I've always thought Kate looked like Katie Holmes!

A stylist and colour analyst that I follow on insta says that Kate's colour palette is 'Cool Summer' Lots of blue in there but not the bright blue she wore at Easter!

Late to the discussion but I love cobalt blue (as @Maireas can attest to on another S&B thread from last year 😉).

Yes, we summers have loads of lovely colours but they must be cool and muted, not clear and bright. Easter’s blue was clear and bright. As well as a smidgeon too long.

Not all of those colours will look amazing on her. Some will, the others will complement those.

I agree @paradyning. I think she looks great in olive, berry, russet and forest green. Not so much the icy pastels.

Colour analysis is certainly interesting though!

@paradyning it's interesting isn't it! I don't think lighter blues are great on her at all, but I love her in bright red and that's not on the palette 🤷🏻‍♀️ the reds are more muted.

This is the same as my (HOC) palette. The mid / dark ones on mine are starred as my best colours. We do have a cherry red.

@Chewbecca I've got similar samples...but mine are for a new couple of sofas. I'm leaning towards a regal 👑 purple shade.

How exactly does one work out what colours one should wear? (other than mens grey or purple t shirts 😳 with jeans) enquiring for a friend

These are the HoC summer colours, I gave it as my screen background so always to hand if I want to check something.
Blue is interesting, we can't do ice blue, that's a winter shade as they have the lightest of the cool (icy) pastels.

Here's the EBG attending an event. I rather like the floral dress, it's not too ditzy. However, on the website, Rotate, it's actually backless! So it's a good call to wear the jacket! (I know that the dress is probably custom and not actually backless...)

It's probably still a bit chilly for a backless dress in Copenhagen!

Gorgeous dress on Mary! I wonder if it was altered to make it not backless? I suppose we'll never know... Can you imagine the hoo-ha and pearl-clutching here in UK if KM appeared in a backless frock 😆 Such a shame because I bet backless would be totally stunning on her!

She has worn a backless dress once, I think, maybe to a Bond premiere? It was either backless or very sheer at the back and shock horror, she may not have worn a bra with it!

Oh, I know the one you mean, @KillingMeDeftly - was it ice blue, with a chiffon back? Quite daring. Even more of a risk in chilly Copenhagen, as you say - she probably had it made in a more modest style!

I think it's this Jenny Packham one that @KillingMeDeftly means, am I right? The back was sheer chiffon. No re-wear on this, either.

Ladies you have great memories - well spotted!!! Both gorgeous dresses actually and would be good to see some rewears! And I was right, she does have a great back for sheer or backless... am v jealous, I'm in the short-torso, well-rounded bottomed dept and it is definitely not a good look on me 👀

I think she's reworn the teal one but not for a few years. I'm pretty sure the back of that one is lined in a flesh-coloured figure-skating mesh type of fabric though!
