I know these threads are done a lot but I love to see people's absolute favourite, best-of-it's-kind products.

The things where you've tried loads and then find one and it's so good that you declare it the BEST EVER.

Skincare, makeup, hair care, whatever...

I'll go first...

Mascara - Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara. Recent purchase, I bloody love it. Really buildable. Great length and volume and it doesn't make me a panda even with my very oily skin

Foundation - Nars light reflecting foundation. Another recent find for me, great for skin that's started to get fine lines and wrinkles. Feels light on the skin but gives medium coverage.

Lip tint - Benetint. Have used now for probably 25 years since I was a late teen.

Lipsticks - Chantecaille Lip Veil and Laura Mercier Rouge Essential. Both creamy and hydrating but really pigmented and last surprisingly well given they're not tagged as 'long lasting'

Have heard good things about Nars Powermatte for a non-transfer long lasting and have one arriving tomorrow!

Morning skincare - I've just started using REN Flash Hydro Boost and I've never tried anything like it. You massage a little water in after and my skin is so plump and youthful looking afterwards...I don't believe it's doing much in terms of long lasting effects but the daily pay off is worth it alone

Dermatica - prescription strength evening skincare bespoke to your skin concerns. Mine is for ageing, a little acne (still...at 40) and scars from spots/sun spots/general texture and dullness. Have been using for a month and already good progress on texture, radiance, spots and pigmentation. The tretinoin takes a while to make a difference to the existing lines but all of the befores/after a, reviews are amazing

I have more for later but need to go do a tidying whirlwind before the cleaner arrives!

Dove deodorant stick, original, nothing beats it and I was devastated when they halted production. Praying the formula hasn't changed.

Estee lauder double wear, used since I started stealing my mums in the 90s, nothing compares.

Pantene no 5 hair mousse. No other product in the world makes my curly hair look like this does. I don't care if mousse is out of fashion you can remove it from my cold dead hands.

Aldi's caviar range (especially the gold one) I buy a year's supply of this when it's in store.

Ameliorate body lotion. I don't love the smell, it's expensive and it doesn't get rid of the red dots of my kp but used consistently it does make my reptile skin feel soft and human.

Kat von d liquid lipstick in 'mother'. My fave colour ever.

Tarte man eater liquid eyeliner. Perfect application.

Motnight · 16/02/2023 09:17

Mitchum Anti Perspirant Deodorant. First used when during peri menopause I started smelling really awful.

Aveeda anti frizz shampoo and conditioner.

I am sure I will think of others.

Motnight · 16/02/2023 09:18

Oh and Elnett hairspray of course!

PVfor23 · 16/02/2023 09:34

The Ordinary peeling solution (once a week)
Avene soothing face mask (more hydrating that soothing)
Mac Velvet Teddy lipstick
Mac Spice lip liner
Elizabeth Arden 8 hr cream (transformed my lips)
Elvive Wonder Water
Moroccan Oil treatment
The Ordinay nicinaminde serum (very brightening)
Hado Labo HA
Estee Lauder Global cream

KangarooKenny · 16/02/2023 10:03

Liz Earle Superskin moisturiser.
Liz Earle Superskin facial oil.
Mitchum stick deodorant, I buy it in bulk now that it’s not always available.

Mamazita · 16/02/2023 10:06

Dermatica tretinoin
Hourglass powders and blushes
The ordinary red peel

Tshirtsunyan · 16/02/2023 10:07

Superfacialist cleansing oil,
Aldi Dr pawpaw dupe,
bedhead colour goddess shampoo and conditioner.

Sugaspunsista · 16/02/2023 10:11

Fudge luminiser shampoo and conditioner
Elemis cleansing balm
Elemis Pro collagen marine cream
Sunday Riley auto correct eye cream
Maybelline under eye brightener

I'll think of more

melontone · 16/02/2023 10:16

Dermatica tret
Elemis Matrix
Dermologica Anti ageing 50+ spf cream
Valentino lipstick 107a
Kiehls avocado under eye cream for dark circles
and a Charlotte tilbury blusher.

Since starting tret 2 months ago, I've stopped wearing any powder, foundation and make up. I only now use a little bit of lipstick and some blusher. With make up, particularly when applying powder or foundation, I used to always end up having to apply make up more to the eye area like mascara and eyeliner and more darker lip colour as the foundation/powder will wash out my face.

Athrawes · 16/02/2023 10:25

Can anyone recommend an eye cream that will actually make a difference to crepey undereyes?

beguilingeyes · 16/02/2023 10:35

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser
Ren Jelly Oil Cleanser
Salvador Dali Perfume
Clinique Aromatics Elixir
Nuxe Reve De Miel lip balm

LadyOfTheCanyon · 16/02/2023 10:36

In the bathroom cupboard, the things that get repurchased again and again are

Mitchum roll on
Garnier pink lid micellar water
Superdrug radiant glycolic toner
Superfacialist oil cleanser
Ikea washcloths
No7 Vitamin C serum
ColourWow dreamcoat
Kiehls Midnight recovery concentrate
Dreamlengths shampoo and conditioner
Aesop Ressurection hand wash
Radox in red or blue flavours
Colgate Max Optic toothpaste
Colgate charcoal toothbrushes
Venus razor blades
Ortigia shower gel/ bath foam in Neroli
L'Oréal elvive blow dry mist ( I stockpile this because it's not always available)

In my make up bag:

Hypnose mascara
L'Oréal True Match foundation
Nars Sheer glow foundation
Rimmel eyebrow pencil
Maybelline Matte Maker powder
Hourglass Radiant light
Benefit Hoola
Dans tes bras perfume
Rehab perfume.

Everything else is on a rotation of trying it out to see if I like it enough to work it into my routine - that's usually things like lipsticks/ blushers/concealers as I'm not loyal to one particular brand.

FatSealSmugSoup · 16/02/2023 10:42

@Wheredothesocksgo ”mother” was my first foray into a brighter shade in decades and it’s amazing. If that suits you - keep your eyes open for (discontinued) Bauhau5 - I swear it was made for me alone! 😉

Dudu Osun soap. Never felt so clean.

SlouchingTowardsBethlehemAgain · 16/02/2023 10:54

Erborian CC Dull Correct used as foundation. It really makes me look 20 years younger and as if I am not wearing makeup (I am 70).

LifeunderMarrs · 16/02/2023 10:57

Bumping!

JeanMarie · 16/02/2023 10:59

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. I've been using it for nearly 20 years, never found anything better . Also their newish under eye gel, Supercharged Gel/Creme. My skin has got a bit drier and these products really make me look a bit more refreshed.
Estee Lauder doublewear foundation, nothing else comes close.
Clinique Dramatically Different moisturizer. I'm a recent convert. It's especially good under foundation. Also Clinique Lash Impact mascara. I love the slim application wand. I hate it when a mascara has a large wand like a bog brush. I always manage to make a smudged mess trying to use them.
Milk Shake hair products . The leave in conditioner and milk shake Incredible Milk. I've fine hair but lots of it. These products make blow drying a dream.
Parlux hair dryer....I've had mine for 15 years and still going strong. I can go from just out of shower to hair dryed and styled in about 5 minutes.
Palmers Cocoa Butter body lotion. I've tried loads of more expensive one but always come back to this.

I love the Sunday Riley auto correct

AlwaysFoldingWashing · 16/02/2023 11:14

8 hour cream- 100 uses and saves a lot of space in my bag

Loreal or Nars mascara

Nars foundations

Nars blush

Bobbie brown lip gloss

JeanMarie · 16/02/2023 11:20

Aaaaargh! I should stop reading all these now. I'm already making a wish list. 😁

rc22 · 16/02/2023 11:53

Dermalogica pre cleanse
Nivea Soft

FizzyStream · 16/02/2023 11:53

Skin weightless powder foundation by Bobbi Brown. I keep going back to it. Just love how it's not cakey but has great coverage.

Niftythrifter · 16/02/2023 12:41

Aussie spray in conditioner ( Moisture Recharge I think they call it)

Benefit Rollerlash

Clinique DDML

LifeunderMarrs · 16/02/2023 12:45

Ten years ago I stayed at a friends and used her Aveda shampoo and my hair looked so much better than with high street brands, so I've used it ever since. My best ever products are now:

Aveda Botanical Repair Strengthening Shampoo
Aveda Shampure Conditioner
Boots No7 Early Defence serum
Simple Micellar Cleanser (much better than Bioderma IMO)
Sure Maximum Strength Antiperspirant (especially good for summer meetings in London!)

MavisMcMinty · 16/02/2023 13:02

I love Rollerlash mascara! I like all of Benefit’s mascaras but Rollerlash is my favourite.

I try loads of different brands as a beauty box addict, but the only brand I purposely buy is Elemis, I’m always relieved to go back to it after my brief skincare affairs. Elemis toners are my favourites, although I also like Liz Earle’s “tonic”.

MintyGreenDreams · 16/02/2023 13:18

Armani luminous silk foundation
Urban decay waterproof setting powder
Benefit Primer
