I really can't justify paying to get "my colours done", but am really interested! If I post something pics can anyone help give me some pointers??

It can be quite hard to tell off pics but Google some online quizzes and that might point you in the right direction

Blahblahblaaah · 01/06/2023 16:34

Ooh go on, I'll give it a go.

CLEO42 · 01/06/2023 16:35

I had mine done 15 years ago. It was worth every penny and I still carry my swatches around with me! Let's see your pic

Whatliesbeneath707 · 01/06/2023 16:43

If you go to the Kettlewell website, they do a quiz to identify your season. It's free.

I’m definitely not an expert but I’d say the white and brighter colours suit you the best.

IWonderWhereThatDishDidGo · 01/06/2023 20:47

I'm definitely NOT an expert, but I think you're warm toned. So maybe a light spring or autumn?

I'm a light spring 😌

I think you may be winter. There is great lady Affordable Online Personal Styling - StyleMeHappy that is very reasonable price - Emily Innes stylist on ig.

From a totally uninformed perspective I don’t think black is the best colour for you. I’m also not keen on the purple. I like the white and the green of the zip top.

WhereAreWeNow · 01/06/2023 21:03

I'd say you look best in the pink, white, and black pics which makes me think you're a winter.

toomanyleggings · 01/06/2023 21:04

I don’t think you can go wrong because you’re gorgeous!

MicrowaveRice · 01/06/2023 21:08

Your freckles are gorgeous! Sorry no help on colours!! 😂

Clearoutre · 01/06/2023 22:42

Yes the green and white tops really harmonise with your features (noticing a lovely green door behind you too). I’ll hazard that olive green is one of your best colours.

beepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeep · 02/06/2023 06:54

You can upload an image to this website and it will tell you - colorwise.me

teezletangler · 02/06/2023 07:04

You are so pretty! I think you have a cool undertone, and I also agree with others that you may be a Winter. The black, pink and white are your best colours here. Supposedly only Winters look good in black. The more muted colours (green and purple) are doing nothing for you.

Draping yourself in whatever clothes you have and taking photos near a window, in indirect light, is really what you need to do.

Norachance · 02/06/2023 07:13

My favourite pic of you is the white top one. You are so pretty and I am jealous of you freckles!
I think the black outfit is less flattering. I would love to have my colours done too so following with interest!

Yes. Definitely. My sister is a winter and I am a summer. Both suit the cool toned colours, but mine are softer and muted, hers are brighter and clearer jewel colours. I wish I could wear the bright colours, but I just look washed out.

endofthelinefinally · 02/06/2023 07:32

The best book for this is called Colour Me Beautiful by Carole Jackson. It is an old one, but so easy to use, with plenty of photographs, colour wheels and swatches.
You can get copies cheaply online.

itsmylife7 · 02/06/2023 07:32

The cerise pink looks amazing on your skin tone, and the white.
Think you need a deeper green.
Don't think the purple does much.
Your hair is lovely.

TheOGCCL · 02/06/2023 08:24

All your photos show you wearing cool colours but in different lights so it’s really not possible to tell as there’s not really a point of comparison.

Do you have any warm clothes like olive green or orange or brown? If you don’t you may be naturally veering towards Winter but whether that’s your season I’m not sure.

LadyEloise1 · 02/06/2023 08:28

Lots of information on Pinterest too. I'd second the Kettlewell website. They do a quiz that should help you.
Though I still don't know if I'm a Light Spring or Light summer. Lilac and similar colours look awful on me and they are Summer colours.

I think it is only £35 for an analysis with Emily at Style Me Happy. She's very approachable and reliable I was really pleased with my analysis after trying unsuccessfully to guess via the colour me beautiful book. I tried some apps too and found it very easy to get inconsistent results and to manipulate the results.

Often the online advice is poor for women of colour and some analysts seem to really struggle with seeing warmth/coolness in women of colour.

I would recommend a look at Emily's Facebook page and the group. I would also suggest that you take a look at the concept wardrobe as they have some really useful articles on understanding analysis, the 12 season model and the common mistakes and misunderstandings (I was confused about tanning), I have linked their article on the issues of analysing different races.
