I have to confess to have succumbed to a pair of white shoes, but with a block heel. I love that shade of red as well.

Admittedly it's about the making of the ceremonial uniforms rather than royal style, but this was is fascinating watch. And for Sewing Bee enthusiasts, presented by Patrick Grant.

I’m just going to come right out and say it - Kate looked ridiculously overdressed to ride on the tube and go to a pub. I mean honestly. She would have been much better in one of her pleated skirts and jumper combos - just a bit less stiff and formal. I am also somewhat bored of the literal colours (I sometimes pop onto a style blog that follows her and the GUSHING there though… honestly!)

I did like Sophie’s garden party look though - I think someone from my village was there but I haven’t spotted her in the pics yet!

It was the sort of ensemble I'd expect Kate to wear to open a civic centre in Surrey, not to visit a pub!

I quite like Sophie's pink gingham - it really suited her.
