Yup, @Alpacasoft i also now want one! 🙈

Oh dear!
It sort of passed me by but now I think it would be very useful.
I would LOVE it on linen, light denim, chambray ...

MiracleToast · 18/06/2023 09:44

Ooh yes @Alpacasoft i would love it in linen too

dudsville · 18/06/2023 09:57

I was just scrolling back through the sale. Did anyone get the prince of Wales jacket and trousers? I remembered we spoke about the set on here and got curious!

MiracleToast · 18/06/2023 09:57

What are everyone’s predictions for a further drop in the sale?

Dee1224 · 18/06/2023 09:58

@MiracleToast Pond 🤣🤣🤣

MiracleToast · 18/06/2023 09:59

@Dee1224 😅

Dee1224 · 18/06/2023 10:02

Also @MiracleToast: Surely that hugely expensive duffel coat they couldn’t shift last time could make an appearance? If Toast can include Fairisle jumpers in the summer sale, why not a duffel?

(Although then I would have to give myself a stiff talking to along the lines of: ‘No, you don’t need it. Yes, you have many many coats already that are languishing unworn 🤣)

Dee1224 · 18/06/2023 10:03

I also fail to believe they sold ALL the dibbers…

Snowyowl78 · 18/06/2023 10:09

@Dee1224 is that the gold and black check one? I bought it and had to call them many times to source the right size so I think it might be gone now!

@Countmeout thanks for the advice, maybe I will take the plunge! Is surely a whole lot easier than the ones I’ve done in a bucket. I’m scared of dying some of my expensive toast T-shirts by mistake! I’ll report back!

Snowyowl78 · 18/06/2023 10:09

@Alpacasoft lydia sizing, I tried one a couple of weeks ago and it was very small. Tried the medium and it was too small, v unusual for me in toast. So I would go bigger given the option

Dee1224 · 18/06/2023 10:17

@Snowyowl78 - it was the mid-brown tweed one with hood and toggles, hand made in London - very nice, but still too much for me to pay for a coat even in the sale. I don’t want to see it again as too tempting!

MiracleToast · 18/06/2023 10:17

@Dee1224 stern talking to myself over here too—these sales are such an obsession. I LOVE it.

Yikes!
Is that the V neck one?
I'm a bog standard size 12

Countmeout · 18/06/2023 10:32

I checked my Lydia @Alpacasoft but the label appears to have been lost in the shortening. It was one of my very early Toast buys so it was the old sizing. I thought it came in 10/12 etc but must have been a medium I went for and agree it seemed smaller than subsequent buys of other things.

My parcel arrived and I had a quick try on.
The broad check dress is not quite the colour I thought ( nothing from Toast ever is) the blue is like a teal with a mustard yellow. A quick poll here of one thinks it’s not too like a tablecloth and I like the fit, although slightly neat on the bust as it’s linen I think there will be a give. (Has anyone shrunk it? ) it’s very light and airy and could have done with it in the heat last week . The skirt hangs just perfectly for me and the length is also perfect.
So disappointed in the cord workwear jacket. The colour wasn’t as pale as I thought and the sleeves seem disproportionately big to the size. Sizing like my other workwear jackets (Darcy) . It is also verrrry soft. Not for me.

I’d like to know too. I’m very interested in it - winter wedding coming up and it might be perfect for it.

Thanks so much for checking @Countmeout
I think I will order in small and medium.
It's a 5 minute stroll to the post office and I have several too large unworn items already.

Snowyowl78 · 18/06/2023 10:42

@Alpacasoft this one comes up small
https://www.toa.st/products/lydia-jersey-shift-dress-washed-indigo

the v neck (assume you mean the newish jersey black v neck?) isn’t a Lydia really also they are linking them, but that one is normal toast sizing.

Our Lydia Jersey Shift Dress is crafted from washed cotton jersey. It has a scoop back and back slit.

Aaah crossed wires!
It's the V neck one which if I remember correctly is the same as the old Lydia ?
Thank you for your help

Ignore me!
I'm thinking of something else!

Pigtailsandall · 18/06/2023 11:20

@AFingerofFudge thank you, that's very useful to know about stocking sale items!

@lordloveadog thanks, great, I think I will go for L. I like roomy but not comical. Hoping they will be perfect and last me a long time.

DarlingCoffee · 18/06/2023 11:49

Well all my sale shopping has gone back as the new Toast sizing has come back to bite me and I sized down when in fact I should have sized up! Argh! Have now consoled myself with a second Toast order of the artisanal sandals in Oxblood and the ochre linen tank top in Large. I’m a UK 14-16. New Toast Medium does not fit me :(

Saurus72 · 18/06/2023 12:06

Re: additional items/further reductions, I looked back at last year and I made one order on the first day of the sale then further the last day of June and the first week of July. So i reckon it will be a while before any more price drops/further items added. I returned the two jumpers via InPost yesterday and ordered a small in the lofty jacquard sweater - I really hope I can get it to work because I have loads of Toast dresses I could wear it over in winter. That and OH’s orders arriving tomorrow, v intrigued by the men’s stuff - it has good reviews but who knows 🤷‍♀️

faustina · 18/06/2023 12:40

@Snowyowl78 - about the dying in the washing machine: I did it once or twice - dyed a white linen boy tee navy (wonderful result, wear it often even though it's shrunk) and another toast linen tee - like an Emma but linen which was dark red but I dyed it black as well as refereshing my 565 other black tees (it didn't seem like such a success and I'm not sure I've worn it since)

I was also worried about how many subsequent washes would dye things and I think I ran about three empty wash cycles just in case, followed by a dark wash, and it was fine. It would be expensive nowadays though - this was pre-the huge rises in electricity costs!

faustina · 18/06/2023 12:43

We can all start to look forward to returns next week though? even if they don't add anything or do any further reductions yet
