Anything nice in Boden atm?

I had a look as they've got a sale coming up but failed to see anything I liked.

Can anyone recommend anything to have a look at? I am mid 40s size 12 very average.

Id take the opportunity of not finding anything worth buying, to not buy anything. Does it need to be boden? What are yiu looking for?

Branleuse you sound like my husband! You are, of course, entirely right. However sometimes it's nice to buy yourself a treat, particularly if it's on sale.

I'm short of clothes to wear to meet friends for lunch. Nice tops, pretty dress, that sort of thing. Summer clothes really.

I got a nice square neck swimsuit and a halter neck bikini from Boden the other day. I agree Boden is mostly a bit frumpy but I do quite like their swimswear

Their quality has gone down hill rapidly, OP.
I used to buy from them a while ago and they used to be amazing for style and quality/durability.

I got excited yesterday as they sent me a voucher to coincide with 25% off. But nope, nothing I liked. I loved Boden until a couple of years ago, used to buy so much from there.

OK thanks all, not just me thinking it's gone right off.

And I do like that skirt @VenusClapTrap but it would not suit me at all. If I were tall and skinny I'd be all over it!

That skirt is good exmaple of the quality decline, imo. It's a nice skirt but £70 for an unlined skirt is outrageous, imo.

I've just been browsing Selfridge's and there are dresses on there in the thousands and they're 100% polyester.

I bought this last week. They had a 20% off new in clothes so got it for £68. Its lovely on.

I was a Boden loyal customer until they decided not to make any normal clothes any more. I'm sitting here in a Boden black cotton jumper with button cuffs from 2017 and some boden Richmonds trousers, but they don't sell this kind of everyday workwear any more it's all puffed sleeve tiered floral tents, crop tops and ugly ugly dresses for size 0 american teens. I am disparing. I now shop at Vinted, Ebay for old Boden, and at Baukjen, Mint Velvet and Tesco for my work clothes.

in past years I have bought a number of these dresses which are great for throwing on. At the reduced price they are good value, wash and wear very well!

I haven't bought anything other than swimwear from Boden for several years, but I have just bought this. Hasn't arrived yet, so I don't know what it will look like on.

I used to buy a silk shirt most seasons, but the recent colours have been eye-waveringly garish.

No. The quality has dropped through the floor, but I don't mind so much because they've decided to not do Boden anymore. Now, it's all frilly stuff in awkward colours modelled by pouty teenagers and tiresome influencers. It is like a completely different brand which I, as a 50+ year-old woman, have no desire to shop from. What a shame!

I used to buy jeans from them. I liked the fit of the jeans which sat at the waist. Just fairly standard straight leg jeans. My jeans are now wearing out and I need some more but there just isn’t the same basic style without big flares or frayed ankles or very wide leg.

Most recent purchases from Boden were a bikini and loafers!

I got a Boden wrap dress in a StitchFix box recently which was coincidently the same dress that I had already bought from Boden about a year ago, just in a different colour.

I bought 4 or 5 Boden maxi dresses from Ebay for our summer holiday last year, paid about £10-£15 each instead of the £70-ish buying brand new.

You can sometimes find a nice dress if you really search for it - the Florrie dress is a nice cut in jersey material and I have 2 from previous years that I wear for work (office job) in the summer, but recently they've been offering the dress in prints (the two I have are plain navy and polka dot) that don't work for me so I haven't bothered buying any more. Nothing nice in Boden these days, I occasionally have a look on Vinted for their dresses. I'm going to give up looking soon, but I get their cards in the post, and even then, it's just not nice anymore. I used to like their dresses for work.
