Oops! Looks like we ran out of space on the last thread - I hope you all find your way over here.

Anyway, welcome fragrant friends to a shiny new thread!

As always, everyone is very welcome - we're most definitely open to Newbies. Come and discuss your Scent Of The Day (SOTD), old favourites, new infatuations, the best dupes and scents of any price point. We are very friendly! 😊

SOTD is Evening Edged in Gold by Ineke. This is a very soft plum/suede, subtle and pretty. Maybe a smidgen on the sweet side, bordering on Parma Violets, but a lovely composition nevertheless.

@Alienbigcat45 im a big fan of vanilla fragrances and a big fan of SL too - both together is something approaching perfection! I have a tiny sample of UBV that I eke out carefully now and again, would love to be able to spray with abandon though 😁

SOTD Karen Timson Rosa de Rio. I really like this one - it's rose but lightened with citrus so it's quite fresh. Would make a great spring scent.

La Fille de Berlin is Sotd.
My current Savon de Marseille is 🌹 & hence I'm carrying on the theme. Plus I'm trying to use up the last few mls in the bottle.
To the newbies 👋
I'm entirely unsure who anyone is these days. Apart from a couple of longstanding posters.
Anyone else undergoing a big eBay sell off? I've realised that I really don't need or want so many perfumes. I don't think I have the headspace to choose from so many anymore 🤔 I have ~ 43 bottles & I'm trying to cut down to 30 hopefully. But then that's not including spare bottles of my favourites ❣️
I think that so many perfumes are being reformulated, that unfortunately it's not always possible to buy exactly the same perfume again. I also think my perfume obsession is over. I still want to smell good but not obsess over it....

I certainly won't need anymore perfume for a loooong time 😊 @Cantonet
I will have finished an fb of ck obsession by the end of winter
I tend to buy the smallest bottles I can find now - the 4160tuesdays 15mls are great for me

@TakeYourHatOffBoy it's just a 2ml sample, lovely though.

@Cantonet I felt the same and retired from these threads just as covid hit, really. i just didnt have the headspace to faff around with thinking obsessing about what perfume i was going to wear every day. I really lost my mojo!

However, it seems to be coming back, slowly. I had a sniffng session the other day and rediscovered some random old loves (Nuit de Bakelite, anyone??) But yes, I probably should purge my collection a bit, at least get rid of some of the hundreds of samples. I don't need a single new perfume in my life, ever, but somehow...they keep coming.

SOTD is Chanel Coco (the vintage). I love it as it reminds me of my teens.

SOTD was originally Clinique Beyond Rose - one of my faves as it's a spicy, sour rose that manages to be both invigorating and comforting at the same time.

However, I got home just now to a little package of samples including Byredo La Tulipe, which seemed appropriate for a sunny springlike day. Very much enjoying the freesia-heavy topnotes in this.

If you need a little bit of enabling, The Scent Sampler currently has 50% off samples online. You do need to spend £50 to get that discount, which does feel a bit spendy I know, but they are decent 5ml samples. I got 6 x 5ml samples (Tom Fords and Byredo) for £25 with the discount, and they will last!

SOTD is also Chanel Coco. Usually find it lovely but too heavy but woke up in the mood for something different.

La Tulipe is beautiful @TTakeYourHatOffBoy. I have a large decant tucked away somewhere.
I'm really not sure I want my perfume obsession back. I am trying to spend a lot less & I feel that conspicuous consumption is going out of fashion. Plus I've just turned 59. I can't carry on spending loads of money. I'm going to try & cut down to ~20 bottles. That will be maximalist enough for me 👍
Maybe I'm just becoming sensibly aged.

SotD Platinum 22 (Floris).

Does anyone have The Perfume Society's Seasonal Subscription? If so, is it worth it?

Thanks for the tip about The Scent Sampler, @TakeYourHatOffBoy. Going to buy some glass vials to decant from the plastic, but have just got 7 x 5mls for £25 delivered, which seems a good deal.

Has anyone tried Byredo - de los Santos?
I tried a sample last year and was surprised by it, now I'm in a full blown love/hate relationship.

First spray - minty, weird.
Drydown - I am obsessed. I don't know what it smells like, I couldn't tell you one note (usually I'm quite good at such things) except maybe some musk.

Anyway, that's my SOTD!

Marina Barcenilla's The Perfume Garden today. Rose, Sandalwood & gorgeous flowers. I've sold 4 more perfumes and I'm now down to 40 👏
Strangely, I'm feeling figuratively lighter.
I now need to list my spring/summer selection.
