I'm so bloody annoyed that Chanel have discontinued Christalle.

I've worn it every day for 35 years. I don't like any other perfume. I'm bereft.

Oh that is a shame that's a beautiful perfume. I wonder why on earth they discontinued it!?

I believe it's not available in the states?
I will be devastated too if it's actually true , as it's my current signature perfume. I have 3 bottles of it 😳
It's so sad all my favourites are being discontinued & most modern perfumes are pale imitations of past riches.

Oh no ! They had changed it though, it is different from how it used to be.

According to Chanel and John Lewis, Cristalle is not discontinued. Chanel have had problems sourcing a specific 'ingredient' that's why it hasn't been available for some time.

Apparently, it will be in stock later this year.

This has panicked me! It's my favourite perfume and I'm nearly at the end of my current bottle. I'll try and eke it out until it's back in stock. I've loved it for over 35 years and would be really disappointed if it wasn't going to be available in the future.

It’s definitely not discontinued but really hard to find - I managed to get a bottle from Chanel in Germany and saw it in duty free at Split! It was my first perfume - I was given a bottle for my 16th birthday and would be devastated if it was discontinued.

I’ve just got a new bottle so will eke it out. I love it but not as much as Chanel 19 which I’ve worn my whole adult life.

Another that has changed, it is a shadow of its old self.

As above, it's not been discontinued. The formulation changed about 10-15 years ago due to EU regulations about ingredients. It's in stock online in various places.

It's in stock in all sizes on the Chanel website.
(People keep saying as well that Chanel 19 is being discontinued - apparently it's not)

😱 that must be the power of MN! I literally checked each one of the 3 (even the flanker) and they were all in stock when I posted! That's insane. Keep trying other sales outlets though, I got my last bottle I think from a dept store.

It's really rare for Chanel to discontinue a perfume. Especially an old classic. They might change production numbers, or how prominent they want it to be in the selling space they have in shops. (Dior are like this, I had to get a Miss Dior originale out of a cupboard under the counter last time I bought some- the assistant kept saying "we don't do that, but we do all these with the same names with ribbons" and I said "could you just have a rummage in your cupboard" 😂)

I'm not sure how helpful this is, but Yardley Jade was a very close 'dupe' for Crystalle. I bloody loved it but - discontinued. 🙄

That's true. I have stockpiled some of that, it's very close.
A couple of others not as close as Jade but closer than most are Annick Goutal Eau du Sud and Liz Earle n1.
All 4 are a big part of my summer perfume wardrobe and though I'll often want to pack all 4 I think to myself, they're so similar that's daft!

I would love to know why there seem to be stock problems with so many cosmetics and perfumes now. I bought some Chanel No 19 a while ago, having not worn it for years, after reading that it was being discontinued. Sadly I am not enough of a parfumeur to detect the differences mentioned by LoveLabradors and SirVixofVixHall. Eventually I got some on the Chanel website but I am now keeping an eye out for when it needs replacing.

Cristalle was in stock online at John Lewis when I checked just now but not Chanel No 19. The larger Boots used to carry a good perfume stock years ago but not any more, although they do sell online but that relies on customers knowing what they want. I do long for the days of being accosted with samples in department stores!

I'm still trying to get hold of a bottle of no5 parfum (not eau de parfum). There is none to be had anywhere in the world. Haven't been able to get any for months. None online, none in any shops, none in any Chanel shops and no one seems to know why.

I'm completely out now. 😥

I bought a massive bottle from duty free last year. It smells like the fake oakmoss that has ruined so many perfumes. I can't wear it. DD don't like it either.

The sad thing is you can actually put oakmoss into perfumes, just a limited amount. Some independent companies and Lush still use it. The artificial substitute has ruined so many perfumes when they've been reformulated.

Cristalle and no 19 are my all time favourite perfumes too, I would be gutted if they were discontinued. I stupidly sold a bottle of Yardley Jade on vinted for a fiver last year and have been regretting it ever since

I had checked on the Chanel.website before I posted and it said Out of Stock. Also had checked John Lewis and Boots.

I really hope you are right and they're bringing it back.

I love Cristalle but could never wear it in the summer as it turned me into a wasp magnet! Maybe the reformulation would help with that… (trying to find an upside, I hate the reformulations of older perfumes).

A wasp magnet ? Ooh not good for me (allergy). I didn’t notice that when I wore it, but perhaps hadn’t connected the two ! I avoid fig based perfumes in the Summer for this reason even though I love them.
