@Saurus72 ah, yes, okay this helpful as I’ll try to think of ‘long game’ when it comes to this summer sale…

dudsville · 18/06/2023 13:22

@DarlingCoffee I'm a 12/14 (hs) and new mediums don't fit me, I'm even trying sizing up to an xl for the red striped tee. That's a shame about your order.

I hope that lofty alpaca works for you@Saurus72 ,i love that look but it didn't work for me. If course how l now that you're talking about it I'm tempted to try again, because fomo.

I also fail to believe they sold ALL the dibbers…

Oh golly gosh. What exactly is a dibber ? I’m dying to know. From a previous comment, I gather Geoffrey makes them..

Noodle421 · 18/06/2023 13:54

Is there a hobby invented by Toast called dibbing?

Stravaig · 18/06/2023 13:56

Dibbers? I have a range of sizes attached to each of my hands.
The Toast version, sillily expensive artisanal make-a-hole-for-planting device.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 18/06/2023 14:01

I love a good dibber, I make mine out of broken fork and spade handles. Obviously I should enter into a collaboration with Toast.

Noodle421 · 18/06/2023 14:01

@Stravaig
Ahh, thank you for explaining. Never too old to learn new things ! They sound quite useful

Noodle421 · 18/06/2023 14:02

Oh gosh - am I the only one on this thread who was ignorant about dibbers. Not anymore, I’m fully enlightened.

Noodle421 · 18/06/2023 14:14

Side stepping from the sale for a moment. I saw someone trying on the boat neck garment dyed linen dress in pebble in the shop and it looked very very good. I’d dismissed it instantly as being too wishy washy a colour for me but it has made me think again. The person trying it on had mid to light brown hair and pale skin and it really suited her. The dress flowed beautifully with little excess fabric despite multiple pleats around the waistband. It’s a subtle, delicate and unusual colour almost like a pale jade. Her only accessory was a delicate gold necklace and in my opinion that was all that was needed to complete the outfit. Will try it on when I’m next in the shop.

Dee1224 · 18/06/2023 14:16

Sadly I no longer seem to have a picture of Geoffrey Fisher’s Dibber, (I put one on a previous thread) - it was basically a small twig - reduced in previous Toast sales to a bargain £15. I really must stop mocking the poor thing🤣

faustina · 18/06/2023 14:55

I totally missed the dibbers in the sale - there must have been a real rush on them. Thank goodness I can forage my own sticks in my garden!

Saurus72 · 18/06/2023 15:00

@dudsville I really hope it works too, though reading the reviews the sizing seems completely mad. The medium was humongous but the reviews mentioned there are big leaps between sizes so I think the small might be too small, will report back!

@faustina Yes hopefully there will be returns but if lots of people (like me…just too convenient not too) have used InPost it can take a really long time for parcels to be picked up so fingers crossed.

Stoic123 · 18/06/2023 15:13

Heading back to the UK from Copenhagen today and need to collect 6 parcels from my long suffering neighbour (asked RM to hold them at the delivery office which they duly ignored).

No chance to suss out clothes shops here but my Ikat Toast dress was greatly admired by the lady working at the Design Museum.

Re: additional items/further reductions, I looked back at last year and I made one order on the first day of the sale then further the last day of June and the first week of July. So i reckon it will be a while before any more price drops/further items added. I returned the two jumpers via InPost yesterday and ordered a small in the lofty jacquard sweater - I really hope I can get it to work because I have loads of Toast dresses I could wear it over in winter. That and OH’s orders arriving tomorrow, v intrigued by the men’s stuff - it has good reviews but who knows 🤷‍♀️

They usually add extra a week later. So maybe Thursday, when the sale went live for all.

That’s praise indeed !

MiracleToast · 18/06/2023 17:05

@Noodle421 this dress almost has me breaking my no non-sale items rule. I am so pleased to hear it is a pale jade—I see it as green but was worried that with its name pebble it could be actually beige and I couldn’t see it properly. So, thrilled it’s jade and really really hope Toast put it in the sale! If you do try on please let me know sizing.

Popplebop · 18/06/2023 17:48

I have been away for the weekend and of course my sale parcels arrived - fortunately the teenagers were waiting for them 😆. Sadly (for my bank balance) they are all keepers... Prince of Wales jacket and trousers are perfect. I am a short arse so the length on the trousers is normal and I love the wide legs feel with neat waist to them.
Jacket I ummed about initially as I maybe thought I needed to size down (from 6 to 4 - I am not a 4 😳) but actually after trying on again it fits well in the way it is supposed to.
Quilted needlecord coat in pebble is just as lovely as expected and teenager was saying she would have it if I didn't want it so that was a win. And the green organic pique top is also something I will wear lots. I cannot cannot look at any more Toast sale pages as now spent out!

ToastCosILoveIt · 18/06/2023 19:00

dudsville · 18/06/2023 09:57

I was just scrolling back through the sale. Did anyone get the prince of Wales jacket and trousers? I remembered we spoke about the set on here and got curious!

HI @dudsville , I got the Prince jacket and trousers and sized down to a 10 having tired them on in Islington but I am now wondering if I had tried the 12 trousers in store as the 10 fits but is very snug and has the potential to be a pair of trousers that you end up not wearing as they are just a little too snug. I am hanging on to the 10s and have ordered the 12s for a comparison. I absolutely love the suit and it will serve me week in late summer and into autumn and winter: it is a beautiful cut and fabric and I had been sorely tempted to pay full price for it but glad I held out.

I think as previous discussions on these threads have said, some of the more tailored trousers are cut for pears and not apples: I am definitely an apple so fuller waist and narrower hips.

I see @Popplebop has the suit too and is very pleased with it.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 18/06/2023 20:32

@Noodle421 @MiracleToast I was really tempted by the pebble boatneck dress from the moment I saw it but discounted it as being too pale for me. But seeing the Instagram post someone linked to earlier, and hearing your description I think it may work after all.
I can’t see it being in a sale anytime soon so I’m thinking maybe I should get this and send back my sale purchase of the drawstring collar dress, decisions decisions 🤔.

Stravaig · 18/06/2023 20:39

Rookie mistake preparing eBay listings, I quickly tried something on while photographing/measuring. What was I thinking! Back in the wardrobe it goes. Why I am telling you? It was Toast. Maybe next time ...

MiracleToast · 18/06/2023 20:49

@Theteapotsbrokenspout yes, it’s my favourite thing that’s appeared. They did put some newish things in the sale so I’m holding out that they’ll do 🤞🏽

mizu · 19/06/2023 08:14

@Stravaig Grin I am guilty of this too.

Just got an email celebrating 10 years of the Lydia dress and now I want one!😂
Luckily have some toast budget left as I sent back 2 jumpsuits.
Not sure about the fit?
Can anyone advise?

This lead me down memory lane - I had a look at my emails to see when I had bought Lydia dresses: I got 4 different ones in 2016. Two different stripy ones, a black and a blue.
Back then I had more blob than I do today, so the 3 of them were too small even in size 18, but for some reason I kept them. Now I am happy about that.
The year later I got the Lydia dress in blue with short sleeves and buttons on the back. It was much roomier than the other ones, and I have used it a lot.

dudsville · 19/06/2023 08:43

That's funny@Stravaig , I don't sell my stuff but i sometimes get the idea that i don't wear something because of the fit, try it on, see that it's perfect and don't have a clue what i was thinking.

That's tempting feedback re the prince of wales suit. Tempting indeed.... and no, i do not need it....

FufferPish · 19/06/2023 08:57

The result of dyeing my garment dyed parchment jumpsuit. Overall, great colour, washing machine not affected and have not had any issues with residue of dye. Only thing is that the lovely white buttons got dyed too! I was expecting them to be synthetic and thus not susceptible. However, I am currently bleaching one of the spare buttons and that seems to be working so will reattach that. Overall a successful experiment. The colour is a bit darker than in the picture, and I used Dylon smoke grey.
