@Laska2Meryls i like making ‘jumpsuits’ out of 2 separates! Lovely dress!

im amazing that none of the linen shorts have gone into sale. I don’t think they are selling too well by the looks of things. I guess they will appear in the late summer one.

Stravaig · 20/06/2023 17:58

It's lovely to see glimpses of so many past treasures today!

@Noeggsontoast I think I'm in that off-kilter zone now, complicated by loooong illness, so unsure if I'll lose the extra kilos and regain muscle tone, or if this is a permanent age-related change. It's really encouraging to hear how you figured your way back to comfort and confidence again, thank you.

Stoic123 · 20/06/2023 18:04

@ToastCosILoveIt - fab outfit. Loving the co-ord nails.

@Laska2Meryls - that kaftan is on my eBay stalking list. What is sizing like please?

Gorgeous dress Toast. What are you going to see?

has anyone got the drift check dress? I think I prefer the pinafore version but it hasn’t gone in the sale.

I'm going to see Groundhog Day at The Old Vic. I'll see if I can spot any Toast dresses there.

Popplebop · 20/06/2023 18:57

@ilovecherries i also have no hair but far more recent for me (since Christmas ). At the weekend a small child asked why I was wearing a swimming hat - I wasn’t it was just a cotton cap but I could see what they meant! I absolutely love my Toast clothes and feel very ‘me’ in them and have worn Toast for many years but weirdly I feel a bit different seeing myself in the mirror with no hair versus how I looked last year. It’s all quite challenging!
Today I had on my organic cotton pique shirt in the green (Herb) and I absolutely love it. With Jeans that are old Zara 😂. I would be very very tempted to buy in a couple of other colours if only my size wasn’t sold out.
I think there was a query about sizing down in the POW suit? I have decided to keep my jacket in usual size of 6 despite dithering as it fits as it is supposed to I think.

@OftenOrange I wish I was near to a store so I could check the pebble colour out. OH has just taken the drawstring collar dress back to the post office for me, despite the fact I really liked it and he liked it too. But I can't really justify both dresses (unless of course the drawstring is reduced further 😀).

@Theteapotsbrokenspout
I tried the pebble dress on and it looked awful on me! I’m quite relieved for budgetary reasons. It didn’t suit me on any level . I looked very matronly in the size medium, but the small would have been too tight across my bust. It looked shapeless and the colour washed me out and I couldn’t wait to take it off. I can appreciate it is beautifully cut as it looked so good on another customer and the fabric feels weighty and good quality, but it’s not meant for me. I did buy the panelled soft denim drawstring trousers. They are so comfy and quite stylish. Apologies if I’m behind with my reply, I haven’t yet had a chance to catch up with all the posts.

It’s tough. I can’t really remember having my own hair though I still remember very vividly standing in my student bedroom looking at my waist length hair on the pillow and trying to work out how the prank had worked. It didn’t occur to me immediately that it was real - or indeed permanent. I have had some regrowth now and then, but then I look like a piebald pony or a mangey dog. I just run a razor over every morning now. Do I look better with a wig - possibly/probably - but honestly, some days I cba. And as I get older I suspect an immaculate full head of hair looks less and less realistic. I do think that as women lose their hair for so many reasons that it’s good to be open about it.

Big@Stoic123 mine is a M and I am definitely a 16 on top in high st sizes 36 e and broad of shoulder . M is 24" pit to pit and the same at hip . Has Pockets and side splits !!😃

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 20/06/2023 20:09

That’s disappointing @Noodle421 (or maybe not for your bank balance) but interesting to get another opinion. I’m going to order when my returns register as I have had to order another pair of the hiker boots because the insole on one of the pair I was sent is not stuck down properly.
Glad that you managed to find something nice to buy, lots of people have said good things about those trousers.

Stoic123 · 20/06/2023 20:26

@Laska2Meryls - thanks!

AFingerofFudge · 20/06/2023 20:40

Just as an aside- I'm amazed there are 217 people in the Toast selling group on Facebook!! Where have they all come from, I thought we were an elite group 😅

It might look fantastic on you. It’s definitely worth trying. I am pleased actually because I really do not need another dress. I still haven’t worn my lovely new cobalt blue linen dress yet even though the sun’s been shining, whereas I do need some summer trousers, so it all worked out for the best.

Yes, they aren’t quite flooding in but it’s gaining momentum! If they have a completely locked down profile I have been asking how they heard about it just to try and check people are legit. It’s pretty evenly split between ‘read about it on MN/friend told me/FB suggested it to me.’

Wow there's so much to catch up on! And this must be a record for the greatest toast thread ever!

My returns were all processed yesterday. I'll take some more back today. Mine are all RM.

LOVE the dresses@Laska2Meryls and@ToastCosILoveIt , and that whole outfit! And I'm envious of your dress @ilovecherries , i love checks and plaids but I don't do v necks.

@Stoic123 , you make me want to do a photo shoot of my wardrobe! I'll do it later.

dudsville · 21/06/2023 08:51

Argh a typo, this may be the greatest thread, but i meant to say the FASTEST.

AFingerofFudge · 21/06/2023 08:56

Lol @dudsville you sounded very enthusiastic there!!

dudsville · 21/06/2023 09:09

🤣🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 I'm very upbeat, a cheerleader to all!

Stoic123 · 21/06/2023 09:12

And a very good morning to you @dudsville!

Look forward to your wardrobe shot.

Morning Toasties! I'm doing what I said I wouldn't; I'm back browsing the sale.

Has anyone any experience of the A-line Cotton Linen Skirt? I rather like it in shell, but am curious how A-line it is, and how stiff the fabric is.

ilovecherries · 21/06/2023 12:10

Oh dear. We’ve popped home to mow the grass and send my Toast purchases back. Except I like them all. That wasn’t the plan and I didn’t go bonkers in the first place, but even so…. I will have lunch and supervise the lawn mowing, and then decide

I’ve sent the Kate Spade bag back. It was lovely but tbh I rarely use bags these days, and I have a couple of these nylon bum bags from Uniqlo and a couple of Hush leather bum bags that work better for my lifestyle. So that was £150 saved. Plus I was almost relieved to discover a pair of linen trousers had a stain on them, so that was another £70. So I’m down to two pairs of trousers (the easy poplin in two colours) and the stacked check jumpsuit, which is more than I planned to keep but doesn’t feel TOO excessive!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 21/06/2023 13:42

That’s bad sending out trousers with a stain, can’t believe nobody noticed.

My replacement hiker boots arrived today so I’ve sent the faulty ones back. I haven’t received any refunds for my other returns yet, hopefully it will be quite quick.

dudsville · 21/06/2023 13:46

I've had more sale arrive today. I would like to say this is it now, but I clearly have poor impulse control. Reflecting back on the sale, I think it's odd that the entirety of my first two orders all went back, one item I wanted just needed a bigger size, which I got today and is a keeper, but the rest of those first two orders were things I had been really wanting to try. It's as if I don't know what to choose from them at all.

Anyway, I'm keeping the boatneck striped tee in XL - I'm a high street 12 up top but I don't like fitted tees and this doesn't look oversized on me.

The tie neck firth dress in a size 10 - I'm a hs 14 on my bottom and this isn't even near skiming. I love the matieral and the pattern of the shape dress very much. I will alter the tie kneck at some point as I don't like this, but that will be an easy fix. I'm going towear it first to see how the rest of the collar lays.

On a whim I ordered the yak wool jumper - it's proper hygge and I'm looking forward to winter now. It's cozy and light at the same time.

4 pairs of falke cosy and boot socks - I'd ordered these first thing but I got the size wrong so I'm glad they were still there when I realised my mistake.

I tried the POW outfit. The jacket in a 10 was a comfy fit and suited me fine, but I don't need it as a stand alone jacket in my wardrobe and the outfit as a whole didn't suit me. It was an itch that has been scratched

I've had a further thought about the Martha ticking strip dress. I won't do this, or at least not any time soon, but shortening it to below the knee would be easy and would definitely keep the aesthetic of the dress whilst shaking off some of the puritanical vibe. I may consider this if I find poeple bowing to me or saying "blessed be the fruit".
