I won't be offended, no ED or anything like that going on. I'm just wondering what size I look in this pic?

What size would you say I am from this photo?

I think it’s a combination of a) sitting down, b) wafty fabric, and c) bad posture which makes you look slumped and thicker at the waist which gives the impression you’re larger than you are in that photo. Standing up straight in something more fitted you’d likely look totally different.

I do need to remind myself to sit up straight! I'm a bugger for slouching!

I thought about 18 but it's clearly the dress. I know you love it but it definitely makes you look bigger than you are. There are numerous dress styles I veer away from for the same reason.

DeathBecomesHer · 01/06/2023 15:58

18

Wow op, I'm really surprised by your update. How does that leave you feeling about the dress? Fwiw, my mirror usually tells me i look absolutely fine and then someone takes a pic that tells a different story. If you love the dress then I hope this pic wouldn't stop you. Sometimes a friend of mine comments that what I'm wearing is "slimming", i get that most of what i wear isn't trying to be slimming but it can sometimes knock my confidence to wear the things that i know i love and enjoy.

I'll still wear it cause it's a lovely dress, I'll just keep the photos on my phone in a private album 😄

16

shelbabab · 01/06/2023 15:58

I did think a size 14-16 but it's hard to tell from that photo if there a lot of dress fabric rather than the person.

From the one standing up I'd say 12 but again there's so much fabric hiding ur figure it's hard to see it properly.

Wife2b · 01/06/2023 15:59

Wow that’s crazy, photos can be deceiving after all

Beamur · 01/06/2023 16:00

Looks totally different when you're standing up. I think it's just a bad picture in the first photo, unflattering pose/angle.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 01/06/2023 16:00

Difficult to say really. Going by your chest and assuming you're in proportion forced to make a guess I'd say size 14-16, but You could be a size 6 with a big chest.

mauveiscurious · 01/06/2023 16:01

Big print with a loose cut would always make you look better

Museya15 · 01/06/2023 16:02

10!

Lochjeda · 01/06/2023 16:02

12 or 14

dudsville · 01/06/2023 16:03

Good for you, and yes it's very interesting how different you look standing up in that dress! It looks great on you.

SunnyEgg · 01/06/2023 16:06

Tootsietwo · 01/06/2023 15:55

I've taken a full length one:

I would have said much smaller based on this photo

So take heart it was just a bad pic, easily done for anyone

Summerfun2023 · 01/06/2023 16:09

14/16

confusedAFnow · 01/06/2023 16:10

16/18.

Crikeyalmighty · 01/06/2023 16:10

Ha- stood up I would have said a 12- yep it's just an unfortunate photo! I said 18 coz that's how I look on all my photos ! (And I'm an 18) Lovely frock though

bonfirebash · 01/06/2023 16:10

It's the dress. See the gap in your full length one, between your elbow and the dress waistband? If you turned a bit more front on, open up that gap by posing, it would instantly slim you
But if you close that gap, the arm of the dress and waist all flow into one and it totally hides your figure

EmmaGrundyForPM · 01/06/2023 16:11

It's almost impossible to tell from that photo. I'm.going to say 16, but in truth you could be a 12 or a 20.

Jeed · 01/06/2023 16:12

18-20

EmmaGrundyForPM · 01/06/2023 16:12

Oh, I've just seen your 2nd photo. You look much smaller. Maybe a 10 or 12?

bonfirebash · 01/06/2023 16:13

Pic to show posed and then everything flat to body which is what the dress does

What size would you say I am from this photo?
123ZYX · 01/06/2023 16:13

It looks like the issue might be that the widest part of the sleeve is level with your bust, making the whole area wider. Once you can see your waist in the standing photo it gives a better idea of where your body ends and your sleeve begins

DuchessOfSausage · 01/06/2023 16:15

I'd have said a 10 or 12 from the photo and thought you were probably average height or shorter..
You have a nice figure, but boobs tend to add weight in photos (well that's my excuse anyway)
Nice dress.

Neilsfavouritechilli · 01/06/2023 16:16

@bonfirebash has it (excellent pictoral demonstration by the way)
