What is going on? Looking for some new knickers and finding that many reviews are posted by male wearers?

Urgh it’s so pervy, red lips when discussing knickers.

Really don't care what pants anyone wears.

Totally get that it's a fetish. And of course causing outrage to m&s customers is part of the fetish. Tempted to point out to them that they must have pretty small dicks to fit those pants but I'm told that's a fetish too (humiliation). I find this all more boring than anything else.

However, m&s, if you're reading, the reason this puts me off your pants is I rely on reading your reviews before making a purchase. Especially stuff that can't be sent back after trying. I don't have time to filter out fetish reviews whose experience of fit and functionality is never going to be useful for me to know.

Why do posters pretend not to understand the issue with men wearing and reviewing women's knickers?

Neither DH or DS has ever experienced anything like this from women.

I am a very ordinary woman with a very ordinary life. I am not unusual and nor are my experiences. Men have sexual fetishes and paraphilas that are performed AT women and girls, drawing them into their fetish. I do not want to be part of any man's fetish - ever - and I should be able to buy a pair of knickers without being forced to.

Some men do actually like the feel of women's pants - and who knows, maybe the fit too. It's not necessarily all about "getting off", sometimes it's also the fit and comfort. A silky pair of pants does feel good next to the skin so why shouldn't it for men too? We're all different shapes and sizes - men's jeans used to fit me far better than women's.

Well said @unclebuck. These fetishes being performed at women and coercively enforcing our unwilling participation is enraging, as is the failure of anyone at these big brands (I'm sure M&S isn't alone and I don't boycott them) to recognise it for what it is.

I stopped buying knickers there because I discovered the ones from other shops actually fit. M&S seem to have overly long, narrow gussets.

I first noticed the mens reviews when I was looking for a full length slip for a summer dress and a man said it felt sexy and slept in it. The reviews from men tend to have more upticks than other reviews. They seem to like the shiny ones with matching bras and the thongs with big fronts.

I remember the thread about this a few years ago and also thought M&S deleted some of these reviews but they must be letting them back on. I did recently buy a multipack of pants in the sale and only realised after wearing them that they had the unsewn-down gusset which have got baggier and saggier. It's really put me off them as I wonder if it's to do with these men and 'tucking', though this might be why they were in the sale as too many complaints.

That M&S continue to publish all the pervert reviews year after year regardless of women's complaints says a lot about M&S.

I resent being unconsensually co-opted into a man's fetish.

When I read a review written by a man, on women's underwear, I am providing him gratification with my unwilling attention to his words and behaviour. I choose not to do that. I choose not to shop at M&S given they prioritise their male customers.

Because men's feelings and therefore men's sexual fetishes must be excused and justified no matter what. Even if it makes women uncomfortable. Same old same old.
