@Noodle421 I’ve been looking at the cobalt version of that dress, such a lovely colour. What’s the sizing/fit like please?

Noodle421 · 29/05/2023 18:04

@Saurus72 I bought the small. I’m 5ft 7/8 and it hangs below knee, quite long but not long enough to cover ankles. The slim part of my ankles and beginning of the widening section of calf can be clearly seen. There’s quite a lot of material but it hangs beautifully and is not voluminous ( I often have trouble suiting Toast dresses because of the excess fabric ). It cinches in at the waist which gives it shape. I find it so comfortable and easy to wear. Throw it on and all you need is a pair of shoes to complete the outfit. I’m a Toast size 10/12 - closer to a 12 at the moment. I recently tried on the chambray tiered dress ( I had to choose between this and the linen one) and the best fit on me was a 14. Hope this gives you an idea of size. To sum up, there is a lot of fabric, I don’t find it voluminous, it hangs, swishes and swings beautifully. I’m quite surprised the small was the best fit. Excellent quality. ( colour is amazing if you like blue).

Saurus72 · 29/05/2023 18:19

That’s really helpful thanks v much!

lordloveadog · 29/05/2023 21:39

Noodle, I have the Franca - in fact I'm wearing it right now. It is indeed plain but beautifully cut and fun and easy to dress up.

Noodle421 · 30/05/2023 08:53

@lordloveadog that’s good to hear ! Thank you

ilovecherries · 30/05/2023 16:53

My blue Agnes wrap dress arrived and I love it. It’s a bit Eau de charity shop despite being new with tags but nothing that a wash won’t fix. So pleased with it though, wouldn’t have been inspired to try it had it not been for loving the jungley print one I bought on the FB page. Had always been convinced I was the wrong shape for them.

To balance things up though, seasalt linen dress was a bit of a disaster. Far too big but not in a good way, I just looked a bit droopy and sad in it. Also got the navy linen trousers from SS, jury still out on them. They were bought in an attempt to avoid buying the toast balloon trousers but aren’t proving to be the dupe I hoped. Otoh, good basic pair of linen trousers, nicely made, but I’m not sure I’ll love wearing them.

OftenOrange · 30/05/2023 21:17

I had a browse in my local Toast , I noticed that the liquorice ? panelled linen dress was still there ; I think someone wanted to know about that .
The workwear trousers in French blue that I’d decided I had to have for the trip on Thursday , none to be had in stores , bet they will be in the sale .
The navy balloon trousers I’d also decided were a must have , were available in several stores though not mine .
I ended up buying the pale green easy T as a sop , ( a nice sop)
I never used to care about missing out on the Summer sale , now I love the
sales and will try not to mind , shall enjoy hearing all about it here !

Noeggsontoast · 01/06/2023 10:41

My order of the fenugreek balloon trousers and coral embroidered top arrived today. I took my usual size in the trousers and a perfect fit. So far I'm not seeing any size differences at all. The same with the top too. The trousers are a lightweight linen, but that's exactly what I want. I really like the shape and with the top make a lovely outfit which I'm excited to wear. I am now very tempted to get the trousers in the midnight except I wear a lot of navy, and so I shall restrain myself. The pale blue is too pale for me so not an option.

dudsville · 01/06/2023 14:03

What's a sop @OftenOrange ?

My trouser order arrived, shall update after work.

MiracleToast · 01/06/2023 15:32

@Noeggsontoast i am also seriously considering the navy balloons. Chances of them being in the sale?

Today my raffia hat and the black coffee linen sundress arrived. In a box rather than a sack which was nice. Will update later when I’ve tried on. Happy that Toast got them here in time for the birthday heatwave weekend!

Stravaig · 01/06/2023 15:52

Ooh, I've always wondered if the 'black coffee' shade is more black or brown?

Hoping for the sundress in deep green, but it arrived in dungaree form instead!

Noeggsontoast · 01/06/2023 16:05

@MiracleToast none I fear. They've sold out and restocked and are a best seller. I hope your new purchases are perfect for you so you can enjoy your birthday weekend!

MiracleToast · 01/06/2023 16:08

@Stravaig i would say it leans more navy as a washed black than brown—but still very washed black. It’s very sunny here today so it’s difficult to get an accurate colour photo.

@Noeggsontoast thank you 🙏🏽

Stravaig · 01/06/2023 16:13

@MiracleToast That's good to know, thank you!

MiracleToast · 01/06/2023 16:29

Has anyone noticed the lemon juicer for £360 ? That’s a new level

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 01/06/2023 16:32

I'm having hot weather envy over here on the east coast, we're sitting at around 12 degrees. I'm back in my gabis and long sleeve emmas. I've only worn my Fenugreek balloon trousers a couple of times and my Seasalt dress is still unworn in the cupboard

dudsville · 01/06/2023 17:29

My garment dyed linen balloon trousers, a new sizing item, needs me to go up a size. That's good to know re the new sizing but i don't like the item so won't bother. I never like garment dyed stuff but always think this next item will be different!

I'm not sure about the indigo stripe cotton trousers. There's an unexpected button fly in addition to the elasticated waist, and i sized down but i can still easily get them on and off without using the buttons. I also think there's too much material in the inner leg. BUT i love how they feel on and how they're made, and i took pics and they look better in the pics than irl. Irl they had a very 80s girth that i think will gather in an awkward way when i walk, so I'll order another size down. Whilst I'm there I'll have a look at that lemon juicer 🤣.

Trinitybean · 01/06/2023 17:41

Lol, perhaps the juicer is a spaceship in disguise!

Snowyowl78 · 01/06/2023 19:22

Does anyone know if Toast have also updated the men’s sizing (ie. Made them smaller!) or if they remained the same? My stalking of reviews for intel has proved fruitless.

Laska2Meryls · 01/06/2023 19:25

£360 juicer ? 😮😮...

I haven't posted for a while as we have been out in the campervan for a few weeks ( currently in Denmark where its been fab weather) .. Hopefully ill be back in UK before the sale ( def if its after 14thJune ) .I wore my peaks print dress with the thorn shirt/ jacket and Steve mono sandals to the wedding we came for, but since then its been Toast Tees and jumpers .. but its Van Life and Northern Europe...you need to be practical...so ive also been in my jeans most of the time.. (but I did bring and have worn several times ) the new indigo panel trousers and can report that they have held up to campsite life well. .

Danish clothes and homeware shops are fabulous on the whole and pretty much just like Toast ( only more so, but probably about the same or higher prices... but DK is expensive) and I could buy so much .. but all I have succumbed to so far is a silver and Amber bracelet ..

Ooooh, @Laska2Meryls you make me want a camper van so badly!! Your lifestyle sounds fabulous.

BettinaInDenmark · 02/06/2023 07:46

Been a long time lurker here, as I enjoy to buy and wear Toast clothing so terribly much, but finally signed up fully to mumsnet...
I am so happy to hear that you are enjoying your time here in Denmark.!

Laska2Meryls · 02/06/2023 08:59

Hello Bettina.. great to ' meet' you.. Yes its fab here.. We have Danish relatives so come over to see them but this is the first time in our van traveling around ( currently at Ebeltoft , sadly now starting to make our way back home having gone right up the west jutland coast to Skagen) .

How can you stop yourself in Danish clothes and homeware shops ? So many lovely things.... 🙂

dudsville · 02/06/2023 09:33

Hi @BettinaInDenmark !

I agree, your holidays sounds amazing @ilovecherries . If you aren't home in time for the sale and it's only by a week you could still do it. I did this once and it was lovely to come home from holiday to toast shopping!

I'm v much looking forward to the June sale, this and the Christmas one are both like Christmas for me!

MiracleToast · 02/06/2023 20:38

Reporting back on my birthday outfit. The black coffee linen sundress fits me perfectly in a size small. I am a normal life size 10 and used to order a Toast 8. I wouldn’t want this dress any smaller and I have a small bust so anyone considering it I’d say definitely do new toast sizing. It’s beautiful, relaxed and perfect for this highland heatwave.

Likewise, the raffia sun hat in natural is lovely and doesn’t look too ridiculous at all. I like it brim down and folded and together the dress and hat make me very happy. As it’s my birthday I don’t mind not waiting for them in the sale and will enjoy feeling fabulous in the garden this weekend.
