Happy belated Easter to all! Hoping everyone had a more restful time than I did, as I was working. Sad
SOTD is the Superdrug rip off of Tom Ford's Santal Blush. It's exactly the same, I tell you!

TakeYourHatOffBoy · 11/04/2023 10:22

Morning all! Back at work after the lovely long weekend...grrrr. I really need to win the lottery!

Anyway, it's Tom Ford for me today - Plum Japonais. Very fond of this - it's juicy, dark, sweet and sultry. I have a 5ml and am tempted by a larger decant. Never thought I'd say that about a TF but this has been discontinued and I'd quite like to keep some around in my collection.

I've done a Bad Thing though, especially for so early on a Monday morning! The Scent Sampler has 50% off and free UK postage if you spend over £50, so I've indulged. Nishane Ani, POAL, Le Labo Santal 55 and Guerlain Spiriteuse Double Vanille. Hefty samples too - all 5mls except for the POAL which is 10ml. Bargain(ish)! I don't work for them btw Grin

TakeYourHatOffBoy · 11/04/2023 10:38

Just realised it's Tuesday, not Monday...

Nishane Ani is in my top 5 desert island scents. I am on my second 100mls bottle. I absolutely adore it. It would be my signature if I could commit to just one scent. Let me know how you get on with it

IrisApfelRocks · 11/04/2023 11:11

SOTD is Lipstick Rose by Frederic Malle

TakeYourHatOffBoy · 11/04/2023 12:36

I'm looking forward to it @IrisApfelRocks - love a good amber / vanilla. Will let you know if it makes it into my top 5!

CorneliaStreet · 11/04/2023 17:51

SOTD was Hermes Un Jardin sur le Nil, courtesy of the tester in John Lewis. I love this, but still undecided whether to buy a full bottle as have other things that are similar. One for the birthday list maybe. SOTE is Black Opium.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 11/04/2023 19:23

If you're in the market for a dupe, Perfume Parlour do a very good copy of Un Jardin sur Le Nil. It's called Garden Zero and might be worth a punt if you're unsure?

What's the name of it?!

I love Tom Ford perfumes but sadly I haven't the budget for them, of my other favourite Acqua Di Parma ones!

That is the beauty of Scent Sampler - you can get 5mls of several TFs very cheaply (I don't work for them either Grin but have been enjoying smelling of Fleur de Portofino in the sunshine this Easter).

alltheevennumbers · 11/04/2023 20:17

Apologies if you have already all done this, and I've missed it, but there is a good Shay and Blue offer on currently where you can try a 10ml for the cost of postage.

alltheevennumbers · 11/04/2023 20:26

Having a Julie Masse day as have gone for 10ml of Nashwa (as 10ml of extrait for the cost of postage when it gets a 4.33 rating on Fragrantica sounds like a good deal). Plus snagged a cheap bottle of Si Le Parfum on eBay that I hadn't realised she was also responsible for - I love the fact it's like posh Ribena.

AprilLady · 11/04/2023 20:52

@TakeYourHatOffBoy I’ve also recently become a big fan of Nishane Ani. I only have a 50ml bottle (bought when Notino had a really good offer) but may well need a back up at some point.

Also, hadn’t tried The Scent Sampler previously, but at 50% off it was too good to resist, so I’ve also ordered some samples.

SOTD Dior Jasmin des Anges from a sample. Very pleasant and spring appropriate, but not particularly long lasting. So followed by Kenzo Flower, another floral spring-like scent. Better lasting and certainly bette value.

Cantonet · 11/04/2023 20:58

I'm Interested in Nishane Ani too.
It seemed to be incredibly popular on the Facebook perfume sites. What does it smell like?
Sotd is Ffern Summer 2019. It's really chilly here & we've got the log burner on.
I think I need something warming, not cooling.

@alltheevennumbers did you decide on your liberation perfume in the end?

@alltheevennumbers did you decide on your liberation perfume in the end?

No I have been dithering and frittering cash away on other tempting things.

Feels like a three way split between a)something that smells epic and like the end of an era Vs b) name/concept that fits the divorce brief Vs c) something wildly covetable (by me at least) that is only justified by the need to mark the occasion.

So contenders so far:

a) Amouage Gold, L'Heure Bleue, or something that smells like an interminable battle (cannon fire and blood?) from Beaufort?
b) Libre or Lady Vengeance?
c) Le Parfum de Therese or Coromandel or Le Lion?

FestivelyScent · 11/04/2023 23:32

Three of those are on my favourites list @alltheevennumbers (LHB, Coromandel, and Le Lion). I've only ever had samples, but they were all gorgeous and FB worthy, for me.

SOTN is Ambre Orient, again. 🌷

SOTD Musc Invisible, JHAG.

I'm intrigued by Nishane Ali, must take a look.

@Alltheevennumbers as a huge JHAG fan I vote for Lady Vengeance - though Vengeance Extreme would be even better.

IrisApfelRocks · 12/04/2023 08:12

SOTD is Mugler Womanity. Another I repurchase all the time. It seems to be polarising but I absolutely love it .

TakeYourHatOffBoy · 12/04/2023 09:49

I'd be inclined to go for the wildly covetable because...well, why the hell not? Coromandel is divine.

SOTD is Malle's Iris Poudre. Hmmm. Strong, strong resemblance to Coty L'aimant, imo, which is not a bad thing at all! Reminds me of my grandmother's bathroom though - a fabulous pink-and-black, tiled and mirrored palace, which was just the height of luxury and glamour to me as a small child.

CorneliaStreet · 12/04/2023 12:20

I’d go for covetable as well, treat yourself. I’d go for Coromandel.

SOTD is Kayali Lovefest Burning Cherry. It’s nice enough but the longevity is terrible.

I'm going to throw Sana Jardin 'Tiger by Her Side' into the mix here... it's similar to Coromandel, but on me, it's more wearable and I adore it. I think it would serve you well in your new phase!

toffee1000 · 12/04/2023 16:18

Lancôme O de L’Orangerie today. It’s a really nice citrussy, spring/summer scent that I love. Crap weather today so it helps lift the mood.
