In addition to his mother being American, Albert and his sisters spent lots of time in the US with his mother's family while growing up. Also he went to university in the US. Caroline and Stephanie also speak English with an American accent although Caroline's tends to be a bit mid-Atlantic.

Thanks for that, @MmePoppySeedDefage - quite an interesting range of jewellery and outfits. Some more successful than others, I feel. Good colours, though and Princess Sophie wins the updo challenge. All these European titles can get a little confusing, there are so many branches.

It pains me these pretenders and random old titles have white tie and honours for a wedding and we had boring old hats and coats for a coronation!

Tell me about it, @paradyning - although George V had a point when he looked at his European cousins and thought let's limit who gets a title. I love all the German ones, they have such fantastic names.

The dress looks like it should be ok, but something doesn't work here. I also prefer her platinum blonde, but it's always nice to try out a new look.

Yes, I agree - a scoop or bateau neckline, definitely a belt. I like Alexandra's look and covet Tatiana's skirt.

I love the idea of Charlene’s dress, but it totally swamps her here. A more fitted version would have worked well, I think.

I normally love Charlene’s style, but that doesn’t do anything for her at all. It’s shapeless, the neckline and shoulder shape are too basic. And I also prefer her hair blonde, it makes her glow. 🙁sorry Charlene ….

Agree - she's usually more stylish than that and I much prefer her platinum blonde.
Char looks amazing in tailored separates - shirt/trousers etc and has the figure to go much sleeker like Leti.

I think Charlotte is maybe a bit self conscious about her weight I'm wondering if she's taking steroids for her illness. My friend put on weight while on a very necessary treatment.

I think I read her family are in Monaco these days which must be cheering. She's been through a lot health wise
