It seems Earl Spencer couldn't make it to her wedding either, so that's now 2 daughters' weddings he's not attended.

Wow the Spencer twins have changed a lot in the last few years 👀 I'll never forget Kitty's appearance at Harry's wedding in her D&G green ensemble. Amelia and Eliza appear to have undergone a similar transformation. I'm not at all keen on the wedding dress, but LOVE the shimmery gold number halter from one of the pre-wedding shindigs... sorry can't find a good enough pic that's not a DM link. Bizarre that Earl has missed two of his daughters' weddings now, there's obviously been some kind of a falling out. Also why anyone would miss the chance to sport the Spencer tiara!!! All a bit strange...

I think the bride looks beautiful in that photograph.
I don't see the vibes many of you are seeing re the wedding dress.
I'm not keen on the flaring of the skirt towards the bottom end of it,
it makes it overly fussy. I think a straight skirt would have been nicer.
I rarely buy Hello, as I find it very sycophantic, but for big occasions- Oscars, big Royal events and some celebrity weddings I will buy it as the photos are great.

I’m not keen on the dress either. The lace but is too thick and chunky making it look like it’s been crocheted and I don’t like the way it appears different shades in different sections. I also don’t like see through bits on wedding dress bodices below the bust, it cheapens it. The veil is pretty though. It is interesting that neither bride wore the tiara, and CS wasn’t in attendance. Quite sad really.

The lace gives me the 'run up from grannie's old net curtains' vibe.

Regarding the absence of the Spencer tiara, I would imagine that as the senior Spencer, Charles has the say as to who the tiara is offered. There seems to be some animosity there as he has not attended two of his daughter’s weddings so maybe it follows that he didn’t offer either of them the tiara?

Both of them got married overseas too so maybe the tiara can't be taken out of the country for some reason or another.

But I don't know why Charles didn't attend.

His divorce from their mother was SPECTACULARLY acrimonious, IIRC, and they have always lived with her I think. Kitty had her brother walk her down the aisle at her wedding, didn't she? I mean, that's something of a statement isn't it?

I watched an interesting short interview with Earl Spencer of YouTube where he was talking about the estate and inheritance. He said he has twice yearly business meetings about the estate with Viscount Althorp but that it's his son from his second marriage who really knows the estate and is out and about on it from the crack of dawn. He then mentioned something about his eldest son inheriting "if inheritance laws stay the same" which to me sounded like he wished he could leave the estate to his younger son.

Viscount Althorp is Louis, his son from his first marriage to Victoria Lockwood.

Charles Spencer cannot change the inheritance laws.

Yes Victoria and Charles Spencer seem to have had a terrible marriage. She had an eating disorder and drug issues and he was quite vile to her if the gossip is to be believed.
