So few online at the moment but it’s my favourite season.
Post links to lovely summery frocks when you see them?

These are 3 I’ve had from Dorothy perkins in the past (I’m on a budget and plus size so it’s tricky)
Tie shoulder one, leopard has buttons down the front and maxi. Really comfy stretchy jersey type fabric
I bought the maxi in 3 patterns!

Here for the links. I cog in love with a me+en one the other day. Wish they were cheaper

I really like this dress but I don't usually go for maxi dresses so worried I will just end up buying it and admiring it in my wardrobe! I'm no spring chicken now and struggling to find my style these days!

It's out of stock at the moment but they seem to get stock in quite regularly so keep getting tempted.

Not me 😰 Fat, menopausal and late 50s = nightmare for me! I embrace autumn and winter, when I can cover up in jeans, jumpers and boots ☺️

Tentatively yes. If the floral tiered peter pan-collared polyester monstrosity dies a quick death first

I like that dress @Netcam and it suits my simple aesthetic. Like @Lentilweaver I'm looking for something simple in either cotton, linen or silk. Or merino wool, it seems! Open to stripes or big bold pattern, just not pastels and small prints or ditsy florals. I do love a god shirt dress too, but they've been hard to find.

Nice to see others out there who are not into flouncy polyester floral! These are all the other colours I have of that brown dress, it's called a Yanni tank dress, made by Icebreaker, which pretty much sums up my summer dress collection. @Motorina how were the merino dresses you bought?

Another person who despises spring and summer dressing. I find it so depressing and I feel awful about myself for months until autumn comes around again.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 23/02/2023 21:42

I'm champing at the bit for summer dressing. Soooo bored of winter clothes now. I've ordered a couple.

The first red one is a company which may or may not be some kind of scam so I'm taking one for the team and will let you know if they're real!

We've both got big birthdays this year and have booked a rather swish holiday to celebrate and it will require new frocks 😊 I've started with this green and white one from Monsoon. I'm still undecided about the scarf print one.

loving Seeing all the links. I’m definitely a person with lots of summer wear, it’s my favourite season and love all the dresses. It helps that I’ve lost weight after having kids and have finally settled at a weight I’m happy with. I also like the accessories… lovely flat sandals and raffia bags

I don't understand this view. You can find summer clothes that flatter you.

I doubt that you look any fatter in summer clothes than in jeans and jumpers.

I'm fed up with wearing jeans and jumpers now. I want to wear lighter clothes and go barefoot but it is too cold.

@Icequeen01 where is that dress from please? I think it’s lovely

Oh please wear it, it's lovely! And looks like the sort of dress which would suit a wide range of body types. Too nice for the back of the wardrobe!

I've bought this for a summer wedding although worry the buttons make it a little too formal for a wedding? But love the sleeves and the shape

In theory, yes, but I loathe and despise florals (on me). I like very plain clothes in block colours and natural fabrics (in winter I live in boots, wide-legged wool trousers or tube skirts, and Cos or Oska jumpers, and jumper dresses) - and the kind of look I like can be harder to pull off when the shops are full of pretty prints and ditsy florals.

It's from here

www.goose-island.co.uk/products/pippa-paisley-dress-royal-blue

They do have it in other colours too but I think the blue is really lovely.

Icequeen01 · 24/02/2023 07:03

@GailTheSnail thank you, I think I will order one when it's back in stock. My only fear is it might be a little long on me but nothing ventured ..... 😀
