Checking in! I did not like Kates outfit yesterday. For Mmmm as someone else said for a trip on the tube to the pub she could have mixed it up a bit. I notice she did drink some of the cider though!

I admire the dedication, and seriously might need to up my game🙂😂.
We are planning a bit of an all day afternoon tea type thing, cakes, scones, clotted cream, fizz and so on, so today will be baking for that. I’ll probably watch the important bits and dip in and out of the tv (and here..) all day. I don’t plan on cooking etc. We’re trying to make it a memorable event for the dc’s, they’ve got a piano lesson later where they have been doing coronation music, which has been really lovely.
The wedding photos were lovely, beautiful table settings, but can anyone shed any light on what this is on the cake?? It’s like a giant colon. 🤷🏻‍♀️😬😳

Alexandra's cake is a baumkuchen cake, a traditional wedding cake in Luxembourg. It's made by a complicated process of building up layers of caramelised batter on a spit, done by a very skilled specialist baker.
When it's cut you can see all the layers, like a tree.

Alexandra looks a bit like Marion Cotillard doesn't she?

I watched this last night it was fascinating - from the 16 century tool still used in helmet making to the button/medal factory, to the mill and the old sewing machine that could go though so much cloth and tailors work and library of uniforms- and how excited the military personal were with their new uniforms.

I really enjoyed that programme. Patrick was a bonus. 👑

I agree. After listening to some of the incorrect and sometimes downright inane commentary on US media for the late Queen's death and funeral, I found some of his coverage and commentary on YouTube. Refreshing to hear someone who knows Scottish royal history in particular (important for the service held in St. Giles.)

That's a nice dress and the Aquazurra shoes are pretty. I think Meghan has the same pair or very similar.

It's also been a busy week for our eternal birthday girl. She's presented the Princess Mary Scholarship and had a meeting of the Princess Mary Foundation (I sense a theme...) and then Major Mary reported for duty!
