them and work out their value to me but I really should hold off buying anything until the Liberty GWP.

The Cult Beauty Edits look good but I seriously don’t need a thing. So resisting is quite easy.

Have you seen contents for H&B yet? I've only seen what's on beautyadventcalendar.net which is just an indication of contents. I think I might go for it this year - it's a very functional rather than luxurious calendar but good value.
