The Friendly Perfumistas Thread 35 - ❄️ ☃️ Winter may be here, but our scents will keep us warm!

Oops! Looks like we ran out of space on the last thread - I hope you all find your way over here.
Anyway, welcome fragrant friends to a shiny new thread!
As always, everyone is very welcome - we're most definitely open to Newbies. Come and discuss your Scent Of The Day (SOTD), old favourites, new infatuations, the best dupes and scents of any price point. We are very friendly! 😊

La Fille de Berlin is Sotd.
My current Savon de Marseille is 🌹 & hence I'm carrying on the theme. Plus I'm trying to use up the last few mls in the bottle.
To the newbies 👋
I'm entirely unsure who anyone is these days. Apart from a couple of longstanding posters.
Anyone else undergoing a big eBay sell off? I've realised that I really don't need or want so many perfumes. I don't think I have the headspace to choose from so many anymore 🤔 I have ~ 43 bottles & I'm trying to cut down to 30 hopefully. But then that's not including spare bottles of my favourites ❣️
I think that so many perfumes are being reformulated, that unfortunately it's not always possible to buy exactly the same perfume again. I also think my perfume obsession is over. I still want to smell good but not obsess over it....

@Cantonet I felt the same and retired from these threads just as covid hit, really. i just didnt have the headspace to faff around with thinking obsessing about what perfume i was going to wear every day. I really lost my mojo!
However, it seems to be coming back, slowly. I had a sniffng session the other day and rediscovered some random old loves (Nuit de Bakelite, anyone??) But yes, I probably should purge my collection a bit, at least get rid of some of the hundreds of samples. I don't need a single new perfume in my life, ever, but somehow...they keep coming.

SOTD was originally Clinique Beyond Rose - one of my faves as it's a spicy, sour rose that manages to be both invigorating and comforting at the same time.
However, I got home just now to a little package of samples including Byredo La Tulipe, which seemed appropriate for a sunny springlike day. Very much enjoying the freesia-heavy topnotes in this.

If you need a little bit of enabling, The Scent Sampler currently has 50% off samples online. You do need to spend £50 to get that discount, which does feel a bit spendy I know, but they are decent 5ml samples. I got 6 x 5ml samples (Tom Fords and Byredo) for £25 with the discount, and they will last!

La Tulipe is beautiful @TTakeYourHatOffBoy. I have a large decant tucked away somewhere.
I'm really not sure I want my perfume obsession back. I am trying to spend a lot less & I feel that conspicuous consumption is going out of fashion. Plus I've just turned 59. I can't carry on spending loads of money. I'm going to try & cut down to ~20 bottles. That will be maximalist enough for me 👍
Maybe I'm just becoming sensibly aged.

Hello!!
I am new here.
My SOTD is Eau future by Eau jeanne. I am trying to finish it as it has been with me for more than 25 years.
Hello 👋
Welcome
Sotd will be something comforting...feeling rather low
atm

Has anyone tried Byredo - de los Santos?
I tried a sample last year and was surprised by it, now I'm in a full blown love/hate relationship.
First spray - minty, weird.
Drydown - I am obsessed. I don't know what it smells like, I couldn't tell you one note (usually I'm quite good at such things) except maybe some musk.
Anyway, that's my SOTD!
