Who is the lady in oyster pink in the photo beside Sarah Chatto ?
Sarah Chatto always looks so chic.
Gabriella Windsor too.
It wasn't just Harry wearing Dior - note Helen Kent Taylor's shoed. I dislike very obvious branding.
I agree re Suella's choice @CliffsofMohair.
I didn't like Rose Hanbury's dress. Wasn't one of her twin boys with George in the procession.
I wonder why his twin brother wasn't included ?
Or perhaps he had another "job" on the day.

MaggieFS · 10/05/2023 12:00

I also dislike obvious branding but didn't see it so it was wasted on me 😂.

Do you mean this lady in oyster pink? She's Margarita Armstrong-Jones, grand daughter of princess Margaret. I can def see the family resemblance to her mum!

(As in Margarita's mum, Serena Stanhope, not Princess Margaret's mum!!!)

Re Hanbury twins - one is set to inherit the titles etc, the other not. It was the “spare” 😉that was chosen to be a page, as some kind of consolation prize!

LadyEloise1 · 10/05/2023 13:22

Thank you @MaggieFS
I thought it was an older woman from the side view and yes she is very like her mum.

eggandonion · 10/05/2023 14:47

Twins must be difficult if one is an aristocrat what with ones title.

Maireas · 10/05/2023 17:20

Re: Eugenie and Beatrice - they're not working royals, but I do agree that they often present as such. Any charitable work is on their own initiative. It was QE2 who was clear about their future, in spite of much lobbying from their father. They in turn have tried to put their case to Charles and latterly William, but to no avail. They also want to see their father brought back in, but I don't know if that will ever happen.
It must be tricky for Oliver to see his twin as the heir! Imagine if George had been a twin.

I don't think there's ever been a set of twins in the British royal family has there? Except maybe in the Middle Ages when they didn't survive. Or one of Queen Anne's many unsuccessful pregnancies.

KillingMeDeftly · 10/05/2023 17:31

I guess a slimmed down royal family will just have to do less. The sticking point will be whether they then cost less too!

Maireas · 10/05/2023 17:31

No, I can't think of any.

eggandonion · 10/05/2023 18:11

In my own family tree twins didn't survive until about 1980. So I suppose royal twins were equally unlucky. My mum's friend had twins born at home in 1964. The second one wasn't expected. Twins seemed to be a massive event. I feel ancient!

Happy Birthday Prince Charles! 🎈

Some lovely pictures here to make you smile on a Wednesday morning!

I've just realised with the Coronation, we'll no longer need to qualify which Prince Charles is the object of our virtual smooshes.

KillingMeDeftly · 10/05/2023 19:33

There are a few sets of twins among other royal families though - Monaco of course, and Denmark. And I think the king of Jordan has sisters who are twins.

KillingMeDeftly · 10/05/2023 19:34

A friend of mine saw that last week @justasking111 and said it was brilliant!

I'm glad. I'd love to go but present health won't allow.

Bea at a book launch with Nadine from Girls Aloud (?). She of the missing passport <old times reference>. Dress layered over shirt

Perhaps they shouldn't badger Charles about their father. But have made their own case.

It's unfortunate that both parents are car crashes in the families eyes

eggandonion · 10/05/2023 20:19

Nadine was a very bold wee girl. The York girls seem very pleasant and Fergie too. But I don't know how they move past the obvious elephant in the room.

CliffsofMohair · 10/05/2023 20:23

Because we rightly assume that his behaviour is abhorrent and unusual for men of his class. But it may not be.This might just be the one we know about. They may all privately feel very different about him.

Maireas · 10/05/2023 21:10

Fair points, @justasking111 . Also pushing the "blood princesses" angle doesn't work when we think how successful Kate and Sophie have been (also Birgitte).

I like Bea's blue dress, but I'm a sucker for white collars over dresses&jumpers!

justasking111 · 11/05/2023 08:59

Doesn't she look lovely

I've always thought Brigitte was an unsung royal style heroine. There was an orange dress with green accessories that she wore a few years ago that I really liked and she was wearing giant headbands long before Kate or the York girls were born!

Gonegrey31 · 11/05/2023 09:34

Brigitte wears lots of Max Mara , I always enjoy looking at her clothes.
