Thank you for making me laugh @dudsville (I have just had an absolutely dreadful morning at work and am back cruising the sale to distract myself!)

Dee1224 · 21/06/2023 13:56

I don’t understand why Toast aren’t putting the returns back into the sale / they are usually so quick at doing this 🙃

My sister has just got the Lotus Leaf gown. It’s beautiful and looks so good on her. I want it myself, but think it probably suits her more as she is blonde. (Just as well, as I can’t have any more gowns…this year🤣)

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 21/06/2023 13:42

That’s bad sending out trousers with a stain, can’t believe nobody noticed.

My replacement hiker boots arrived today so I’ve sent the faulty ones back. I haven’t received any refunds for my other returns yet, hopefully it will be quite quick.

Refunds seem to be really fast at the moment. I returned a dress on Saturday and it was refunded yesterday, I ordered a replacement at the same time and it arrived this morning.

Dee1224 · 21/06/2023 14:05

Still waiting for my refund🙃

Stoic123 · 21/06/2023 14:15

@dudsville - I keep on being drawn to the Yak. What size did you order and what is the colour like in RL?

I'm similar size to you (top 12/bottom 14) and like a relaxed fit jumper.

Saurus72 · 21/06/2023 14:22

@Dee1224 Ditto with the utterly dreadful work day. More socks ordered (plus some Sweaty Betty yoga pants). Very practical things. No fripperies no sirree. I need to make it to the end of the week without losing my mind/saying something I’ll regret so I’d shopping helps then it’s for the greater good 😬

Dee1224 · 21/06/2023 14:58

I feel your pain @Saurus72 - fingers crossed for a better day tomorrow 🤞

Saurus72 · 21/06/2023 15:01

You too 🤗

lordloveadog · 21/06/2023 15:32

Strangely like a pp my most successful sale delivery was my final wildcard one, not the things I thought were most likely to work.

The Drawstring Waist Denim Dress was great. Good on curves. Bit widening on hips but ok and a tough fabric that will be very useful for days when doing lots of things around house but also wanting to look respectable. Really generous cut and I imagine it would be swamping if not quite tall. The low v neck is very good on wide shoulders and large bust.

Reed Ikat Cotton Trousers are lovely - but how on earth they thought they could sell them at full price I do not know. Informal summer cotton trousers. Quite generous cut because not all Toast trousers fit me. Good and flattering on hourglass. Not so much silly baggy tummy as some recent styles.

Collared Loop Back Cotton Sweatshirt and Round Collar Stripe Cotton Tee | Putty/Mineral Blue both nice useful tops.

Wool Tencel High Neck Tee in sale a good price for a wool base layer in a nice colour.

After a couple of years of Toast sales - in combination with good income at last and not gaining any more weight - I'm beginning to have plenty of clothes that I really like. It's very nice having just the right thing for any occasion, instead of being invited out and thinking oh no what will I wear.

lordloveadog · 21/06/2023 15:34

Also, hope everyone has a better day tomorrow. Difficult here with bad back and sick pet - very little work happening so at least that has little opportunity to give me grief.

dudsville · 21/06/2023 15:39

@Stoic123 , i ordered the M and the L. The sleeves are wide and its a loose comfy fit in the M. The L was too big all over but had a better, longer, sleeve length, which is the only thing i would have preferred. If you have any questions let me know.

Sorry you had a crappy day @Dee1224 , do keep an eye out for returns, i bought something that popped up and then was gone as soon as i ordered (and the order was fulfilled). They'll be getting a lot of returns now.

dudsville · 21/06/2023 15:42

Ooh, sorry you're having a tough one too @Saurus72 , hope the weeks picks up for you.

dudsville · 21/06/2023 15:46

I just washed the firth tie neck. Damn I've been caught out again with a tencil mix. That fabric feels awful when wet. Has anyone ever been caught in a downpour in tencil?

Nanasueathome · 21/06/2023 15:49

I’ve been quiet all week
Just wanted to say that I haven’t ordered anything in this sale
feel proud of myself
but then again it may be that between Christmas, my birthday and Mother’s Day I had over £1000 in toast vouchers and I spent the lot
there’s a few things I like in the new stuff so I’m going to wait

Stoic123 · 21/06/2023 15:54

Thanks @dudsville - going to try the medium

Dee1224 · 21/06/2023 16:05

Thanks @dudsville . Also for heads up re: Firth Dress - it’s in my basket, but may now come out!

Stoic123 · 21/06/2023 16:06

Hope everyone's rough days get smoother (without wrecking bank balance too much).

ScottishMouse · 21/06/2023 16:06

Final sale parcel arrived here today. The smocked gingham shirt that I saw on a sales assistant was a total fail on me. She looked amazing in it, I looked like a clown.
The patch pocket brown stripe tee was also a fail. I ordered two sizes but neither looked great. Not sure if it was the cut or the colour or both, but it looked pretty terrible on me.
The lotus gown is great. I wasn’t sure that I would keep it because it is still pretty pricey, but I wear the gown I bought in last year’s sale every day, so this would be a good multiple in case that wears out. The only thing is the placement of the print. One side at the front has virtually no print on it while the other side is quite busy with print, so it looks a bit odd. I might reorder to see if I get a better one (I’m not having much luck with pattern placement on Toast clothes recently!).

ScottishMouse · 21/06/2023 16:06

Went to store to return (as my one return I posted back hasn’t been refunded yet and they have had it for a week now!). Tried on a few new things I had my eye on. The pale blue denim jacket I was hoping would be like the shirt/jackets they did last year in pecan/blue/slate/something else. It is a variation on that, the sleeves are similar, but otherwise it is not at all as good, at least for me. Much longer and quite a-line. It looked awful on me. For anyone interested, sizing was massive. I tried an 8 which was plenty big, and I am a 12.
The green workwear dress was lovely, but just didn’t really suit me. I find collars tricky as I have a short neck. It would look great open as a jacket/light coat too. Size-wise, that was more like new sizing. I tried a M and that was right for me.
I did come away with a purchase - the new Kate Sheridan bag. My birthday is coming soon, so that’s my gift to me (oh, and the lotus gown 😆). It can be worn cross body or around the waist like a belt bag and it neat and cute. I’m having so little luck with clothes these days, that I think I might just start making my outfits about the accessories.

dudsville · 21/06/2023 16:07

Unless they add anything to the sale I'm now done. 6 pairs of falke socks, the firewood cord jacket, and the check cashmere trouses were all things I was hoping for. Then I said I absolutely did not need any knitwear, so I bought the neat cardi (rosewood) and yak wool sweater. I also said I absolutely did not need any more dresses, so I only bought 4 of those. (ffs does not give me the face palm emoji nor can I find it in amongst those available, so I'm just going to ask you to imagine it).

ScottishMouse · 21/06/2023 16:08

I don’t usually work on a weds, but annoyingly had to do some work today that was very frustrating. So I sympathise with everyone’s rubbish days. We’re over the hump now though, not long to the weekend!

Saurus72 · 21/06/2023 16:25

Thanks for all the commiserations, I just need to remember how much worse it would be if I were working in the office every day. Wfh at lest lets me tune out every now and again.

@dudsville am quite jealous of your 4 dress haul, I’ll look carefully at returns and co aider my options.

@lordloveadog you just summed up exactly how I feel about my wardrobe - with the exception of Xmas work parties (my OH is in a corporate job so people get v dressed up in some quite scary Christmas frocks 😵‍💫) I have pretty much everything I need for any occasion which is such a brilliant feeling. Plus it must save money with no last minute emergency shopping. I think my 25 year old self would be astounded at how calming that thought is.

Saurus72 · 21/06/2023 16:26

Consider not co aider 🙄
