@dudsville I copied the Toast ‘on location picture’ of the model draped in a doorway in the floral nightie, pj bottoms and the matching gown - which convinced that I had to buy all three items! Sadly I am neither in a romantic and beautiful location nor tall and thin, but everything else I have nailed🤣

I do the same with the yellow painted falls nightie and bottoms, which means that I now have two pj tops that I really need to start wearing - possibly as summer tops now the sun has finally come out!

Keeping my fingers crossed for Pond in the sale, a tee and some more linen trousers 🤞

dudsville · 10/06/2023 18:04

🤣@Dee1224, sounds fabulous nonetheless!

I've been looking at that jacket @ScottishMouse , and it's a shame about your ikat one.

I saw the red check trousers are coming back - those of you who have them, how are you wearing them? I try to avoid niche items but i love the look of these.

agnesmartin · 10/06/2023 18:53

I have my eye on that light blue jacket too. Looks like it could be really useful.

I'm wearing the brown tank top, thought I'd try a few tops pre-sale and this is one I'd be happy to pay full price for. Soft, thick fabric. Very useful colour. Paired with sunflower trousers from Lucy&Yak and bright yellow toenails! ☀️

During my top trying on sesh, I learned that my broad shoulders don't suit raglan sleeves. Shouldn't probably been obvious! Liked the chambray shirt apart of how it looked on me. Found the tie area too thick and stiff on the other one.

Well, all of my excitement over the lovely new Selma dresses has come to nothing sadly. This is supposed to be the updated smaller sizing so I ordered my usual Toast size 12 and my RL size 14. Well, the 14 (in cream/brown) was huge, I can’t see any evidence of adjusted sizing at all.

The navy in size 12 is absolutely beautiful from the front - great fit, lovely pattern. However I think because the fabric is poplin, it doesn’t drape at all. So the gathered waist at the back poofs out in a really unflattering way - it was difficult to take a picture but I think you’ll get the idea. Sadly they’re going back. Devastated!

I wear them with a black t-shirt or my brown emma tee [It is a coffee brown] They are lovely trousers. I avoid the PJ look by putting on black chunky sandals.

dudsville · 10/06/2023 19:31

That's a shame@Saurus72 if you don't like them but i think the blue one looks great on you.

@neveradullmoment99 , that's helpful, i have a black easy tee that i love the shape of, and I have black arizonas. I'm also thinking the brown tank @agnesmartin has posted above might be a good match, I've been wondering if these more fitted higher neck tanks might be a solution to what i could wear under the sleeveless dresses. Glad to read that you rate it @agnesmartin !

dudsville · 10/06/2023 19:35

What do you think? I also have dark brown suede arizonas. Actually i might just go ahead and buy this now.

dudsville · 10/06/2023 19:41

How very annoying, i didn't realise that tank was selling out. Back to black it is!

agnesmartin · 10/06/2023 19:47

Gosh - they've gone quickly! Don't remember them being low when I ordered a few days ago. If you're felling very brave / not giving a toss you could try the mint colour. I think it could just work with the red - and then at the very least you'll know the shape and if you like it what size would work if it comes back in stock.

Countmeout · 10/06/2023 19:48

I noticed those red check trousers were back @dudsville but couldn’t think how to wear them. Would navy go with them too?
I bring these out every year, bought on eBay a couple of years ago for a really good price . I like the cut of them.

I could just be premenstrual! 😆😆😆

dudsville · 10/06/2023 19:55

I think the trousers are already loud so the mint would be a stretch for me! I know though, I'm sure i looked perhaps even only 2 days ago and they'd not sold out of any size!

ToastCosILoveIt · 10/06/2023 11:32

Today I'm wearing this dress from last year. Can't remember what it's called but it's sleeveless and loose and swishes when you walk: so comfortable. This is a picture of me in the garden, sitting down, legs resting on a high chair. It's too hot for anything else.

I bought that on eBay last week, but I’ve had to put it in to the dressmakers just to get taken in a bit. It had passed oversized and gone into seriously too big territory. Can’t wait to get it back. This is what I’m wearing today.

Cherries, you were looking for that dress weren't you? Well done for finding it!

I also have a massive wishlist. I really need someone to stop me from buying things I'll never wear. Thank goodness for free returns!

ToastCosILoveIt · 10/06/2023 20:55

@ilovecherries well done for tracking this down. I checked my size on the dress: it is a 10 and I am a high street 12. It looks good with the belt tied around the waist if you want a more streamlined look. I hope it thoroughly lives up to your expectations.

Yes! I got it on vinted in the end. It was slightly too big but I got it back from the dressmaker today when I dropped the elm one off. She was commenting on how beautiful the seams were on Toast dresses - she said it wasn’t a brand she was familiar with till so started taking things in to her. Still stalking a Tala dress!

Hi all, can I join in? I love toast and jumpsuits and have just ordered this one https://www.toa.st/products/garment-dyed-linen-side-button-jumpsuit-midnight It's pricey but I tend to wear them forever.

That’s lovely fufferpish. Is it easy to get in and out of? I have the drawstring linen one with the shirt sleeves, so comfy.

Argh, I posted the wrong link, it's this one: https://www.toa.st/collections/womens-jumpsuits/products/tie-waist-garment-dyed-linen-jumpsuit-midnight

I have just ordered it, and it will be my 3rd jumpsuit from Toast. They're generally lovely and easy to get in and out of since they have a front (button) closure. Will take a pic once it arrives!

Ha, that’s the one I have! It’s lovely.

I've also noticed a few acid colours too in tops and a skirt visible in a photo but not on the site yet. They're not for me. I though this most recent drop a very unusual mix of colours.

I noticed they haven't done a belted printed button through shirt dress this year. I have 3 of these, the vine print, the aster and last years with the lemons. In fact I'm wearing the Aster today, with yellow moheda heeled sandals, which match the yellow flowers perfectly. I've stood the collar at the back and tried a new belting technique which a lady showed me in a shop a couple of weeks ago which suits wider belts. It makes it sit really neatly without getting crumpled syndrome.

Can I ask what is the fit like on the aster dress? Esp vitally round the waist (not my strongest point)? I’ve been stalking one on vinted.

OP posts:
Noeggsontoast · 11/06/2023 08:25

@ilovecherries it's a relaxed/easy fit around the waist, but neat on the shoulders and bust. I always wear it with the belt for a more defined waist. I took my usual Toast size, a size down would have been too small.

It's a lovely dress, always get a compliment when wearing and such cheery colours.

FufferPish · 11/06/2023 08:30

What is the smallest sizing like? Toast mention a new sizing system but it looks like they have mostly added more smaller sizes.

Snowyowl78 · 11/06/2023 08:39

@FufferPish i have that jumpsuit too- it’s quite generous with the sizing but that’s ok because you pull it in with the ties. Easy to get on and off!

I’ve got the mint of that vest on the way, I was planning just to try it on for size really as a precursor to a sale but no doubt I’ll end up keeping it if it’s really great. Toast vests are the only ones that look ok on me!
