I've been googling Ascot historically. Very interesting. Princess Grace of Monaco was in a royal carriage in the past as well as other interesting personages.

Fun Ascot-fashion fact: it’s traditional for gentlemen not to do up the bottom button on their waistcoats with the trend set by the then Prince of Wales (later Edward VII) who most likely couldn’t do his up due to his large stomach 😜

Definitely got the hat right, we’ll see on the skirt when she gets out!

Yes, if a woman outranks her husband then she gets to keep her first name on these occasions! I think it's the same if you're a Duke's daughter and marry a mere Earl or Viscount. Eg if Karen Spencer's father was a duke then she'd be formally referred to as Lady Karen Spencer rather than Lady Spencer.

Zara has looked lovely the last two days (we’ll draw a veil over the Anaïs Anaïs outfit…). I love the navy and green together, am thinking of doing the same colour combination for a wedding I’m going to next year!

That wasn’t Sarah today - she branched out! Well, she wore a dress …. in exactly the same silhouette. 🤣 Lovely jewels though. She also had on her other’s pear and diamond earrings.

I can confirm that Sarah does indeed wear that kind of outfit day to day. I used to see her occasionally and she was invariably wearing a full skirt and little cardigan or jacket. More low key, but definitely her style.

Actually that photo of her is at the coronation, not at Ascot today!

This was her today. Same dress and hat as the coronation but slightly different jewellery.
