I really can't justify paying to get "my colours done", but am really interested! If I post something pics can anyone help give me some pointers??

I think you look best in the purple, some of the black and (although I can't see your face so harder to tell) the bright pink. I'm least keen on the pale Green / turquoise. However that might be because in all the pics I like, you're wearing your hair down which I think looks great. You're also smiling in some pics and pulling faces in others, wearing lipstick in at least one but not the others, so it's hard to tell what's influencing me.

I think it's funny that we're all seeing the photos differently, even though that's not very helpful for you! It kind of confirms my view that this business has little to do with any kind of objective truth and that it's mostly just personal opinions. And my other personal opinion is that you look lovely.

Deep Winter!

SteveBuscemisRheumyEye · 03/06/2023 16:48

@Floisme that's so interesting; really good points!

I would say broadly winter as pastel colours don’t suit you, I think black does suit you especially if you also wear a contrasting colour with it and some lipstick to “ lift” the look, and you do better with bright/ strong colours rather than muted. I agree with Floisme it’s not an exact science and there’s room to go off piste with colours that aren’t diagnosed as being “ your” colours if they are chosen and go well together.

CheeseMuffin · 03/06/2023 15:59

I would say winter? You have similar colouring to Meghan Markle - take a look at the colours she wears as they'd probably suit you.

Good point about Meghan Markle, there’s obviously loads of pics of her to look at and get inspiration from, she really knows what suits her shape and colour wise.

I second this op.

SteveBuscemisRheumyEye · 03/06/2023 17:13

I also just wanted to say thank you to people who've made (VERY) unexpectedly kind comments about me. I have really low self-esteem and people saying unsolicited nice things about me has been really emotional. Thank you.

I think Maghan Markle is an autumn? Not a winter

You're a wee stunner op ☺️

SirVixofVixHall · 03/06/2023 17:18

Hmm, I think maybe warm, so possibly Autumn not Winter, but have a look at red leopard’s posts on Instagram as that will give you better tips on working out what happens to skin tone with different colours.
You are astonishingly pretty OP ! Gorgeous!

timefornewme2023 · 03/06/2023 17:18

Just another one here to say you are absolutely gorgeous OP - probably look good in anything but agree with PPs that whatever 'season' you are tot look best in brights !

HappyMe6 · 03/06/2023 17:22

Well I think you are lovely looking lady and I’d say the pink and the white does you proud, and the black

IAteAllTheTomatoes · 03/06/2023 17:26

Just really you have really low self esteem, hope that improves for you. Sincerely you are look great - you have lovely eyes, great skin, the freckles are fab and your hair is lovely, especially when you wear it down.

I think the pink is the best colour on you and I suspect a stronger green would be fab too
None of them are really bad or draining, just more neutral.

teezletangler · 03/06/2023 17:28

I was curious so looked it up. Apparently MM is a deep autumn, which is a season that can also wear some brighter winter colours successfully. So OP might be able to wear some of the bolder colours MM wears, but I'm not convinced she'd suit the camels/browns/neutrals that are the MM signature.

SteveBuscemisRheumyEye · 03/06/2023 17:40

@teezletangler interestingly the one thing I know I can't wear is beige/ camel etc. I honestly look dead!

SteveBuscemisRheumyEye · 03/06/2023 17:41

And my school uniform was brown so have a natural aversion to it 🤣

Darklane · 03/06/2023 17:53

I think you’re definitely a winter of some sort, there are several variations on it. If you were one of the warm seasons, Spring or Autumn, the camel to brown colours though perhaps not your best wouldn’t make you look dead. I’ve had my colours done,HoC, & came out a Spring though not an obvious one as I’m very pale with natural white/blonde hair. Was thoroughly expecting to be Summer or Winter but no, was diagnosed Spring but a Blue Spring meaning the blues/ purples/ turquoise type cooler spring colours are the best for me rather than the yellows etc. White suits you were it makes me look ready to be interred! Just to say it did seem an outlay at the time but was the best money ever spent fashion wise as it’s saved me so much on unsuitable buys since.

SteveBuscemisRheumyEye · 03/06/2023 17:59

Just to say I have looked into it again today but gosh, it's £250 locally 😨 @Darklane

Look at Carole Jackson's website and book OP. She is really good.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 03/06/2023 19:23

Its entirely possible you have a neutral skin tone. I do. I suit white, black, brights, certain strong pastels. You just have to keep holding colours up to your face before you buy anything and see how your skin looks.

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 03/06/2023 19:41

Where are you looking, OP?

My local area (Cheltenham) has someone that charges £150 for three hours or £125 for two. I'm so tempted!

I'm looking on Colour Me Beautiful.

supadupapupascupa · 03/06/2023 19:54

Think about the colours that are bad in you as much as the ones that are good!
Also you will find some colours from different seasons will be good

MMAMPWGHAP · 03/06/2023 20:00

Skimmed the thread. Had mine done years ago. It’s much much easier to see on other people. So going in a small group is good. They do say that you’re more likely to use your colours when you decorate your house. As long as you don’t slavishly follow trends, eg painting lots of navy blue.

Nope. Winters have dark hair but light coloured eyes. The OP has lovely dark eyes.

RelentlessForwardProgress · 04/06/2023 15:02

SteveBuscemisRheumyEye · 03/06/2023 15:47

Okay! Last lot, taken just now in same light. Cream, white and black!

(I think I look the same in all of them 🫣)

I think the brilliant white looks much better on you than the cream or the black, but I don't know what this means in terms of season

CheeseMuffin · 04/06/2023 16:02

Not necessarily. Winters can have dark eyes.
