@Stoic123 I think I have that one - is it charcoal/ecru? I know what you mean about comfort wear, it’s like a hug in a dress.

@Noeggsontoast Wr sound like dress twins - makes getting ready soooo easy!

Stoic123 · 09/06/2023 12:39

@Saurus72 - yes it is. Hug in a dress is the right analogy.

Noeggsontoast · 09/06/2023 12:53

@Saurus72 exactly, so practical, throw on and go!

I've always dressed on the smart/dressy side too. T-shirts are something I can wear under an item but not on their own with a skirt or trousers. I don't have many because of my erring to smarter.

I lived in Aus until 4 years ago and was wearing 90% dresses then because it's so hot. Even a linen trouser or a short was too much at times. Plus you need to cover up due to sun damage risk, so it was dresses all the way.

dudsville · 09/06/2023 19:16

I love the patterns and dress styles of the crepe viscosey dresses but i don't like the feel of the fabric. The new offerings are gorgeous though and I hope to see one worn in real life as they're gorgeous.

oddandelsewhere · 10/06/2023 07:57

Hello again! I went to Llandeilo yesterday to return a dress and hoping to buy something lovely and new, however there was literally nothing that I liked. Am I the only person who thinks the new washed out colours are really difficult to wear? The pebble linen dress is the style that I love, but the combination of the faded colour and very thin fabric left me cold. For the first time ever I have nothing on my wish list. (Pulls Franca dress from wardrobe yet again!)

dudsville · 10/06/2023 09:24

Hi @oddandelsewhere , I like the look of the pale items, but agree they also aren't for me. They look very chic though.

Has anyone saved the cotton poplin easy trousers in their wishlist basket? I'm just curious - when I clieck on the item it shows availability in all sizes, but on my wishlist it says it's sold out. Do any of you have this anomaly?

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 10/06/2023 09:57

I love that pebble linen dress, but I suspect with my colouring I could look a bit washed out.

Found this dress lurking unworn in my wardrobe today. Bought on Vinted last year.

Noeggsontoast · 10/06/2023 10:06

I've also noticed a few acid colours too in tops and a skirt visible in a photo but not on the site yet. They're not for me. I though this most recent drop a very unusual mix of colours.

I noticed they haven't done a belted printed button through shirt dress this year. I have 3 of these, the vine print, the aster and last years with the lemons. In fact I'm wearing the Aster today, with yellow moheda heeled sandals, which match the yellow flowers perfectly. I've stood the collar at the back and tried a new belting technique which a lady showed me in a shop a couple of weeks ago which suits wider belts. It makes it sit really neatly without getting crumpled syndrome.

On the instagram for Toast Cheltenham there is a video of the pebble dress- looks great

dudsville · 10/06/2023 10:44

That's very pretty @Theteapotsbrokenspout , I don't recognise it, is it toast? What a great dress.

Today I'm in the stack check trousers and the pink tee from last year, I think it was, the one a lot of folks on here returned. It's super light and thin and works well with my skin tone. Sadly I'm about to go on a walk so I'm slathered in spf, and will sweat, so this delightful easy outfit will be put straight in to the wash once I'm back, and then I think it will be time for one of the house/night dresses I love so much, perfect for sitting still. I love this weather when we can have the windows open all day.

MaroonedOnADesertIsland · 10/06/2023 10:44

What a great find from the back of the wardrobe @Theteapotsbrokenspout !
I wouldn't wear the lighter colours as I would end up staining them but I'm pleased they are doing some cooler colours as I dont suit the warmer colours, the oranges etc..
I missed the toast outfit chat but I have worn a few toast bits the past few days so though I would join in, albeit late! I wore a denim pinafore with buttons down the front and an a line shape, with novesta plimsolls and a shirt with a big collar - it looked a bit Elizabethan overall! And with the blue blazer a few of us have, which I've been wearing a lot. I've also worn the square neck dress from last year and my fracap fisherman sandals, both of which I bought near the end of summer so didn't get the chance to enjoy wearing them.
I was being sensible waiting for the toast sale to buy anything but I've now succumbed to some birkenstock Boston and a dress from aligne (the gabriella) so need to reign it in and wait patiently (fingers crossed for this week)

Noeggsontoast · 10/06/2023 11:12

@Theteapotsbrokenspout love that dress! Its fabulous

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 10/06/2023 11:17

@dudsville Yes, it’s toast, but I’ve no idea from when. 100% cotton, just right for today’s weather.

I knew when you said that dress looks great that the model would be blonde! I think the colour would only suit someone blonde or with grey hair, so not for me. I live in hope that Autumn will bring some stronger colours. The sales assistant at Llandeilo said that the theme for Autumn is 'Playful' I hope that doesn't mean ruffles!

ToastCosILoveIt · 10/06/2023 11:32

Today I'm wearing this dress from last year. Can't remember what it's called but it's sleeveless and loose and swishes when you walk: so comfortable. This is a picture of me in the garden, sitting down, legs resting on a high chair. It's too hot for anything else.

@ToastCosILoveIt i think it’s the elm dress. I can tell it looks gorgeous on you. I tried it on but it washed me out. I loved the shape, style, tie at nape…

Dee1224 · 10/06/2023 15:10

I love your dress @ToastCosILoveIt - I tried the elm in a 10 last year and returned it as I thought it was too big, (no way am I a 10 irl!) I have regretted it ever since🙃

I have just checked my wishlist in advance of the hoped-for sale and realised that somehow I have 44 items on it! Is this some kind of record? I really must cull it by at least 75%🤣

neveradullmoment99 · 10/06/2023 15:27

I've the palm print trousers on today. First outing! I'm.warm in them! I do love them though.

Dee1224 · 10/06/2023 15:42

I have been floating around the house and garden recently in items from my Toast nightie collection - my favourite is the red floral which I wear with the matching pj bottoms. I must get the cream/turquoise nightie/pj combo I bought in the last sale into service too! (I have a terrible habit of keeping things I really like as ‘too good to wearI’, which is totally ridiculous!)

lordloveadog · 10/06/2023 16:22

Been wearing a brownish gingham linen dress from a recent sale a lot lately. With a necklace it looks respectable for meeting students but is very loose and cool.

Today a pootling day fixing stuff in a green collared tshirt from a sale last year or one before with some seasalt linen shorts.

dudsville · 10/06/2023 17:01

Which ones are those @neveradullmoment99 ent99 , the black and white ones?

After my long hot walk and shower I've donned the plum check house dress. I've been sitting on the shady, breezy patio pretending to read.

I like your idea of mixing the nightdresses with the coordinating pj bottoms @Dee1224, And 44 items is a lot but they won't all be there so may as well wait and see!

I was looking for jackets @ScottishMouse and o noticed that the toast pic for your ikat jacket has the pattern of the pocket very thoughtfully placed. What did you decide?

Toasties counting down to Sale Day.
ScottishMouse · 10/06/2023 17:35

I returned it @dudsville. I just couldn’t unsee the pocket placement. Plus I also think the pattern was a little large for me.
Speaking of jackets, I really like the pale blue one in the new drop.
