Charlene?

I hope that isn’t the case about her maybe feeling self conscious. She would look amazing in most things.

If this dress was made for her then the one fitting her needs telt. It would be tricky without spoiling the line of the stripes probably but still.

It just doesn’t look right for her. And in that particular photo, it doesn’t look as though she feels magnificent in it either.

I normally love Charlene’s style, but that doesn’t do anything for her at all. It’s shapeless, the neckline and shoulder shape are too basic. And I also prefer her hair blonde, it makes her glow. 🙁sorry Charlene ….

The dress reminds me of Jason Donovan’s Joseph and the technicolour dreamcoat costume

Papergirl1968 · 28/05/2023 23:35

Yes, @Toomanycaketins has it - it's a bit Technicolour Dreamcoat (and shapeless)

notsuchafrugalkitty · 28/05/2023 23:42

I thought Charlene looked miserable in the photos today, really glum.

themessygarden · 29/05/2023 04:39

Charlene's dress is dreadful, both the colour and the design, and it doesn't even suit the occasion. Her recent outfits have done nothing for her, it looks like her stylist is trying to camouflage her weight gain and it is doing the exact opposite. Sadly, she looks totally zoned out in most of these recent public appearances. 🙁

I love Charlotte's flowery halter dress and Alexandra's heart print dress, which is really cute.

GrouchyKiwi · 29/05/2023 09:14

Charlene's dress reminds me of the start of the F1 coverage (where they play The Chain).

themessygarden · 29/05/2023 09:29

She looked absolutely stunning at the Gala !!

@CliffsofMohair - you're laughing at the dental work.
I'm Shock at the other comment by @KillingMeDeftly 😀

Maireas · 29/05/2023 09:36

That's definitely a better look. Charlene looks more relaxed and hair and makeup look good.

Charlene’s rainbow stripe dress could have looked nice if the neckline and sleeveline had been different, but as it was it was just a big shapeless block. Such a shame. That black and white flowy number looks lovely though, and she does look a lot happier in it.

Papergirl1968 · 29/05/2023 10:51

The black and white dress is a bit better but still not great, I don't think. It looks weird where the co!our changes - I can't call it a waistband as it's too high.

MmePoppySeedDefage · 29/05/2023 14:24

I'm afraid my first thought was that that dress was inspired by the belted Galloway:

Maireas · 29/05/2023 14:25

I love those cows. The calves look exactly the same!

gluenotsoup · 29/05/2023 15:33

Well, that dress is an improvement. I liked it til I saw the Galloways, now I can’t I unsee it 😬😳.
She is beautiful though, and I do hope she’s not self conscious and unhappy, we all deserve more than that.

I feel so sad and sorry for Charlene (as much as you can do for a glamorous multi-millionaire stranger!). She looks so sad and completely trapped & her husband is such a philanderer. I really hope she is happy or at least able to find happiness in the future.

MotherofPearl · 29/05/2023 21:51

I think Charlene looks loads better in the black and white dress (though she appears to have Rasputin as her escort).

I totally agree with @ArcaneWireless that a scoop neck would have saved the rainbow dress. High necks are very rarely flattering imo.

Papergirl1968 · 30/05/2023 22:12

I like Leti's dress and bag. Less keen on Eugenie's dress but she is clearly ready to pop.

Gooseysgirl · 30/05/2023 22:29

Sorry I'm just not a fan of those shorter dresses Eugenie has been wearing this pregnancy, they just don't work unless maybe with dark tights. She mustn't be too far off having the baby now - I hope it all goes well for her.

I know I'm in the minority, but I liked Charlene's rainbow dress... I saw footage of her walking in it and it looked fabulous! The still photos do not do it justice!

justasking111 · 30/05/2023 23:19

Poor Eugenie it's too warm to be in late pregnancy. Her husband has a job in Portugal. I wonder when Jack will get back to it. A summer there with the two children would be lovely.

RockaLock · 31/05/2023 06:47

Sophie looks amazing here! Love the dress.

Eaumyword · 31/05/2023 08:33

Sophie looks good, Leti looks fab - love the colours and style of Leti's dress.
Agree Eug's dress is too short but she's probs just wearing whatever's comfy at this stage!

Maireas · 31/05/2023 08:51

I like Leti's dress. Sophie looks very good - her hair is lovely like that.

Sophie looks good and that woman next to her could be her twin!
