Scent memories ...
First scents I bought myself were Blasé and Charlie as a schoolgirl around 1979. Jackie Magazine and A levels...
I'm mystified how I did this, but then as a student and in my first job I wore Chanel no.5, Cristalle, 19 and Coco ... I did live in a cheap hostel near work so had no commuting and bills were included, but still - I can't justify it now! Still love no.5.
I also wore a Laura Ashley scent in the 80s which I loved, but can't remember its name. Think it may be discontinued but it was soft, powdery and subtle.
I also went through the 80s Opium phase (21st birthday prezzie).
Then working at an airport and flying for work came the duty free years - I adored those little sets of perfume miniatures - charming tiny replicas of Estée Lauder etc, where I found Beautiful and White Linen Breeze ... (a boyfriend from long ago, who died recently, loved that one ...)
Next delivered quite a few affordable, especially liked Define, which I haven't seen for a long time.
And most recently the White Company's Seychelles - a dry, fresh, beachy summer scent.
There are SO many out there now and I'm looking for my signature scent. Guess I always will be.
