I also thought handmaid @AFingerofFudge ! I literally asked the mirror if i looked like a Martha.

I love that you can shop together @Saurus72 , mine shops almost exclusively at mountain warehouse. Loving the"bear, not in a good way" comment!

FufferPish · 19/06/2023 15:09

@MiracleToast I've decided to return the Elena Cotton Linen Tunic Shirt, as I decided life is too short to spend it in sludge green😀. I will set up an ebay alert for it in white, as I am confident I can dye the white one in a nice colour (e.g., maroon or aubergine or forest green), provided I take the buttons off first... But think they are just too expensive at £125. I tend to buy them off ebay for £30 or so generally and most of my toast stuff is second hand.

Stoic123 · 19/06/2023 15:15

@AFingerofFudge - ha. Yes, a bit Handmaid's Tale. I will now think of it as the 'Martha Dress'.

I have a poplin dress in Prussian Blue that is similarly austere and I always think of it as the 'Jane Dress' (from Jane Eyre).

Plumpciousness · 19/06/2023 15:30

If so many people are sizing down to small and medium, who is wearing large and extra large?!

Stoic123 · 19/06/2023 15:36

@Plumpciousness. it's the joy of the Toast sizing lottery. Enhanced by this year's erratic resizing exercise.

My order included items in an S, an M, an L, an XL. All fitted me 😀

lordloveadog · 19/06/2023 15:50

@Plumpciousness me! I wear xl and sometimes l. I'm not even that fat, but a tall big woman, size 41.5 feet, rugby/swimming shoulders, 34G bust. And a bit fat, but nothing at all remarkable. Am fascinated by all you Lilliputians finding xs swamping you.

Speaking of which, in case anyone wants to try the Shoal Block Print Kaftan Dress, the L/XL is generous on me so that's definitely one to size down in.

It's the only item that I'm dithering about from recent purchases. Everything else a clear yes or no. The shoal dress is just an madly overpriced beach coverup - it's too thin for anything else. But I'm reluctant to send back because it is a very unusually nice beach coverup.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 19/06/2023 16:06

@lordloveadog I think that the shoal kaftan is lovely colours and I was really tempted by it but I know I have no use for a beach cover up (the only time I'm on the beach is walking the dogs and it's usually when its wet and cold).
I did consider it to wear in the evening indoors but I think it would be more sensible to spend my toast budget on other things. Hopefully it will appear in a future sale.

Saurus72 · 19/06/2023 16:09

@lordloveadog Could you wear a slip underneath it so it’s a bit more substantial?

@dudsville He really likes shopping, though unlike me who is always on the lookout he does it a couple of times a year and spends a substantial amount! He’s heard me talking about Toast positives (when it’s right it’s perfect, plus great quality) as well as negatives (weird sizing) so he knew it would be hit and miss and it was!

lordloveadog · 19/06/2023 16:14

@Saurus72 I don't think so; it's very beachy. But that's ok, I do beach sometimes and my teenagers still like to sandcastle so it's good to have a garment that is loose enough for playing.

applecatchers36 · 19/06/2023 17:17

My parcels arrived and the citrus cardy is going back I thought it would be a zingy green but was more flecked sludgy brown and yellow so not was I was hoping at all.
The walnut shorts are going back because they are very long and a lot of material, one review said almost culottes so not quite right.
Am keeping the windflower PJs as such a cute print so overall can feel virtuous 😇 although will keep checking in case the yellow check sundress comes back in 😅

Stoic123 · 19/06/2023 17:22

@Laska2Meryls - complete fail on the Danish clothes investigation front.

I did pick up some Henrik Vibskov socks as thought they'd sit nicely alongside my Toast ones. Colours more suitable for Sweden maybe....

Great socks @Stoic123 !

Those of you who have the POW jacket, did you size down or not and if so what shape are you please?

Noeggsontoast · 19/06/2023 17:38

@dudsville I don't have it but have tried it on earlier this year. I had to size down from my usual Toast size and had plenty of room and I have a bust. I debated sizing down again. No smaller size available in store so I left it.

dudsville · 19/06/2023 17:43

Thank you@Noeggsontoast , that's helpful.

Me too, quite often. 5’7, size 8 feet, 32G, normal BMI. It’s rare for me to be ‘swamped’ 😂

Hi, I sized down from a 12 to a 10 and there is still plenty of room. I am a busty high street 12 although it’s a narrow back. Having said that, I think the 10 could accommodate a wider back: as I said, plenty of room. Re the trousers, I felt the 10 were snug so ordered a 12 but they are way too baggy in the leg so I am keeping the 10s. They sit high on the waist and it was perhaps me getting used to that which made them feel snugger than they are.

ToastCosILoveIt · 19/06/2023 20:11

Above should read that I have a narrow back, not that the jacket has a narrow back (my bra band is 32).

dudsville · 19/06/2023 20:58

Thanks @ToastCosILoveIt , much appreciated! I might try it.

AFingerofFudge · 19/06/2023 21:27

Well the Ticking Stripe dress hasn't gone down well in the Fudge household. DS2 & DS3 both laughed and DH diplomatically said it was ok.
Excuse the appalling picture, arm at weird angle to show sleeve, dirty mirror and general mess, this is the best picture I could get. Honest answers only please Grin

I think the colour looks nice on you @AFingerofFudge . The sleeves are very wide. Is it comfy material? I was thinking about ordering it myself.

I really like it on you. Ive no idea why they laughed at you. Its a nice dress.

Blossomtoes · 19/06/2023 22:11

I like it @AFingerofFudge. It’s a lovely dress.

Stoic123 · 19/06/2023 22:12

@AFingerofFudge - I'm a fan of the dress so biased. It is a bit Handmaids Tale as we said - but a gorgeous colour.

I'm planning to wear it for lazy days at home or in the park rather than out for lunch.

What size did you get?

AFingerofFudge · 19/06/2023 22:14

@neveradullmoment99 they have no appreciation of Toast, my long denim
dress has been likened to "prison clothes"!!!! Honestly, considering they've been brought up by me, they have no style!! 😂

Stoic123 · 19/06/2023 22:16

PS @AFingerofFudge - I meant to write that I like it on you.
