Closed toe sandals

Hello, I'm looking for some closed toe sandals (toenails removed years ago, look rank so have to be covered!)

They need a bit of a heel/wedge of 3/4cm as I have problems with my Achilles tendons.

They need to be cheap! I'm very poor!

I've looked at Hotter, Pavers, Sketchers & they all have ones that I like but are all a bit pricey.

I could possibly go up to £50 BUT only if they are perfect. Last year I spent £20 each on 3 different pairs that all didn't fit properly/looked awful/not like the photos (& I'm still gutted at wasting £60 a year later)

I resorted to wearing these kind of trainers from Shoe zone which were lovely & comfortable but very hot for my feet + I got through several pairs as they get discoloured from suncream/go through at the bottom/smell!

I do a fair amount of walking (& sweating!) even with my feet problems.

These are the shoes I resorted to wearing last summer. I like the colour & the heel is perfect but I'd prefer less fabricy/a bit more ventilated.

Have you tried primark? I got some closed toe sandals from there last summer and they were surprisingly comfortable. Only £7 but looked more expensive.
It's hit and miss with primark to ve honest in terms of quality and looks but you could go in and try them on.

Botheredland · 03/05/2023 13:19

Also Raid shoes aren't bad either

Cocolapew · 03/05/2023 13:21

Type closed toe sandals into Etsy, they have loads.

KoallaMama · 03/05/2023 13:23

Thank youSmile

I've looked on Etsy, they are pricey & it's usually too high or lack of heel but I will have another look.

I've got some from Primark before (Espadrille type ones) but they were too tight across the top of my foot. I can try again though as we have a Primark still open (seems like most of our shops are shut!)

I love these!
Has anybody ordered from shuperb?

Thank you Gatekeeper, I love ones like that but the big toe nails are visible & those are the ones I need hidden!

Sling back wedges?

octoberafternoons · 03/05/2023 21:35

Have a look at El Naturalista.
They are generally over your budget but you can often find them discounted on Amazon and elsewhere.

MulberryDerry · 03/05/2023 21:37

I'd decide on the style, try in the shop and buy on Vinted! I have been buying expensive shoes there in pristine condition that would extend your budget

TruthRevolution · 03/05/2023 21:39

Sounds daft but can you paint where your toenails should be so it wouldn't be immediately obvious that the nails are missing, nobody would look too closely at your feet under shoes.

I've also seen fake toenails in primark recently!

KoallaMama · 03/05/2023 21:40

MulberryDerry I can never find anything on Vinted! I don't know what I'm doing wrong but whatever I type in there's barely anything or nothing come up.

Thanks declutteringmymind. I'd rather avoid slingbacks tbh as I'm so paranoid about them slipping & damaging my feet some more!

octoberafternoons I hadn't heard of those, they are pricey but I like them.

Under shoes like @Gatekeeper linked I meant to add.

KoallaMama · 03/05/2023 21:43

TruthRevolution It's not daft, when I had them removed it was sold to me as 'You will be able to paint a fake nail in the space' but (sorry to be gross) one of them has a weird lump of skin kind of half grown over it & the other one the nail constantly grows back in kind of like a claw shape.

I did go to the GP & showed her but she literally said 'So? They aren't causing you pain & you can cover them with shoes'.

So, honestly, the only way to go is to hide them!

Ah OK!

KoallaMama · 03/05/2023 21:45

I've ordered the superb ones, £22 so fingers crossed they are amazing!

(I just have to do it otherwise I'll talk myself out of it & save the money for the kids)

Are they Josef Seibel shoes? If so, love these shoes and have a couple of pairs in different colours. Don’t know the website you mentioned.

KoallaMama · 03/05/2023 21:51

I don't think so Riverlee. They are listed as Boulevard faux leather Mary Janes.

Amazon have quite a few styles. Search closed toe wedges or closed toe sandals.

Tigofigo Thank you I'll have a look. The last ones don't have enough of a heel.
