I'm so bloody annoyed that Chanel have discontinued Christalle.

They are bastards.

I just wanted to say it to people who might understand!

I've worn it every day for 35 years. I don't like any other perfume. I'm bereft.

Yes I just heard the same thing from someone who worked at Chanel. Redesigning the bottle to look more like Chanel No 5. The Chanel employees all received an email about it. She also said that they would never discontinue Cristalle as apparently Coco Chanel was wearing it when she passed away!

Apparently, Cristalle is being rebranded so that the bottle matches their other perfumes, not discontinued, and the formulation will remain the same. I was told this today by the Chanel rep in Selfridge's, Oxford Street and she showed me the work email saying that it will return in the 4th quarter of 2023. I guess Chanel don't make this information public to encourage rumours so that we panic buy the last of the old stock

Yes this is what I posted about yesterday. The Chanel rep at Gatwick told me the same thing. Though she didn’t know when it would be back on the market. Fingers crossed it’s by Christmas!

I just got back from Spain and Chanel counter in Madrid mentioned it will be back late this year. Holding my breath! I'm getting low....

I am almost at the end of my bottle of Cristalle and when I tried to source it at two different Duty Frees was told that Chanel grow their own flowers and the harvest was bad for the Cristalle indredients so they haven't been able to manufacture it of late.

AM desperate for another bottle and tried to make do with Cristalle Eau Verte but quite frankly it smells of cat's urine and nothing like sophisticated Cristalle.

Chanel Cristalle is NOT discontinued … just bought some in Hoopers in Harrogate. The Chanel lady said it has been infuriating hearing rumours that it had been discontinued … they have been redesigning the bottle apparently 🤗

Remember that the edp does not smell the same as the edt... It is a noticeably different scent - the edp has peach notes and is much sweeter. If you prefer the edt it is still not listed.

Interesting article on the New Cristalle perfume in Fragrantica.
Apparently there's now no OakMoss in the edp & as expected it's been reformulated, as well as rebottled. Also there's a totally new perfume available now - Cristalle Verte edp. Whereas only the EDT was available before.
Apparently Oakmoss is not popular amongst the youngsters, hence the re-jigging of the formula.

Oakmoss was removed from most perfumes many years ago because of it being a sensitiser, so that is not new at all.

No, It wasn't removed.
But either substituted in some perfumes by synthetics, or the amounts used were constrained within certain limits. Due to Iafra guidelines, which incidentally haven't changed in the last three years.
As Oak Moss is considered an allergen.

The amount of oakmoss allowed in a leave-on product is so small that it is barely detectable. Perfume houses have been using synthetics for years.

I think we're both saying the same thing essentially in different ways @Haffiana... . Tree Moss is often a substitute for oak moss these days
Some perfumes do still have Oakmoss. Namely Rogue Perfumery still have the real thing in their perfumes. Also in some American perfumers for example -Providence Perfumes.

So I discovered that Cristalle is back. Does anyone else think it smells slightly different? More like the EDT than the EDP? Less intense somehow?

Hi Cristalle is still available as an Eau De Parfum £136 100ml. Its on the Chanel website now in the ICON No5 Bottle. As far as I know there is no Eau De Toilette. ♥️

Yes, scroll up.and you will see we are discussing the fact that it's back on sale. It was unavailable for a long time but they were just re designing the bottle.
