I have to admit - I hated that Ellie Saab dress when I first saw it. But it’s grown on me.

A rare post from me on the S&B board but I love these threads and thank everyone who posted informatively about the Coronation.

It might have been the previous one, but going back to the chat about Kate's and Sophie's dresses, plus Kate's neckline and additional material...

I've just listened to Rory Stewart on his podcast, he attended as a Privy Councillor, and he said that originally the dress code was not to wear robes etc. but that was changed only last Monday. So it makes sense that their dresses were designed to be seen and necklines not designed for the gowns. He himself chose to attend in Privy Council uniform (the same as Mordaunt avoided!) and had to get it from a film costume specialist!

(Apols if this has already been discussed, I didn't recall seeing it)

Sophie was indeed dancing! A bit like a Bruce Springsteen video with the wind blowing through her hair … and she looked great! 😁
Edward did try a bit if dad dancing and poor James nearly cringed himself inside out. 😂

I keep thinking about the Coronation crowns, and I’ve decided I don’t really like them much, even through all their splendour because I don’t like the purple lining bit. Do they have to have that bit in or could they be worn without it, more a circlet style? I think that’s the style I would like to see at the next coronation. A bit more medieval and less pouffy.

I mostly lurk but have to voice my admiration for Eugenie over the last few days! How she's managing to look stylish AND wear heels all the time I don't know, her hair and skin look amazing too - at that stage of pregnancy I just looked like a hot and sweaty whale

Bea looks fab too but edging towards worryingly skinny to me a bit like Edward at the moment

Further to the comments about Bea and Eug not being (or likely to be) 'proper' working royals, I do find it curious that Eugenies instagram posts always appear to be very similar in wording and style to the Wales' and (to me at least) imply their engagements etc are 'official' I don't really understand the setup there - can't anyone explain please?

Lady Helen Taylor does look fab, Sarah Chatto - amazing in an understated way and Gabriella Windsor always looks elegant.

I wouldn't know, but I imagine Bea&Eug do charity work as many aristo women do. Not sure if it's in an official capacity or not?
