Your absolute hero products...

I know these threads are done a lot but I love to see people's absolute favourite, best-of-it's-kind products.

The things where you've tried loads and then find one and it's so good that you declare it the BEST EVER.

Skincare, makeup, hair care, whatever...

I'll go first...

Mascara - Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara. Recent purchase, I bloody love it. Really buildable. Great length and volume and it doesn't make me a panda even with my very oily skin

Foundation - Nars light reflecting foundation. Another recent find for me, great for skin that's started to get fine lines and wrinkles. Feels light on the skin but gives medium coverage.

Lip tint - Benetint. Have used now for probably 25 years since I was a late teen.

Lipsticks - Chantecaille Lip Veil and Laura Mercier Rouge Essential. Both creamy and hydrating but really pigmented and last surprisingly well given they're not tagged as 'long lasting'

Have heard good things about Nars Powermatte for a non-transfer long lasting and have one arriving tomorrow!

Morning skincare - I've just started using REN Flash Hydro Boost and I've never tried anything like it. You massage a little water in after and my skin is so plump and youthful looking afterwards...I don't believe it's doing much in terms of long lasting effects but the daily pay off is worth it alone

Dermatica - prescription strength evening skincare bespoke to your skin concerns. Mine is for ageing, a little acne (still...at 40) and scars from spots/sun spots/general texture and dullness. Have been using for a month and already good progress on texture, radiance, spots and pigmentation. The tretinoin takes a while to make a difference to the existing lines but all of the befores/after a, reviews are amazing

I have more for later but need to go do a tidying whirlwind before the cleaner arrives!

Superfacialist cleansing oil - great stuff, very affordable
Medik8 Super C Ferulic - switched to this from Skinceuticals, just as effective for me and much cheaper (tho not necessarily cheap)
Medik8 Retinal 3 - I love this stuff.
erborian Skin Hero - great as a primer, but also great as everyday just-that-bit-better skin, when I don't feel like foundation or even bb cream but still need a bit of polish.

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 16/02/2023 17:36

Anything dermalogica and Aveda.
Baby oil as make up remover

SilverGlitterBaubles · 16/02/2023 17:40

Clinique Moisture Surge, hydrating but lightweight
Clarins hand and nail cream

IconicKitty · 16/02/2023 17:45

I change products quite a lot but you can't beat Vaseline (for the lips). Plus so much cheaper than other alternatives.

TrinnySmith · 16/02/2023 17:50

I’ve just bought Lumify by Bausch and Lomb -eye drops to clear redness from your eyes and they work!!👍

BentleyRhythmAce · 16/02/2023 18:13

Another Double Wear fan. I will use it for as long as they continue to make it. I used to use DW Light, but they ruined the formula and now I'm a bit addicted to the fuller coverage of the normal stuff.

BentleyRhythmAce · 16/02/2023 18:14

Oh and Bobbi Brown lip tint - it's like a balm but has a bit of colour to it. Expensive but worth it.

So1invictus · 16/02/2023 18:18

Tret
Clinique Quickliner for eyes
Astral
N7 Hydraluminous

These are all repurchases a dozen times and more.

Cocoandcleo · 16/02/2023 18:37

My faves are:

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish
La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo
Collection Waterproof Mascara
And Other Stories Scrub and Body moisturiser
Palmers Cocoa butter

LadyOfTheCanyon · 16/02/2023 19:32

@Cocoandcleo

That's just reminded me how much I like some of And Other Stories bath stuff. Sardonyx Fire is lovely.

Cocoandcleo · 16/02/2023 19:33

@LadyOfTheCanyon oooh I've not tried that one, my fave is Coco de Perle

sixfoot · 16/02/2023 19:39

Cicoplast
hado labo HA
eight hour cream
nivea 48hr hydration body moisturiser

Appalonia · 16/02/2023 19:39

Origins Vitazing moisturiser. Is spendy but gives me a lovely glow. Been repurchasing it for 5 years now, after a recommendation on here!

Benefit Rollerlash and Clinique Lashpower. Both excellent mascaras. Korean sheet masks.

Appalonia · 16/02/2023 19:46

Also if you have sensitive/mature skin, Eucerin Urea Repair is a very good moisturiser.

Tretinoin from a Spanish pharmacy. Factor 50 from one of the Korean brands or LRP.

Trinny BFF de-stress.

TrinnySmith · 16/02/2023 17:50

Where did you buy it, Trinny?

Usernamen · 16/02/2023 19:56

Yes to Benefit Rollerlash!

Best mascara ever.

TheChosenTwo · 16/02/2023 19:58

Charlotte mensah manketti hair oil. My hair drinks this up when it’s overdue a cut, it’s like magic.
Dermatica. I buy very little in the way of skincare these days, I just don’t really need much else.
dermalogica precleanse oil. (I think that’s what it’s called!) I absolutely love it, a cleanser isn’t ever really worth the money imo but I just love this one, it feels really luxurious and smells so nice.

EarringsandLipstick · 16/02/2023 20:03

Clarins Double Serum - pricey but worth it.

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. Worn for years. Skin geeks great, make up goes on so much better.

Nezzy1981 · 16/02/2023 20:32

Skincare repurchases

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm.
Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic for a splurge! or Garnier Rose Skin Toner on a budget!
L'Oréal Age Perfect Anti-Sagging Eye Cream.
Clinique Moisture Surge Moisturiser.
Erborian Skin Hero, really gives a beautiful smooth glow to my skin but is also excellent as a primer!
Murad Essential C SPF 30 Moisturiser, spendy but gives the perfect amount of moisture and glow.
Vaseline Lip Therapy Cocoa, repurchased many times!

Make-up repurchases.

YSL Touché Eclat Primer, spendy but blurs and adds radiance, and all my foundations last all day.
Erborian Super BB Cream, can be built to full coverage and gives a subtle glow.
NYX Bare With Me Serum Concealer, a new find that I've found to be the best I've ever used especially for my under eyes, will last ages as only need half a pump will definitely repurchase.
Clinique Cheek Pop Blush.
Viseart Eyeshadow Palettes, I have many brands and can always rely on these to blend nicely and not fade.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara, tried many including high end and always come back to this, curls my long straight lashes and doesn't flake or smudge.
Rimmel Lipstick in good old Coffee Shimmer! goes with most of my make up looks, moisturising and fades nicely.

Haircare repurchases

Aveda Brilliant Shampoo.
Aveda Cherry Almond Shampoo and Conditioner.
It's a 10 Miracle Treatment Spray.

mamaison · 16/02/2023 20:51

Shu Uemura hard eyebrow pencil in Seal Brown is holy grail for me. Only product I have never ever changed.

MAC extended play mascara (not the biggest lashes but stays put 100%)
MAC snob lipstick
MAC face and body foundation

Skin+Me

would love to know people’s best eyeliners

Youpillock · 16/02/2023 21:29

Medik8 crystal retinol.

Obagi Nu derm regime.

Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter.

HerbalTeaAndCake · 16/02/2023 22:05

Wheredothesocksgo · 16/02/2023 09:11

Dove deodorant stick, original, nothing beats it and I was devastated when they halted production. Praying the formula hasn't changed.

Estee lauder double wear, used since I started stealing my mums in the 90s, nothing compares.

Pantene no 5 hair mousse. No other product in the world makes my curly hair look like this does. I don't care if mousse is out of fashion you can remove it from my cold dead hands.

Aldi's caviar range (especially the gold one) I buy a year's supply of this when it's in store.

Ameliorate body lotion. I don't love the smell, it's expensive and it doesn't get rid of the red dots of my kp but used consistently it does make my reptile skin feel soft and human.

Kat von d liquid lipstick in 'mother'. My fave colour ever.

Tarte man eater liquid eyeliner. Perfect application.

Do you apply the caviar to your face or hair or somewhere else???

CouldIHaveThatInEnglishPlease · 16/02/2023 22:29

my must haves:

Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser
No 7 protect and perfect serum
nivea lip balm cherry shine
Laura mercier tinted moisturiser

other products I am happy to try alternatives of, but those I will not deviate from. And for deodorants I picked up Secret stick deodorant whilst in USA last year and it’s amazing and lasts for ever, so when I eventually run out I will probably import that from Amazon along with crest teeth whitening strips
