Fergie has always been prone to costume-y outfits, but the riding habit look is definitely 'extra'!

I think I've seen this pose with a royal way back in time. Maybe Victoria. The skirt is right, the blazer should be a shorter bodice length jacket.

In a nutshell, @KillingMeDeftly ....

The way I like to put it is Fergie gonna Ferg!

justasking111 · 25/03/2023 12:55

Well it's a promo for her new novel. Her first novel had some good shots too but historically accurate

@KnickerlessParsons The Royal Victorian Order rewards personal service to the Monarch. It was created in 1896, by Queen Victoria, and is a dynastic order, meaning the recipients are chosen personally by the Monarch, rather than being suggested by the Prime Minister.
Angela's rank of Commander is of the middle rank, Dame is the highest rank, reserved mainly for close family.

KnickerlessParsons · 25/03/2023 14:17

Thank you

KillingMeDeftly · 25/03/2023 16:30

Dare I ask, has anyone actually read either of Fergie's novels?

Twazique · 25/03/2023 18:45

Fergies latest novel is about one of her ancestors, Margaret Montagu Douglas Scott. The Montagu Scotts are from Beaulieu (Motor Museum). I had no idea she was related so I'm going to have to look it up!

KillingMeDeftly · 25/03/2023 18:55

Oh yes, Fergie is pretty well-connected and knew Andrew from childhood. I think her father was friends with the queen?

Twazique · 25/03/2023 18:57

Apparently she is descended from Charles II.

No, and no plans to - I imagine they are probably quite (inadvertently) funny, but not my cup of tea.

AdaColeman · 25/03/2023 20:10

Wasn't Ronnie Ferguson the polo manager for Duke of Edinburgh and Charlie? So Sarah would have known them all from childhood. Can't say that I've any interest in reading her books.

paradyning · 25/03/2023 20:11

Didn't she do a successful kids' book about a helicopter?

Yes that's right. I have a vague memory of him being involved in some sort of massage parlour scandal in the 90s?

Yes. The helicopter's name was Budgie

KillingMeDeftly · 26/03/2023 08:43

Just been looking at Fergie's Wiki page and I didn't realise she and Diana were related. Their grandmothers were second cousins. The Duke of Gloucester is also a cousin of hers. So Fergie herself may not have been royalty or even nobility like Diana but she was extremely well-connected.

Another day, another ball in Monaco! Not sure about Charlotte's or even Beatrice's ensembles here. Tatiana looks good. https://www.newmyroyals.com/2023/03/monacos-prince-family-took-part-in-67th.html

Maireas · 26/03/2023 09:56

Ah, to be in Monaco at a ball! I agree with you about the outfits, @KillingMeDeftly - Tatiana's outfit is lovely, but I think Alexandra looks the best, very chic.
Full length silver glitter is hard to pull off and Beatrice's dress is a bit fussy.

That black and gold Dior dress is a particular horror!

Actually, for all of the money that that collection of dresses must have cost I'm not sure I'd give any of them wardrobe space.

Eaumyword · 26/03/2023 10:24

I quite like the silver dress, but the others just seem too ornate and fussy.

KillingMeDeftly · 26/03/2023 10:37

No Charlene either but maybe she was home with the kids.

Maireas · 26/03/2023 10:39

I think Charlene was at an event recently? I'll try to find the pictures.

Tatler is still banging on about Margarita A-J but I'm not sure about this ensemble. She looks like one of those toilet roll dolls!

Maireas · 26/03/2023 11:09

Margarita does not look good in that outfit. She's still young and may be tempted to go down this route - the insta/influencer/model whatever. Her parents have always been fairly low key, even with businesses to promote and have been very private. She and her brother have never been bothered by the press.
