I have often tried to imagine that breakfast. Younger readers may forget or not understand that in a pre internet age it's likely that the first any of the guests at Balmoral heard about it was when they opened the newspapers. There must have been a lot of spat coffee on the tablecloth and said newspapers!

It occurs to me there must be footmen/household staff who actually were present witnesses, probably still alive today. It says something for their loyalty and discretion and the strength of the NDAs that as far as I'm aware none have recounted the scene.

I wonder when the Crown Prince's wedding is? I'm sure we'll see a bigger fathering for royals at that. Both weddings are bound to have spectacular bling though - the Middle Eastern royals don't hold back!

Poor Stephanie of Lux is fit to pop! I feel she should be allowed to rest now (as far as late pregnancy allows 😬) rather than have to keep going with engagements.

I agree about her MiL's jacket - awful. But I'm generally not a fan of animal print.
