As for the brooch?

I confess I may have had my head turned.

I don’t suppose they ‘go’ (I lack style and eye) but it is diamonds innit?

They all sparkle in the sunshine. 🥰

Maireas · 04/03/2023 14:41

They all go! Just follow the example of the wonderful late Queen Mary...

Is the Queen Josefina of Norway's tiara available? It's lovely but quite understated for walking around Dunnes doing the shopping.

Maireas · 04/03/2023 14:56

@Chulainn - Queen Josefina of Norway's tiara ✔️

TangledWebOfDeception · 04/03/2023 14:56

Oh my that's a glorious brooch! The tiara is a beauty too, of course.

Have you a spreadsheet maireas? 😆

Maireas · 04/03/2023 15:04

Yes, I have - it's called The Spreadsheet of Splendour!
You're entered as Sheldon....

OP posts:
Maireas · 04/03/2023 15:05

Have you got a name for the brooch, Sheldon?
I've entered it as "wowser brooch"

I’ll not lie tangled. I am smitten.

I had an eye on the chips but they’ll be long bagsied.

I went delving. I’m glad I did. 🥰

The ‘blurb’ for the Russian Agraffe.

An agraffe is a brooch-like clasp that was popular in the 17th century. Elizaveta Petrovna wore this huge diamond bow-shaped clasp on her ermine robe. Its size alone is impressive: The brooch is 25 cm long and 11 cm wide. The agraffe is decorated with 805 diamonds of various shapes and cuts. This piece of jewelry was worn by almost all descendants of the empress.

TangledWebOfDeception · 04/03/2023 15:16

And yours, @Chulainn!

@Maireas as you've got the vault open, could you pop a little ticket on Daisy's Crown Jewels Tiara/Parure pictured here (I cannot for the life of me remember the official name of the tiara, if it has one, but it's beautiful and delicate and I've been meaning to make it mine for ages now...), plus the necklace and earrings worn on the two photos. Might as well have the two brooches too! Grin Thank you!! Flowers

Thank you, Sheldon, I just love learning all this jewel history!

Ugh awful quality on the photos! Especially of the parure. Sorry! I've got one of the brooch, let me find it.

@01189998819991197253Sheldon fabulous find! I should've liked to have nabbed it for my Coronation outfit/jewellery - Would have gone well with my Imperial Russian theme...

I would be quite happy having woven Lily of the Valley in my hair and the brooch but the Coronation needs head bling.

As such, pretty please, I may need a back up tiara if hair loss kicks in - pomp stress? It may even detract from any of my residual baldy bits.

That delicate wee tiara is astoundingly beautiful tangled.

I’ve got tiara envy.

What do you have maireas?

Elizaveta’s sapphires have been snagged by my mam. Who will likely not move from her armchair all day but will be resplendent in her comfiness.

She will air the tiara I cannot wear also.

Ah just finally found some info on the 'tiara' - which it actually isn't, that's probably why I've struggled to find the name.

It's an aigrette, apparently.

More photos and information here.

Interestingly it's not actually part of the Crown Jewels as I had thought! Don't know I got confused about that...And hasn't got a particularly long history in the Danish Royal household.

01189998819991197253Sheldon · 04/03/2023 15:51

Still covet it whatever it is called 😍

Serenster · 04/03/2023 15:53

@TangledWebOfDeception Daisy wore almost all of that parure to Fed and EBG’s wedding - and stunning she looked too!
