That montage looks like Elizabeth Holmes. Sometimes she goes for a reach too far!

Spudlet · 24/06/2023 13:29

It was Elizabeth Holmes (I follow her on instagram). I love her feed and attention to detail, but in this instance I do hope she warmed up properly before that stretch 😂

She has also decided that the past few Ascot outfit colours (as it happens, blue, white, then red in consecutive years) signify the Union flag - like, dude. Really?!

hopeishere · 24/06/2023 16:02

Yeah Elizabeth Holmes definitely sees some stuff that's not there IMHO!!

Plus, scroll down the article for a great picture of the late Queen riding at full pelt down the track in 1960!

That’s the face of a woman in her happy place if ever I saw one ❤️

Maireas · 24/06/2023 16:52

Isn't it, @Spudlet ?! Such a lovely picture.

There's also lovely photos of Charles and Camilla enjoying Sophie and Gabriella's company! Looks like they're having a right laugh.

Eaumyword · 24/06/2023 17:21

Ooh I like Sophie W's yellow dress 🤩

DuchessOfPort · 24/06/2023 17:54

Sophie Winkleman looks great - love the yellow. It annoys me that there isn’t anyone among the DM editors who can keep tabs on correct titles and I’m sure she’s Lady Frederick. I’m only saying this with any confidence as Harriet Vane became Lady Peter in Busman’s Honeymoon…

KillingMeDeftly · 24/06/2023 18:02

You are right and the Fail fails again @DuchessOfPort!

Maireas · 24/06/2023 18:20

Indeed! She's Lady Frederick Windsor.
I noticed Gabriella and her husband were also part of the carriage ride.

I love the yellow dress, very pretty. It looks familiar, has Kate or someone else worn the same dress in a different colour?
I noticed Charles and Mike both wore a muted stone/sage based colour scheme this week at some point and I really liked it. Looked very smart and a change from the brighter or stronger colours sometimes chosen.

KillingMeDeftly · 24/06/2023 22:22

Sophie's dress does look familiar - perhaps the buttons make it look like a yellow version of Kate's green Wimbledon dress from a few years ago?

I don't like the pillbox hat - they always make me think of cabin crew in 1960s films!

IGoWalkingAfterMidnight · 24/06/2023 23:13

The yellow dress looks like the Beulah London Ahana dress worn in pink by Kate M and in a long sleeved light blue by Beatrice.

KillingMeDeftly · 25/06/2023 08:59

Kate's done a Wimbledon video with Roger Federer and naturally looks great in her tennis whites!

Serenster · 25/06/2023 09:13

Looks great in her tennis strokes too, and just casually sticking her arm out to catch a tennis ball. Excellent hand-eye co-ordination.

Maireas · 25/06/2023 09:25

She looks great, very happy and her posture and walk are so much better. Is it because she's more comfortable? Is she still very anxious about her public role?

OP posts:
KillingMeDeftly · 25/06/2023 10:26

I think she's happiest at sporty engagements and she seems naturally athletic. And she's more comfortable and confident in her role too, after 12 years.

Maireas · 25/06/2023 10:28

Yes. Years ago, someone who knew her well said "Kate's not a show off" I know what they mean, she's not really an extrovert in that sense and she's had to tread carefully in the role.

Sons partner did a degree in fashion and marketing. They touched on our royals and fashion v European royals. She said that once the brits find their style, designer they stick with them for life. They're not adventurous and wear clothes that suit their shape.

Diana was a trend setter she started the hoodie, shorts and trainers trend for the gym that's worn to this day . I didn't know that. But I remember the velvet ribbon, the pantaloons, necklaces worn as hair bands. Which were copied everywhere.

Now European royal women are much more interesting Max, Mathilde, Leti, even Margarethe are applauded by designers for their attitude to fashion, style, fabrics, colours, chopping and changing their look all the time.

Americans are conservative as well. They do casuals best

We had a long chat while son tried to fix my phone 🤣🤣

Maireas · 25/06/2023 11:36

Diana didn't start the hoodie, shorts and trainers trend. That was common in the early 80s, long before her publicised visits to gyms.

I saw the video too. Her stance and movements just look relaxed and open, she just seems to be more in her comfort zone in that type of situation. Looks great too.

eggandonion · 25/06/2023 12:23

I loved Diana's early pie crust collars and velvet knickerbocker days. Adam and the Ants style!
