Leti and the other lady look like they've wandered in from a Star Trek episode!

I thought similar, or a Marvel movie. Now again, the lady on the left could have just graduated up another belt in karate.

locketrocket · 04/04/2023 13:41

Love the shorter hair on Leti. Straight & curls work so well.

themessygarden · 04/04/2023 14:45

I love that short wavy bob.

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 04/04/2023 15:23

@Maireas do we think we'll rattle thru another thread before the 👑? as we've about 40 posts to go on this one and we need a really good title for the next one...for posterity 😁

32 days and counting ⏱⏰🕰⏲

Maireas · 04/04/2023 15:38

I was wondering the same thing, @pussycatinfluffyslippers ! Hard to tell.
Any thread title suggestions?

I love the straight and curly bobs on Leti. I had the straightest hair, many a time in the 80s when I was getting a perm they'd have to leave the solution on for an extra 30. Since being perimenopausal though I have a definite wave. I think my full corkscrew days are behind me though!
Suggestion for next thread "Raid the Vaults We're Dressing for Posterity"

Maireas · 04/04/2023 15:58

Good suggestion 👍👌

How about "Tiaras at the ready, we're dressing for Posterity" Grin

@chesterelly1 about the hair. Mine too Shock , it was pretty straight, with a kink at shoulder level, until about 5 yrs ago. Now it's almost curly.

Papergirl1968 · 04/04/2023 19:13

Sophie looks nice today.

She does, actually. That's a really nice look.

KillingMeDeftly · 04/04/2023 19:42

She looks ok but the shoes are awful.

Maireas · 04/04/2023 19:50

I always think that a white jacket is a risky item - I'd undoubtedly have spillage. They can look really chic, though.

I love the idea of a white jacket but a) white doesn't suit me at all and b) I eat like a toddler so I would be permanently grubby and covered in lunch.

I'm not sure about the shape of that skirt and jacket together. The jacket would look better with a slim pair of trousers rather than the boxy skirt. And the shoes are pretty awful.

Maireas · 04/04/2023 20:35

Yes, me too, @ChicoryDip ! I agree that the outfit isn't particularly sleek, and I think a couple of tweaks would improve ite.

I have a lovely white blazer hanging in the closet, never to see light of day again after my daughter said it looked like I was wearing a lab coat.

SqueakyDinosaur · 04/04/2023 21:42

I've just been wandering idly through here http://queensjewelvault.blogspot.com/p/brooches.html

and I was wondering <special casual, just-speculating voice> if anyone has bagged the Cullinan III and IV brooch? If not, may I? I just like the idea of casually attaching a couple of ounces of diamonds to one's lapel.

The best I can say about Sophie’s outfit is that I like the deep red colour of her skirt.

I really don't think the length of that blazer works with a skirt. As a pp said, the blazer would be better with slim leg trousers. And I think perhaps a shorter, fitted jacket would work better with the skirt.

I do feel that Sophie’s outfits are often let down by getting one thing wrong.

SqueakyDinosaur · 04/04/2023 22:00

Sophie's jacket would, IMO, look better with either a straight or a fishtail skirt. Or maybe a very long pleated one. It's a bit mumsy, though a nice colour.

paradyning · 04/04/2023 22:07

George is going to be a page boy! Hope he wears the breeches!

paradyning · 04/04/2023 22:08

And stunning illustrations on the official invite. I tipexed out my name

I like Sophie's top half and she does suit pale clear colours.
@paradyning ooh that sounds fab! Do you mind me asking what you got the invitation for? Are you a VIP?!

Do you think there are now nearly 2000 people all staring at the invitation and proclaiming that terrible phrase "But what on earth am am going to wear?!?!"

(The invitation is beautiful.)

Oh this made me laugh as I was reminded of a time I bumped into an old college friend, dressed, or so I thought, in a beauticians's type white coat. 'So', I said gesturing at said coat, 'What have you been up to?' She looked confused and told me she was working in the local bank. I continued as if she wasn't wearing anything unusual!
