Also woke up early and mulled over some Lilac Falke socks and the Landscape dress that were back in stock but urge to buy appears to have dropped off a bit now.

NotAMinimalist1 · 14/07/2023 09:07

@Countmeout The boat neck jumper arrived and immediately went back. Boxy, almost cropped fit with weirdly long arms. And itchy like you wouldn’t believe. Loved the colour though and would say it was fairly accurate to the flat lay image rather than the model images. I ordered the blue.

The Wool Cashmere Raglan Cardigan I also ordered in the Ginger Melange colour was so soft but the colour, sadly, was an odd rusty brown, not the lovely mustard ochre colour I see on screen. Oh well. Epic fail on the new drop so far.

Dee1224 · 14/07/2023 09:08

I was tempted by those socks too @Stoic123 . I love lilac.

Re the new season stuff, I really like the Fayre dress Reviews say it is tight in the bodice but didn't look it on the Toast live.

Also like this take on the Maya

I like the new season dungarees too.

Will have to wait for the next sale though as all spent out!

I have the Fayre dress in blue and I’m delighted with it. I’m very hit and miss with Toast dresses, they are sometimes too tight across the bust or too voluminous but this style works for me. Perhaps a teeny tight when buttons are all done up but I much prefer an open neck look (and sleeves rolled/pushed up ) so this is not an issue for me. Beautiful quality fabric and fit and the blue is gorgeous if that’s your colour. I just wear it with plimsolls/sandals, no other accessories required. Very easy to wear. Bought my usual size.

Countmeout · 14/07/2023 09:24

Oh no @NotAMinimalist thats disappointing. Thanks for letting me know how it was.

I woke but rolled over so thankfully missed the restock. It must end soon !

The saga of the Fracap Ink shoes continues. I’ve had an email from someone different in customer service saying:

“Due to the natural vegetable tan used on the shoes this in time can cause colour fading which we believes adds characteristics to the shoe. You can opt to use blue polish to add colour back to the shoes.”

Firstly this is not made clear on the product page, and I’m not sure how changing from blue to brown is 'adding characteristics' , if I buy a blue shoe I want it to stay blue.
Secondly, they seem to be unaware that I have already been asked to return the shoes, which I did on Wednesday.

BettinaInDenmark · 14/07/2023 09:38

I am in love with lots of the summer styles, that have not gone on sale. I cannot remember if there use to be a sale at the end of summer? Or do we have to wait till around November?
If I recall correctly, there are sometimes an extra sale with a 20% discount code?

Dee1224 · 14/07/2023 10:07

@BettinaInDenmark - looking at my orders last year, I think there was a shorter ‘end of summer’ sale late August/early September.

If that happens this year, I will be hoping to see the high clogs appear - I tried them on in store in dark green and loved them!

Dee1224 · 14/07/2023 10:10

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - tbh, rather than trying to defend themselves, better customer service, (regardless of their opinion on the matter), should be to offer you a full refund or exchange as they have clearly changed colour and you are understandably not happy!

Toast customer services are usually pretty good, so I hope you get a satisfactory response soon.

That's NOT an acceptable explanation. I think it's to palm you off. It may someone else has replied not realising that you've had a prior conversation that has led you to return the shoes. I would definitely email Toast back saying what you said here.
Not as described / fit for purpose comes to mind. Blue shoes turning brown? No way! Dig your heels in, pardon the pun 😃

BettinaInDenmark · 14/07/2023 10:25

@Dee1224 Thanks for the info! I have my eyes on some of the dresses...

Dee1224 · 14/07/2023 10:37

Is that the elm @ilovecherries ? I love that dress, but I am far too short for it to work🙁.

AmethystMoonShine · 14/07/2023 11:09

@ScottishMouse just in case it's of interest...I had an email from Saltwater Sandals yesterday which says they're now running a scheme in partnership with another company where you send them your old worn out Saltwater sandals and they give you a £10 voucher towards a new pair.

They've got quite good discounts on some of their sandals at the moment too.

ScottishMouse · 14/07/2023 11:40

Thanks @AmethystMoonShine , I got that email too. I actually clicked through to try and see if I could send mine in, but I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how, that option didn’t seem to be available (or clear where it was). I’ll see what the Sturlini sandals are like, and I also have a Birkenstock pair on the way too to consider. If neither work, I’ll try again with the saltwater x reskinned thing.
In case anyone is interested, I have bought two Finisterre jackets (and another 2 for my OH) from Reskinned, and it worked brilliantly. They were basically perfect, couldn’t even tell they were preloved, and so much cheaper than full price. Haven’t tried any of the other brands through them.

dudsville · 14/07/2023 11:45

@Stoic123 and @Dee1224 , i have those socks in a dark green from this sale, they are really nice.

Lovely toast on holiday pic @ilovecherries !

I recieved a few things today, the jasper socks which went straight in the drawer. The cords in oil are a very dark green which I don't like. I also stupidly ordered the new range boatneck, the dark blue one. I did this because I love the landscape so much, but that itch is now scratched as this just wasn't special for me.

dudsville · 14/07/2023 11:48

annoyingly I pressed paperless QR code, which my local little post office isn't fond of. I'll try them tomorrow after I recieve the shorts and dungarees tomorrow that I also expect I'll be sending back.

ToastCosILoveIt · 14/07/2023 12:36

This will make you all chuckle. I have been back and forth to my Shelter Boutique shop with lots of clothes as I am having a major, major clear out (lots to be posted on the Facebook Toast page soon). I took the latest load in the lovely blue linen enormous shoulder bag which sold out almost as soon as it went up for sale. Anyway, the woman in Shelter asked me if I “needed the bag back”. I almost choked on the question. I am really pleased to be supporting my local Shelter but that bag is way to precious and too loved to part with!

dudsville · 14/07/2023 12:43

😂@ToastCosILoveIt ! I bet they love your donations regardless of the bag being included! The last time I did a big clear out they invited me to come back in future!

I probably need to do another clear out but I'm really torn. n the past it's been to get rid of thigns that don't work for me in some way. I now have a big store of things that I like but don't choose, so they're clutter my wardrobe. I've put them up and out of the way, but I don't know what to do with them. Perhaps I should at least go through to see if there's stucc I can let go of.

faustina · 14/07/2023 12:56

@ilovecherries - that looks so nice on you. I've looked at that dress so many times as part of my 'do I want another dress I won't wear' strategy.

one of my parcels got sent to the wrong place by mistake, and it's the one I want to try most. the blue slubby shirt - grr!

The black coffee linen shirt is a very strange shape - the top half is tiny - it just about buttons up without gaping, but I can't raise my arms in it - and then the bottom half flares out in an odd way. So that's going back. You were all so complimentary about it, I wonder if I got a dud?

Still can't decide about the navy cotton linen tie neck. Unhelpful that it's raining and grim today which makes everything harder

@ScottishMouse what size are your Saltwaters? I bought some in a 6 in navy and I couldn't get on with them as too flat so they're on my list to Ebay as I only wore them twice

Going to road test my boden waterproof cape today!

MiracleToast · 14/07/2023 13:07

@faustina i sized up in the linen shirt

Toast dress on its holidays.

Looking good
Thats one of the dresses that I bought 2 of (by mistake)
My sister is very pleased as we are the same size

faustina · 14/07/2023 13:10

@MiracleToast - thanks. How many sizes up did you go from your regular toast size? There's still a small left but going on how small the xs was, I'm wondering if it's worth trying that?

faustina · 14/07/2023 13:11

I will try it again later and have a think.

MiracleToast · 14/07/2023 13:15

I am a regular life 10 and 5’9 and in old toast sizing a 8 or S. I got the linen shirts in a M
