The Oar jumpsuit looks lovely on ther model, and I agree the triangle at the back might emphasize parts of our body that we might not want to highlight (in my case: broad shoulders). If the Oar jumpsuit is similar to the one I bought, I think you have to be either flexible or short waisted. Whistles is really bad for poor fitting jumpsuits, they all give me a perma wedgie! Keep up the jumpsuit love though ;-)

The Cross check is longer in the body by at least 2-3 inches@FufferPish
The Oar check was, without giving TMI, very uncomfortable.
I think it would work for those who are around 5'6 or 5'7

Interestingly @OftenOrange I've checked the measurements on the website and the Oar is 45cm in the body and 88cm outside leg length.
The Cross check is 47.5cm and 90.5cm.
However it's a much better fit and Yes sort of culottes style.

I've screenshot the measurements for future use when ordering.

I have the olive check@Dee1224 , someone else here does also. I really like it. It's not cotton, which i was surprised by but you may already have noticed that. It's really thin and light, so perfect for summer whilst not at all looking flimsy. I have a few of this dress shape and I like them a lot. I only go one size down in this style so that it's still oversized but just a little less so.

I've also bought the blue brown check one you've linked to but haven't recieved it yet

Goodness, I don’t think I have posted for the last two threads but I used to be a stalwart. Just got classic sandwich generation stuff going on. Well, that sale was an anti-climax, no?! I did order a pair of barrel leg dungarees to replace my old faithful straight-leg version that are now probably well into a minus figure for cost per wear. I love the barrel legs and wore them today for a forest school party I had to take DD2 to. Toast does good dungarees, in my humble opinion. I am now contemplating the ecru version but wondering if they will spend more time in the wash than on my body? Does anyone have them? If so, how do you keep them clean?

I also got the colour-block poplin skirt as I spend my whole life in Toast dresses and I’d like to find a way to wear up all my olden-days JL 70% off knits and tops with a skirt. I do like it but it’s a bit galleon in full sail so the jury is out.

My teen, who is obsessed with Japan and Japanese culture, spent her hard-saved pocket money on the bento box set; it is adorable and now I want one too!

BettinaInDenmark · 17/06/2023 18:05

@Dee1224 I had the check twill shirt dress last year, and I absolutely love it. It runs rather big, and for me it is a bit too warm for summer use. But I have used it a lot in winter with the green aran cardi and olive Blundstones

OftenOrange · 17/06/2023 18:10

@Dee1224 I have the plum version and also think it’s most useful for colder months . In fact it’s the only Toast dress I’ve worn more than twice , and I have a few!

MiracleToast · 17/06/2023 18:18

@SmaugMum i don’t have the dungarees but do have the carpenter jeans in ecru which I suspect might be the same material. They wash really well, I wear them loads and wash loads and they’re going strong. In case that helps!

I have it. I absolutely love it. I've not worn it but much prefer the fabric to the cotton one. I have it in a plum shade.

Dee1224 · 17/06/2023 18:59

Thanks for your thoughts, @BettinaInDenmark, @Countmeout and @dudsville . I am going to sleep on it and May do another order in the morning.

Dee1224 · 17/06/2023 19:47

Hi, I should also have said, thanks @neveradullmoment99 and @OftenOrange. I am trying to restrain myself from ordering both dresses

BettinaInDenmark · 17/06/2023 21:40

I have fallen for the dip dye silk shirt Dip Dye Silk Shirt | Blue Multi | TOAST

Have any of you tried/bought it? How are the sizes?

I'm hoping it will be further reduced soon.

Pigtailsandall · 17/06/2023 22:31

Sorry to jump on a specialist thread, but I was wondering if experienced shoppers could guide me... I've found 2 jumpers I love on the Toast sale but their sizing is SO confusing. I've only ever bought trousers there before. I'm a size 16 at the top, and like my jumpers roomy but nit ridiculously big... what size might you recommend I go for in these 2?

Thank you... also, does anyone know if their stores usually stock sales stuff? I live quite close to the Shoreditch branch.

AFingerofFudge · 17/06/2023 23:11

@Pigtailsandall I cant answer your questions about the jumpers, but the sales are online only. The items would have been in the shops, but pre sale they get sent back to the warehouse ready for the sale.

faustina · 18/06/2023 06:43

@Pigtailsandall - have you read the reviews for each of the jumpers? They can be helpful for sizing

Snowyowl78 · 18/06/2023 08:39

@FufferPish i was worried about the machine retaining the dye and dying other stuff in further washes, maybe I’m being over cautious. I have a couple of black toast Jersey dresses that could do with a redye too!

Snowyowl78 · 18/06/2023 08:40

@Countmeout thanks! I watched the video again

Countmeout · 18/06/2023 08:49

@Snowyowl78 re the dye in the machine. I don’t tie much but have dyed my daughters black jeans , black obvs, and the Stella dress and with it another Zara dress . I just run the machine with nothing in it afterwards. I have one of those machines that have a very short programme and that was fine. Admittedly I was cautious what I put it it next, I think I did a dark wash of trousers and put a white cloth in to test with them so really it I suppose had 2 washes after the dying but it was fine.

lordloveadog · 18/06/2023 08:51

@Pigtailsandall toast sizing is always a gamble but my best guess is L. I'm an 18 with wide shoulders and generous bust and iirc the XL cashmere one was a good size on me, though it didn't suit me and went back. It wasn't oversized though, so if you want it loose you could try xl.

Countmeout · 18/06/2023 08:53

Good grief my flabber has just been gasted. I just got a notification that Royal Mail are delivering a parcel today.

lordloveadog · 18/06/2023 08:54

Going home to my parcels today! Very excited to try on. Hoping a few things are perfect and everything else looks rubbish for the sake of bank balance and decision-making processes.

Alpacasoft · 18/06/2023 09:03

Just got an email celebrating 10 years of the Lydia dress and now I want one!😂
Luckily have some toast budget left as I sent back 2 jumpsuits.
Not sure about the fit?
Can anyone advise?

Countmeout · 18/06/2023 09:09

I have it @Alpacasoft . I bought it in my usual high street size as I am busty . It was very long , I’m 5’4”, and it is the only Toast dress I have ever had taken up.

Thanks @Countmeout
I'm a RL 12 but can't decide between a small or a medium.
I don't want it baggy.

MiracleToast · 18/06/2023 09:21

Yup, @Alpacasoft i also now want one! 🙈

dudsville · 18/06/2023 09:26

I say this too @Countmeout "Good grief my flabber has just been gasted."!!!
