Thread to discuss and compare 2023 Beauty Advent contents. Started because Liberty has already published their contents.

Still plenty of them to come out!

These are the very things that attracted me to it, I can only put so much stuff on my face, but baths and candles are perfect for me. Horses for courses I suppose!

Yes, as far as I’m concerned any autumnal/wintery weather day is candle and bath season. Whereas if I was after rebooting my make up I’d go for something else.

Yes, I'm also in the candle fan group.

Not that I've given up on buying an AC but I've been putting my own together, just in case and ebay/vinted has been a gold mine. Admittedly, think I might be late to this party in that I imagine you already know this but people seem to sell almost all of the AC contents. Some are even selling old complete ACs heavily reduced - am slightly baffled by this but anyway. If theres a previous one you wish you bought and none are piquing your interest this year, might be worth a look.

I get it probably isn't as luxurious a feeling being sent your AC from Bob in Bognor rather than Liberty directly though.

I've found some really good deals on candles from Diptyque, Boy Smells and Liberty. I personally like the ACs for the trying of new products rather than the bargain element and so am less interested in full size products but also don't want the tiny 8ml versions as like a proper trial. I've put together an AC now of (mainly small version) products I will really enjoy and am going to buy myself 3 good full size products using my BD credit to open on XMAS Day, New Years Day and 31st Jan.

Will probably still end up buying an AC after all this 🙄

Talking about boy smells and Vinted I got a 65ml Edp last week still sealed for £27! Super chuffed with that one.

@CinnamonCoffee that is a steal! I've bought a couple of the sealed triple candle sets on Ebay for £25.00, still on SpaceNK for £68. These have gone in my AC but bought a few extra sets as xmas gifts.

@CinnamonCoffee It was this with the 20% off quite a few available. Shipping is a bit of a bump but if you're buying several, and not too bad when compared to the massive bargain.

@Twinsandsome The Kate Somerville goats milk cleanser, Farmacy cleansing balm and the Paula’s Choice azelaic acid are all favourites of mine, plus there are lots of other things I like the look of, like the Necesaire and the Tatcha, plus I would like to try a Charlotte Tilbury eye palette.

I still haven't made up my mind about Space NK. I would like to see JL and Cult Beauty before I decide on that one. I would also be interested in what Sephora do.

I will get M&S unless they massively hike up the price.

I may also get one other - possibly a indulgent bathing one such as Rituals or Body Shop.

Have never bought a beauty advent calendar before.
Like the sound of the M and S one. How much does it usually cost?

It's usually £40 but the catch is you have to spend a certain amount on clothing or home to get it for that price. Usually £35-£40.

I'd echo the previous posts. Paula's Choice Azelaic, Medik8 Crystal Retinol, Kate Somerville Goatmilk Cleanser and the Drunk Elephant Lala cream are all things I use regularly. But I have used and really rate the 111 masks, Sunday Riley and Niod serums and I love anything Tatcha. Overall it's a really, really strong selection, but I've tried most of it so I probably wont bother.

Also, thanks @magicalkitty I'll probably order that candle. I forget TK Maxx exists as the one near me is like the last days of Rome.

I was saving all my Liberty BD for the calendar but I think I'm going to see what shows up in the anticipated September GWP.

I had the M&S one a few years ago, and an ASOS one a while back and both were lovely. The Liberty one was always my holy grail and I enjoyed it, quite a lot went into the family Christmas stockings and I think I'm ok for 'luxe' now. I can probably go with M&S and still enjoy it...
