Oops! Looks like we ran out of space on the last thread - I hope you all find your way over here.

Anyway, welcome fragrant friends to a shiny new thread!

As always, everyone is very welcome - we're most definitely open to Newbies. Come and discuss your Scent Of The Day (SOTD), old favourites, new infatuations, the best dupes and scents of any price point. We are very friendly! 😊

Hello, Lovely Perfumistas. Have been MIA for about 10 threads having fallen down the special needs parenting rabbit hole (which I have to say isn't quite as fragrant...).

Hope everyone is doing OK? Will try and keep popping back in so I can slowly figure out who everyone is. Best wishes to all.

Hello 👋
Welcome back x

Hello perfumistas. I've been inspired to join these threads again after the Maggie Smith scone thread. I was here a couple of years ago but had to stop buying perfume at the rate I was doing previously! Anyway it will be nice to have some perfume chat again after so long.

SOTD is L'heure bleue.

Snap! 😂

Someone really should give a plug for the Lovely Perfumistas on that thread. The OP would fit right in.😀

Welcome back to the threads @alltheevennumbers & @TakeYourHatOffBoy 👋😊

I love L'heure Bleue. Seeing mention of it has reminded me to purchase another large sample.

White Satin was gorgeous @Chevyimpala67 All powdery and soapy; musky and soft. I think it's been discontinued though.

SOTN is Shalimar, for comfort, as I'm stopping my trial migraine medicine (it was only marginally helpful) and I'm getting withdrawal symptoms. ❄️

SotD is Le Nereides Rue Paradis. I think about @Judystilldreamsofhorses with this one on two counts. I imagine she may have have stumbled across the quirky enamel Les Nereides jewellery at TK Maxx, and the dry down reminds me slightly of Kiehls Musk.

This is not my usual bag. It opens with yellow florals (creamy but also with a vegetal kick), a touch of anise and something green borderline fruity that isn't listed. Softly interesting and chic. The heart keeps the green/fruity thing going, plus although heliotrope isn't listed, it does at this point smell faintly nutty, a bit like a more gentle Aubade at points. This this would be an awesome bedtime scent. The dry-down is a very softly spoken powdery-musky sandalwood. This is meant to be all about the mimosa note. I realise I have no idea what mimosa smells like. The bottle is pretty and matches the smell.

Hooray for the new thread!

I turned 50 at the end of Jan so have decided that I'm going to fully embrace vintage and powdery or 'old lady' perfumes. They've been creeping into my collection over the past few years :)

I have been wearing Youth Dew and L'Heure Bleue a lot recently as they seem to suit the weather. I was also given a bottle of Cinnabar for my birthday and that has warmed me too.

I read what you said about the season change @FestivelyScent away from the spices and ambers (sigh). I actually like spring for some of my favourite Jo Malone fragrances: Wild Fig & Cassis was my signature scent for decades and that is great in spring, along with Blackberry & Bay, Mimosa & Cardamom and Wild Jasmine & Mint. They're fresh but with depth.

SOTD is Scarlet Poppy Intense. I sometimes find it a little sweet but it's matching my mood today.

Happy Sunday, perfumistas!

SOTD is Papillon's Anubis. I love this hous e (although haven't tried any of the newest scents tbh). Anubis is a bit of an amber / spice monster with fabulous staying power, not for the fainthearted!

Have also done a little bit of sample-buying, inc. Marly Delina which ive had my eye on for yonks, but a FB is waaaaay out of range, so I'm half-hoping I don't actually like it!

SOTD Chanel Chance. Pleasant enough but I wouldn't buy a bottle.

Have had a little spritz of Diptyque Orpheon. Didn't much like this when I first got it (just a sample) but it's actually lovely and just right for a lazy Sunday evening. Warm, woody, powdery.

I'm trying to work out who is who from old perfumista threads. I know who @Chevyimpala67 is but not sure about anyone else yet; maybe your perfume choices will give me a clue as we go along!

Will have a look for current White Satin @Chevyimpala67 I wonder if the formula has changed.

You've mentioned three of my favourites @ThreeImaginaryBoys 😊Cinnabar and Youth-Dew were among the perfumes that spurred my initial interest in fragrance, and L'heure Bleue is a new love for me from last autumn. I still crave that old fashioned oriental style, and wish modern houses, both niche and mainstream, would pay it more attention.

I love spring as a season, and perfumewise for the greener chypres, but find it so incredibly difficult to release my grip on Ambers and Orientals. They are the scents that feel most naturally 'me'.

I want to explore powdery and musky scents further this year - I need to broaden my horizons! 😂 I know that I love powder, but musk and I have a chequered history.

SOTE is Opium, for watching Vera. 📺❄️

Looking for some inspiration!

My favourite perfume is Herve leger (by Herve Leger) but it was discontinued a few years ago.

Whenever I've Googled for dupes/similar perfumes, the ones that come up have been unavailable too!

Does anyone know of any similar perfumes please?

SOTD is an APO dupe of Elie Saab Essence 3 Ambre. It's quite vanilla-y so far.

They are either hundreds of pounds or the wrong perfume sadly.
