Anything nice in Boden atm?

I had a look as they've got a sale coming up but failed to see anything I liked.

Can anyone recommend anything to have a look at? I am mid 40s size 12 very average.

I think their ploy may have worked. I’ve just been on their site and found a nice pair of linen trousers (in petite) that could replace my old knackered ones.

@VenusClapTrap I’ve just bought a dress for a wedding from Jolie Moi. I’ve got a few things from them and they’re all good quality at a decent price.

I bought a Boden one piece and bikini with my voucher and discount recently and like them but I don't think I'll ever buy from Boden again. Everything else there is tat and has been for a long time. They recently asked me to do a survey evaluating some garments - I took great pleasure in going £85 for a strip of garish polyester, no way!! For every single piece. I can't be bothered to search the site and miss the old catalogues which inspired me - I can see they wanted to cut costs by getting rid of them but now I can't be bothered to go searching through pages and pages of rubbish for the one thing.

They still have the Richmond trousers but only in black and navy and they don't fit like they used to do. Sad times - Boden we are your core customers and you are alienating us; you can't compete with ASOS.....

I think boden have forgotten lots of us need workwear. Teachers. Solicitors. Etc.
The dresses are all too much

i work in an office 5 days a week and we are not 'creatives' so we can't wear trackie bottoms..... Boden was my mainstay for workwear so i'm feeling totally marooned. I buy old boden off Vinted and have started to wear Saint Sofia, Mint Velvet and other stuff but the boden staples (the trousers, the blazers, the non puffy cashmere and the non puff sleeve Ts) are all gone, today it's all flowery tents crop tops and hideous wide jeans that make you look fat.....

We seem to have established that Boden as we knew it has gone. So aside from buying old Boden off vinted, where else is worth trying for stuff we used to buy from them?

Any money saved on the 20% discount would be taken up by having to apply half a gallon of sunblock every morning.

I still buy their Richmond trousers. But haven't bought anything else in ages... They used to be great for well-made wardrobe staples. My last Boden velvet coat lasted me for 13 years. Now it's just polyester shite.

The only nice things I get from Boden our their basics as they’re usually 100% cotton so feel really fresh on me, think in the sale they’re around £18ish

I'm keeping an eye on Next's Love & Roses. I've only had a jumper from them so far because most of their summer stuff is in really bright colours which don't suit me, but fingers crossed. They do petites and use actual adult women as models 🙌

Thinking about it, I did get some nice high waisted shorts from Boden last year for my summer holiday. The prints were too much for wearing in the UK but felt perfectly fine for loafing about the hotel in Spain!

Where do you shop?

I have Hush, Mint Velvet, Tesco F&F, marks and spencer and Saint+Sofia in the wardrobe now. Still miss the proper Boden stuff, the nice ottoman dresses.... but will look after the old stable of them I have. Maybe Jonny Boden will see sense... can only presume some 19 year old management consultants have told them to do this.

But any ideas where to go for a Petites range? I would ditto all the above comments, loved the old Boden, for me and my children, even DH occasionally, but now, nothing. I so miss putting on a new piece of clothing that actually fits. Their Petites range fitted like it was made to measure.

Don't be tempted. The absolute worst online shopping experience I've had and god knows I love to shop. They have a hidden clause in their T&Cs which means if you send anything back you get a credit note instead of a refund. Customer service is awful. Took months and months of tooing and froing for me to manage to get a refund. Never again.

If anyone has a branch of Scope near them then check it out as Boden is a corporate donor. One branch aI visited recently had lots of questionable tops in two designs whilst another had nice navy dresses suitable for work in thick jersey for circa £9.

I'd stopped shopping at Biden & don't even look anymore but actually the things that people of linked to on this thread are really nice!

I've bought a lot from Saint & Sophia and I'm pleased with it but I've never had to send anything back so can't come t on their customer service! Maybe I've been lucky!

I have heard that Saint & Sofia has terrible customer service. I bought a cotton biker jacket from their site a month or so ago which was not nearly as nice or as well cut as it looked on their website. I then read the reviews about people trying to return stuff and decided to live with the jacket. @Sisisimone, surely not being prepared to give a refund on an online purchase returned unworn and in original condition is against distance selling regulations?

YouOKHun I did quote that to them but they had some clause in their T&Cs that they kept quoting back to me. Eventually they gave it me back but it was a real ballache and not one I'd risk again
