So few online at the moment but it’s my favourite season.
Post links to lovely summery frocks when you see them?

Yes, me! I love summer and summer clothes. Not started looking yet though.

CrkdLttrCrkdLttr · 08/02/2023 13:35

Absolutely, definitely not!

Every Spring a madness takes me and I hare after some fabulous, flouncy, look-at-me frock - generally bankrupting self in process. It arrives and is perfection on the hanger. Only needs a little alteration … Throw money at alteration person. Retrieve garment. Try on. Hide thing. Pretend it doesn’t exist. Panic around the end of October at all the money wasted. Force self to put on awful mistake, under or over lovely shetland jumper and bulkiest coat. Leave house. Spend a torturous day in ridiculous garment. Come home; pack thing away for ever Winter. Don glorious Winter wardrobe. Look forward to another Spring …

Yes. Love summer skirts and dresses. I'm over all the viscose ditsy print stuff though.

Fossilspartnersphone · 08/02/2023 18:08

Yes! Will log on as myself when phone is fixed for spring clothes.

Looking forward to wearing my summer dresses. I might sound really boring but I have the same design summer dress from the same shop in 7 different colours - black, blue, stripey orange, black & white pattern, brown, light green, lilac. They come out with a different colour each year along with black and at the end of the summer I buy one in the sale. The design changed slightly once so some are old style and sme new style, but basically that is my summer dress and it fits and suits me better than any others I have found.

bendmeoverbackwards · 08/02/2023 19:30

Where are they from @Netcam ?

ArianahX · 08/02/2023 19:42

I ordered this dress from Accessorize for £55. Waiting for it to arrive.

Also ordered a cream embroidered mimi shirt dress £19 in the sale from River Island.

Netcam please where are these from?

Puppylucky · 08/02/2023 19:47

I think Netcam's dresses may be from Next They do really nice cotton sundresses every year in a simple shift shape and lots of different patterns and colours. But ready to be corrected!

Netcam · 08/02/2023 20:48

This is the dress:

That isn't my favourite of all the colours over the years, but it is a fantastic, well-fitting, versatile dress. I imagine they will bring a new one out in their summer collection, I'm betting on lilac looking at their other offerings this spring.

Mysmallgarden · 08/02/2023 20:53

Winter clothes suit me (cover me up) better than summer clothes. I'm looking forward to spring all right, but for the lighter nights and better weather.

Darklane · 08/02/2023 20:54

No. I hate flimsy summer clothes, especially dresses & love autumn when I can start to wear all my lovely warm woollens again.

UWhatNow · 08/02/2023 20:54

Me too @CrkdLttrCrkdLttr

I probably won’t spend this year though as I’m sick of puffy sleeves. They do nothing for matronly tits.

I’d like a 90s style ditsy button-through summer dress with cap sleeves. Preferably empire line and flowy. Unfortunately I’ve not seen any that I like (or will fit!)

But it's...wool? A wool summer dress? I like the simplicity though. I don't like pouty frilly dresses, so I have a similar uniform of Uniqlo tshirt dresses. They suit me and wash well.

Lentilweaver · 08/02/2023 21:08

Poufy. Not pouty.

Mummyof287 · 08/02/2023 21:08

Not really, I like covering up and being able to have 'yeti legs' 🤭 I am looking forward to when it is warm enough to be going out without a coat on though!

Right to a simple shift shape, just a different shop. I have a petite frame, 5'3, size 10-12, 34D, most summer dresses look ridiculous on me, especially big flouncy ones. I need something that is quite fitted, but not so much so that it shows all my bumps.

Got my eye on this one

Yes, it's part wool, means I can wear it for 2 or 3 days without needing to wash it and it doesn't get really sweaty when it is hot. It is very thin fabric, thinner than cotton, very cool to wear. I have worn them on holiday abroad when it's been 40 degrees and I honestly found them more comfortable than cotton and they dry really quickly. People are surprised when I say I wear wool in the summer, but I also have thin wool t-shirts and tank tops that I wear all summer and find them so much cooler and more comfortable than cotton.

BHRK · 09/02/2023 06:38

That’s lovely @MissyB1

I wear a dress to work every day, I love dresses.

LunaTheCat · 09/02/2023 07:53

Netcam I have a different merino icebreaker dress - I wear in winter as in Southern Hemisphere.
Have you looked at “ Wool&”.. us company who do brilliant merino dresses… they are famous for the 100 Day Dress Challenge… I have the the Brooklyn and I love!

AuntieMarys · 09/02/2023 08:01

I look ridiculous in dresses. I'm 6 feet tall, size 14 and I look like I'm wearing dressing up clothes.

HiddenGiraffes · 09/02/2023 08:16

Does anyone know when the typically come into shops? I've been looking for outfits for spring and summer weddings and feel daft for not realising why I was struggling.
