In the photos posted she had no work done at that point - when are the photos from? This week? Because she looks less lined now at Glastonbury than in the photos

TV lighting is very flattering. She's on the cover of Good Housekeeping this month complete with photoshopping.

I find it depressing that women won't accept that a woman near to 60 can look great with a good diet, exercise and a zest for life. They've been doing it for decades but some of you are adamant it's due to "subtle work"

Sorry, you can believe it’s TV lighting and a zest for life. It’s actually encouraging people believe this. It shows subtle work can be done well.

Exercise has zero impact on the lines and wrinkles on the face so it’s not that! She has a fantastic, toned body nobody is arguing against that.

Some posters appear to be confusing body/style with face. Nobody is saying a 58 year old can’t have a good body and great style. But very few will have zero jowls or sagging/ very few wrinkles and look a good ten years younger without a few tweaks. Especially when they actually look younger than they did a few years ago..

Clymene · 27/06/2023 23:39

A very non identifying photo of a 58 year old woman. No work at all. I don't know anyone who has 'work' but we all look like this @Delatron. Yes, we have lines and sun damage but we don't have terrible sagging jowls or whatever else you think women of our age should have.

Women don't need cosmetic surgery

JaneJeffer · 28/06/2023 00:26

She looks perfectly natural and work free to me

I would be surprised if she hasn’t had some subtle work done. I think most people in the public eye has and it can look very good and natural.

Honeybeegood2mee · 28/06/2023 01:05

I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't have work done. Jo looks very natural and guessing, she keeps herself fit. Unlike Amanda Holden, queen of botox, super smooth and frozen smile and forehead.

Delatron · 28/06/2023 07:12

I didn’t say ‘terrible sagging’!

The definition of good work is that you can’t tell. Most women in the public eye 40+ will have had things done. You just clock the ones that have overdone it.

Really nothing wrong with a sprinkle of Botox and some other treatments that tighten such as RF, micrneedling, lasers.

I see it’s out of stock at Harrolds so I’ll have to have a rethink!

She is absolutely beautiful, and is a talented woman who has had an amazing career in a male dominated industry. I for one don’t begrudge her having lovely dresses ffs. Why are there always women ready to put other women down.

I also love Jo as she talks openly about the challenges of having a sibling with disabilities. That’s important work. I luffs her!

This is also what I came to say (not the out of stock bit). She is brilliant in all ways and I am in love with her wardrobe!!

AgnesNaismith · 28/06/2023 07:21

Fuck, this took a gross misogynistic turn didn’t it?

Fuck, this took a gross misogynistic turn didn’t it?

er..no. Just an age related debate.

AgnesNaismith · 28/06/2023 14:29

Would you do this to a man?

Okaydonkey · 28/06/2023 14:49

Martin Clunes tried to write off Botox and fillers against his tax and ended up in court over it.
So, I think it’s fair to say most men and women, in the public eye will look at treatments to hold on to their youth.
Good work will make you look refreshed, bad will make you look odd.

I’ll go further, if you know reasonably wealthy people who never seem to age, they are at it too. Very occasionally it will be good genes but not often!

Jo Whitley looks comfortable in her own skin, enhanced or not, it’s very attractive and that’s what I admire.

Delatron · 28/06/2023 15:44

I would discuss if a man was looking good too. And discuss all aspects - clothes, does he work out, has he had any work done as many men do. It’s just general chit chat.

Nobody is criticising. I think Jo Whiley looks amazing full stop.

AgnesNaismith · 28/06/2023 14:29

Would you do this to a man?

I would if I was a man but I'm a woman, so I look at other women around a similar age to me.

Itsaknotat · 28/06/2023 15:50

I think she's had a tiny bit of light botox in her forehead but not to completely get rid of lines. She's had nothing round her eyes and there's zero evidence of mid face filler. No signs of thread lift or face lift either. She's not had her lips done but she's definitely had her teeth done, which makes a huge difference if done well. Her skin tone is lovely, so maybe lasers and peels but that's it.

Superdupes · 28/06/2023 16:00

I think she looks amazing and definitely not her age - but the dress and trainers made me think student toga party.

AgnesNaismith · 28/06/2023 16:45

And how would you feel if you were Jo and read this thread?

AgnesNaismith · 28/06/2023 16:45

And how would you feel if you were Jo and read this thread?

Overall, pretty good. Why?

She doesn't seem like someone to sweat the small stuff, but pretty much everything on here has been positive.

Delatron · 28/06/2023 16:53

Considering how many people say she looks amazing I think she’d be pretty happy.

Odd person doesn’t get her style which I doubt she’d care about.

AgnesNaismith · 28/06/2023 16:45

And how would you feel if you were Jo and read this thread?

Well, apart from a bit scrutinised, pretty good overall. She's getting a lot of love. I happen to also think she's awesome. A woman at the top of her game who's intelligent and sparky and has a voice. However, this is style and beauty.

Ooh I loved the frothy green/blue dress! Happy to see it’s got a thread

BeatriceBatchelor · 28/06/2023 17:13

@Delatron I think we're both right! In the interest of research I googled Jo and Botox. She says she tried Botox once and it was weird but she has CACI (?) and some other stuff that I copied and forgot to paste.

Was in DM a couple of years ago. So she keeps the crows feet round her eyes as i don't know how you'd get rid of those and lines round her cheeks but makes the remaining skin look good?

I'm actually starting to feel a bit grubby discussing a woman in this way!

Delatron · 28/06/2023 17:33

@BeatriceBatchelor Yes CACI is quite good for facial tightening. And she definitely has left the lines around her eyes alone which so what makes her look so natural.

You do find a lot of Celebrities say ‘oh I tried Botox and it made me look weird’ see Gwynth Pathrow then a few years later they try again. My honest opinion is she’s had a very light touch in the forehead to soften lines rather than remove. This looks natural but stops lines getting worse.

I know what you mean but I think we are all chatting about it purely as she looks so good and we want to know the secret. Is it good genes, lifestyle or a light touch of work?’
